This shit fucking sucks. The UI is janky as hell, you need a million plugins just to get it to do all the things Plex can do out of the box, and its scanning engine is excruciatingly slow. It took over 60 hours to finish scanning my library of 6000 files. Why do freetards keep shilling it when Plex is also completely free (even for remote streaming if you use a 3rd party player to do it).

Yes. This is the kind of garbage the people with Common Sense™ suggest for you to use.

Lazy loading the library should be mandatory. Why are they taking so long to implement it? Jesus Christ.

That's cute I'm still not buying your pass faggot.

Skill issue poorfag.
>b-b-bbb
My anime collection alone dwarfs your entire library and when I had to restore from backup at the start of this year indexing everything took 20 minutes.

miniscule library size
you have garbage hardware
>>

It's not open source, simple as.
Why would I install garbage proprietary software?

what is a plugin you would install because you actually wanted it and not because some shill convinced you you needed it?

I don't run a public streaming service. I stream videos for my kids in my own house. I don't need a shitpile of pointless extra features.

But I don't want to do that.

Jellyfin doesn’t even have the ability to make smart collections/playlists based on filters without a plugin that someone else made. Thats the kind of basic feature that every media server should have. Even iTunes has had that for like 20 years.

Jesus Christ I have never needed this kind of cancer.

I fucking hate iTunes.

Nah, sounds like their shit database rewrite finding yet another victim
OP, use 10.10.x, it works great. 10.11 fucked it all up.

use wholpin and figure out how to rename files with sonarr/radarr. Its not perfect but its the best and i havent had really that many problems. However when I do have problems to me its just how open source is and always has been. Its also better then everything else.
>>
>>109285092
who in the fuck would ever use that. no one. you are lucky someone made the plugin for you. Also music on jellyfin I will admit is fucking ass. I had to switch to novadrome or whateve rits called because my 2tb music collection was so fucking huge.

Maybe stop using a Raspberry Pi as a server?
Just switched to Jellyfin yesterday and it took 4 hours for 24000 files.

MovieDB is ass and lacks intelligent things like 'series pages'
Seriously Jellyfin should give me a page with nice visuals for say... I dunno, Star Wars. that page should compile every movie I have, every series, every soundtrack into one place.
>>
>>109283465
Works for me
Plex has numerous bugs in actual playback that make it unusable garbage for me, and because it's proprietary nobody will fix them
Meanwhile the only issue in Jellyfin playback that I've come across has been some Dolby Vision profiles in mkv files falling back to SDR, which can at least be worked around by remuxing to mp4

Most brainless post 2026.
I'm glad you weren't in charge back when humans figured out how book libraries should work.

Typical case of PEBKAC faggotry.

>It took over 60 hours to finish scanning my library of 6000 files.
Actual skill issue. I have 1700 files and the initial scan took MAYBE 10 minutes. Multiply that by 4 and you're still nowhere near 60 hours.

>you need a million plugins just to get it to do all the things Plex can do out of the box
Wrong again bitch. I have 10 plugins installed, only 2 of which I installed myself, the rest just came preinstalled apparently and idk what they do but I'm not missing any functionality. Everything from movies to shows to anime gets tagged correctly.

>The UI is janky as hell
Works on my machine.

Perhaps are you retarded, OP?
