>ughm guys this so called "steam engine" hasn't even turned out a profit yet; all it does it spin when you make it hot; like lmao how's that ever gonna be useful lol
Give it time. We have to beat China first.

When will the frontier models become profitable?
>>
>>109284897
Once we beat China, the DoW will bankroll OpenAI and Anthropic
>>
People live in different worlds. GPT 5.6 in codex, pretty genius. GPT 5.6 in MS Copilot, AI IS DUMB AS HELL IT IS A BUBBLE HOW CAN ANYONE LIKE THIS. Not everyone has access to the same things.

Still not buying a slopscription
>>
>>109284829
We just have to pay 10k a month for a subscription for it to be profitable, no biggie.

I saw a guy that looks identical to him get hit by a bolt of lightning in August 2026. Tragic.

are posts like these a psyop to make me hate ai?
>>
no one doubted the steam engine. it's value was immediately obvious and was put to use right away to pump water. 5 years later ai still has no use case and shills are scrambling to find a purpose for it.
>>
>>109285009
b-but if you make convoluted workflow that costs gorillion tokens it can make you type code faster! assuming you ignore countless direct and indirect tradeoffs for this approach.
>>
>>109285009
AI is another way to pump water

You are my strongest nigger.
>>
>>109284934
So never. Thanks for admitting it.
>>
>>109284934
I didn't see this post but they better fucking not.
Its narrow use-case is not worth the burden on the American people.
>>
>>109285009
Playing devil's advocate for a moment. Personally I hope AI crashes and burns. It's not even real AI as LLMs aren't intelligence.

Electricity. It was a novelty at first. No one used it and thought it was just a toy or a gimmick. It wasn't until the invention of the light bulb that people realized electricity had any real use. Between Benjamin Franklin's proof of electricity in June 10, 1752, and 1882 when the first electrical grid came online, people knew of it, but didn't use it.

AI needs its version of the light bulb in order for it to be something the average normie will want to use.
>>
How come we never heard anything about Image and Video generation anymore? It's like most just gave up on these when it was supposed to be one of the most important aspect of AI
>>
>>109284829
Is China in the room with us right now?
>>
>>109285054
Seedance 2.0 is already perfect American models just gave up completely
>>
>>109285054
You can do it for free on your own hardware so there's no reason for anyone to hire shills.
>>
>>109285045
basically we need to invent a problem for ai to solve it lol. tbqh industry has been looking for those for years now and couldn't find it yet. Trillions of dollars invested by now, I don't think there's anything there
>>
>>109285045
electricity was not a novelty, toy, or gimmick. it was an established scientific study that evolved over time. this idea that people in the past were short sighted retards that wrote off advancements in technology is just absurd ai-bro bargaining chips. there were doubts in business that it would replace gas, but the general consensus was not ever that it couldnt be useful. also, it's a retarded comparison to begin with. steam, gas, electricity are all fundamental building blocks provided by nature. language models do not have a physical use, AT BEST it can only serve economic purposes, which are fake and gay and do not actually drive quality of life.
>>
>>109284964
alt-right extremists like you needs to get terminated. you are a danger to our democracy
>>
Put AI in sexbots, that's our light bulb.
>>
>>109284829
Without giving too much away, I work at a very large AI company and everyone I know personally are in some form of communication with at least 1 Chinese company about moving over there and working for them. China already won.
>>
>>109285172
Yes but that has nothing to do with ai
>>
>>109285009
They had steam engine since ancient Greece.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aeolipile
>>
>>109285599
A toy that performed no useful work, not the same as a Newcomen engine. Also greekoids lacked the scientific and metallurgical base to make anything of it.
>>
>>109285691
the notion that humans of the past could not see the value of mechanical rotation is not only misguided but straight up retarded. these were people that engineered systems that moved water over many multiple miles. they were not stupid.
>>
>>109285711
Yes, I'm sure more than a few people took interest, looked at it and said "hm, this thing can't do any useful work, can't power a mill, a pump, trip hammers or anything useful", not really sure what your point is.
>>
>>109284829
It's just the mindset of poor people who deserve to be poor because they are too ignorant and stubborn to recognize the potential in things. The wealthy have always been the ones responsible for pushing science and technology forward both directly and through financial backing.
>>
>stupid luddites everyone knows coal boiler powered cars are the future, it's a proven technology used in trains. experimental gasoline, diesel and electric engines are memes that will never work.
>>
>>109285722
you're a geniune fucking moron is my point and you only prove it further with your retarded troll reply.

GLM is pretty sweet gotta say
I was skeptical of chinkshit vs Claude/GPT/Gemini but its pretty good for way cheaper
>>
>>109284829
it's going to be profitable in the defense industry, that's about it. all the consumer applications are going to be a net negative for the economy when you consider the amount of career paths it's going to close. it's going to drive more people into the service industry like the mechanization and outsourcing of manufacturing did in the US. Eventually the datacenters will be outsourced to countries with less energy regulation just like factories were with labor regulation and you won't even be able get hired to repair them in the US
>>
>>109285938
I looked at your post and said "hm, this idiot is projecting their lack of curiosity onto people of the past and isnt going to contribute anything useful to a conversation" you didnt bring any arguments to the table, this isnt a debate, go do the one thing you can do to make the world a better place and kill yourself.
>>
>>109286096
more ad hominem
>>
>We have to beat China
>beat
Hell no. I have decided to ally and unify for the mutual benefit of us both.
It's the Americans that are trying to divide and conquer their own people. Trying to control and restrict access to their "steam engine".
>>
>>109284829
>shabbat shalom, goy here... that's right I also think that anybody who boycott AI is an antisemite and should be thrown into prison
>>
>>109284829
Nigger the steam engine was so hyped that it created a whole gigantic economic bubble when it came out.

If you want to really make the point that AI is like the steam engine, then you have to concede that the current way things are going is insustainable and there's no point or benefit to burning trillions of dollars and making datacenters for a demand that isn't even there.

Not even hardware companies believe in AI hype anyway. The reason we're stuck with overpriced hardware and shortages is that they refuse to build more factories because they don't want to invest the billions needed to build them just for AI to fail and demand for hardware to normalize.
>>
>>109284934
>the DoW will bankroll OpenAI and Anthropic
Okay, but when do they become profitable?
>>
>>109284991
These posts are intended to make you complacent despite all your tax dollars that could have gone towards creating a utopia, being wasted on Jewish AI scams that will never produce anything useful because the Chinese can provide a better version for a fraction of the price
>>

Who the fuck is "we" op? You are not the american government or whatever western entity you're from, nor should you feel like they represent you, you are a citizen to a system that sees you as a resource, loyalty to the political structure of a nation is utter retardation
