I know nothing about headphones or really any audio technology more advanced then aux, price range is 300$ but please try and convince me if you think the product is worth what you pay. I'm getting back into collecting CD's and I'm buying a sony d 220 to listen to them. I'll be listening to primarily death metal and big band jazz if that makes any difference. Thank you for reading and any advice :)

doesn't matter, pick whatever pos that is comfortable and you can EQ it to sound better than anything else on the market for you as long as THD is reasonably low (which is the case for 99% of headphones as long s you don't buy a 2$ headphone on temu).

maybe used aeons if you want more bass and something that sounds brighter, can't imagine a discman has the power for them but used amps are a dime a dozen in 2026 so that shouldn't matter if you went that way
