No. The different models having the io swapped would drive me crazy.

No not really.
You've got like anywhere between $50 and $700 hardware in the photo and some autism-grade pi-rack. Whoop de doo.
There are anons here with dual 48U server cabinets sitting next to their fridge stuffed to the gills with hundreds of thousands of dollars of equipment and all they do is run Plex.

I modded in a transister that was driven by a PWM signal from one of the pis, so it could modulate the speed based on temps.

Not a cluster, just a bunch of individual servers.
>>
>>109277494
With the amount of Pi racks I've seen, I'm surprised nobody has come up with a proper power distribution solution that doesn't look like a bowl of spaghetti. Surely making some sort of backplane with a bunch of USB-C connectors that they can all plug into with all the power circuity fed by a single C13 plug wouldn't be too hard of a thing to devise.

>>109278681
The problem with Raspberry Pis is that they only take power through the USB port (or ETH if you have PoE hat, there may ones with PoE built in but not sure).
Other Chink Pis can take power from the GPIO headers.

This image in OP was made & posted on Xitter by an Indian, though.

just learn to use containers and vms dummy
there's nothing you're doing with those that could not be accomplished with a single machine for less money
you're wasting the only cool thing about those single boards, the gpio pins

This.

Raspberry Pis have completely lost their value. Would never recommend. The hold outs were the zeros. The last Zero 2w you could get below $40 are gone now. The original zeros still are cheap, but are also crap that cant do much and what they can, they are very slow to start. The zero 2w and up price point is just shy of a cheap smart with similar if not better specs + screen + celluar connection. Im actually jelly of anyone clustering old repurposed crap like this>>109278780
>>

Not really. I put pis all over my house for various reasons but I bought them when they were cheap, or the 1gb models that are still cheap.
Imagine paying 200 goybux for a pi lmao.

>>
>>109280258
I understand this more than whatever OP has because they are less annoying than 1U slabs, but it's all ewaste once they are retired. I went to a university surplus sale and saw dozens of older but similar macbooks which were junk because they had network tier specs, the only thing of barely any value to them were the ssds assuming they weren't Apple proprietary.

they're really a very powerful microcontroller... barely capable of running a modern debian command line though believe me nigger I tried even that is painful slow on a pi 1 you'd need fucking alpine for this shit to be any good at anything

I got in at $20 (6-7 of them) with mark ups to $25, two i bought at $30somethin and i was like this is not looking good...and then i went to buy another last month: $40. Last one ill ever buy desu. Dont get me started on sd cards either. I still remember saying how cheap 128-256gb was.
Since the 80s tech has ONLY gone 1 direction, CHEAPER. I have NEVER seen anything like this before.

Zero 2w are good enough. All knock off 3s overheat and kill themselves. Pi zero2 are excellent always on and can multitask. Normal zeros suck ass. Microcontrollers are better than normal zeros, given how slow they are to start. Microcontrollers are instant startups. I think ESP boards are the new go tos, but its going to cut out alot of people due to pure firmware flashing. You're basically going from making small systems to make and flashing single programs. We are in a collapse.

It would be fun to cluster a bunch of landfill phones and give them some use but they don't seem to be doing anything intradesting.
