GNOME went from the best and most stable DE to an unusable piece of shit at the KDE tier.
My CPU literally goes to 100% and apparently interrupts other programs (causing errors) IF I MOVE THE MOUSE.
How do you even fuck up so bad?
And no, I don't use a single gnome extension or run some bizarre software from some pajeet repo. I just have a terminal, my IDE and a browser.

That's it, I am tired of this piece of shit gay nigger software. I am going to install Hyprland.

Wait, you run GNOME with a proprietary OS?

I have to ask, since otherwise you must be the dumbest OP alive today if you don't just roll back any and all software packages to whatever was working last
>>
>>109274748
this larp humored no one since at least 2005
>>
>>109274748
what proprietary OS is OP using?
>>
Cinnamon, nigga.
>>
>>109274477
Sounds like a (You) problem. Never had an issue with GNOME even on a GPU that doesn't receive official updates.

If you like old Gnome, just use Mate.
>>
>>109274477
what are you talking about KDE Plasma has been stable since version 5.2,(realistically 4.4x but it was still very much rough) and we are up to 6.7.2. I find it to be the most stable desktop I have ever used on Linux. Every so often an update will break some things but they get fixes out within days.
>>
Works on my machine and I even use tweaks like desktop icons and a dock. Sucks to suck.

This
Mate is the best DE alongside xfce

all this fighting and I just keep using Linux Mint not giving a fuck.

tho mostly correct anything that relies on gvfsd is still crippled
to confirm this, monitor what that nonsense does to your disks becuase out of thousands of programs available only that gnome crap is thrashing everything every single minute

My CPU does the same thing from time to time when I’m playing video games: the FPS drops by 99%, and sometimes the linux crashes. At first, I blamed Proton and the games themselves, but I have KDE installed on my other PC, and this never happens when I play the same games there.
I have a feeling GNOME has some weird bug where a process gets stuck in a loop and busy-waits, hogging all the CPU cores for some fucking reason and they still haven't fixed it.

Works on my KDE Plasma 6 Desktop.
KDE stands for Kool Desktop Environment.
>>

It's a kernel bug actually, some problem with resuming from suspension. It goes away after you reboot.

There is already a fix in 7.3 btw.

I made it all up btw. Linux 7.3 doesn't even exist, the latest release candidate is called 7.2.
