If your BIOS is set to show the POST screen but you get a black screen until the OS loads, scale back your CPU overclock or undervolt.Low-frequency voltage instability can cause the Graphics Output Protocol (GOP) handshake to fail during early boot, the usual stress tests won't catch this.Once the OS starts loading, its graphics driver re-initializes the PCIe link, bringing the display back.An unstable memory overclock (specifically memory controller desync) can also cause this behavior.
from the last thread, people complaining/waning about the Nitro+ 9070xt connector, I looked into it out of curiosityIt seems that the solution is to use the 12v cable inlcuded on the PSU, and not the one in the card, since its not divided, and that basically fixes any possible issues, so farIF, im wrong please tell me why, for future reference, as I said im curious
>>109290187If you're considering a 9070 XT, I'd get the Red Devil over the Nitro+ because it spares you that power connector bullshit.Build quality is top tier, Gamers Nexus Steve wanted PowerColor to set a more aggressive default fan curve because it Red Devil's card length (352 mm with bracket) could cause case fitment issues. These guys both limit their gaming GPU warranties to two years, btw.>But Red Devil costs $850You're past the point of financial responsibility if you're considering the Nitro+.https://www.powercolor.com/product-detail210.htmhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-1-rWNgZKRU

>>109290236>You're past the point of financial responsibility if you're considering the Nitro+.its red devil is 40-50% more expensive than the Nitro+, at least here, if even available

>>109290187You'd kinda an idiot in the first place if you get a 9070XT, desu. It's like $800, can only really run old games well and there's nothing new out right now that's even worth playing. You should just get a last gen card and use that and wait for AMD/Nvidia to release something actually worth buying once games worth playing are out. It's like you're buying a new GPU for what? >>109290253The cables that come with the GPU aren’t third party. If AMD can’t include cables that won’t start a house fire then trusting any one of a dozen PSU companies is also out of the question. The problem is with the card and the connector, not random party designations of the cables.
>>109290283fair, I might actually just get the sapphire pulse and call it a day, and there's other's in the same price range im looking into, I went Nitro+ because, its among the cheapest here, maybe because availability I assume, but didnt knew about the connector stuff, might as well try to avoid possible bs
>>109290276HDR gamers should use Windows 11.
>>109290333
>>109290353It's about your risk tolerance. There should be lower risk of the power connector causing issues if you pair it with a good PSU and set it all up properly (on both ends of the power cable). If the Nitro+ is sold at a good deal, it's something to consider.Undervolting the GPU also lowers the risk of the connector melting because the GPU needs less power and draws less current through the power cable.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=naBqsSfGX3AYou can set a 280~300W power limit and retain most of the stock performance with a proper undervolt + OC.

If I have a top tier X370 chipset motherboard, flash the BIOS, and just slam in a 5800X3D 10th edition, would I suffer any major performance loss? I currently have an R7-1800X. Same with my cooler. It's a Be Quiet Shadow Rock 3 single tower rated for 150w tdp if i'm not mistaken. That should be enough for a bone stock clocked newer CPU right? I know the platform has pcie 3.0 instead of 4.0 or 5.0 but I don't think in real world use that's a huge drop even I'm upgrading to a 16GB 9060 XT.I game at 1440p and intend to get another 2 1080p side monitors. Swapping my PSU out for a new one tomorrow and I'm hoping I don't have to remove all the other components in order to do it. >>109291482If you have a radiator in top with 3x120mm or even 3x140mm fans you don't need more than a 140 in the rear. What you don't want in a case is negative pressure.

>>109290879Nitro+ is worth buying if the price difference isn't that big from the ASUS Prime or the Sapphire Pulse. You're going to want to undervolt the Prime or the Pulse anyway, they might run a bit loud to your liking at stock settings.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yP0axVHdP-UYou might as well get the Nitro+ if you're confident about setting it up properly (300W power limit, undervolt + OC)..It's important to leave some slack at both ends of the 12V-2x6 cable, do not bend the cable tightly right at the connector.

Hello, last year (or 2024?) I bought myself a new PC after 10+ years and I was too greedy and bought a shitty motherboard that doesn't even have USB-C and now I also got a new case and realized that motherboard doesn't even support the USB-C connector from the new case.I am just some stupid normie doing casual programming, no gaming, nothing fancy. But sometimes USB-C would be neat. I need more ports. So I might want to get a new budget motherboard. I found this: MSI PRO B850-S Is this okay for 116€?hmm the scores look kinda bad, but I have no idea about hardware really https://pcspecchart.com/pc_parts/motherboard/303/It'd be nice if I could stick around max 150 bucks or something. Or is this impossible?Rn I have 1 m2 and 2 HDDs. One or two more HDDs might also be neat, not necessary tho

>>109295595this is the usbc connector to the case, are you sure your motherboard doesnt have it
>>109295508>what's a genuine benefit of having e-cores on a desktop system? When usage is low, you can just have shit running on E-cores for lower power draw / less heat. And when you have high load, you can still run background tasks on E-cores while the P-cores are slammed, since you have more cores. Which Ryzens have 18 or 24 cores in total?I'm personally gonna be pretty happy about having E-cores on my upcoming server build. They should do the trick when the server is at low loads, decreasing the amount of power I need to run it 24/7, and when there's a high load, the big increase in total amount of cores means that my other services still have room to run.

>>109297933UK.Hopefully it's not still like that now. This shit is really basic stuff.
>>109297612>just got a 285kwell, the nice part of living near a micro center is that I can get a mobo/cpu, but man.
>>109297612I did not expect some of these launching in late 2027 fucking hell

>ASRock X670E Steel LegendWorst purchase of my life. The most unstable piece of shit I ever owned.
>>109292519doesn't gamernexus have a hate boner for Nvidia for (totally not irrational) reasons?
>>109298407>AMD CPU>AsRock mobo>Stability lol pick 2
>>109298420What manufacturer I should choose for my next motherboard upgrade? I want to get next gen AMD CPU when it will come out, originally I wanted to keep the motherboard, but I doubt this garbage can survive long enough.
>>109298475Drop $400 on some upper mid range MSI board like Carbon Wifi and you never ever have to think about your mobo again.
>>109293777You seem pretty confident, but the reports from people who compared aliexpress shit with the legit thing didn't find a measurable differencehttps://www.reddit.com/r/hardware/comments/1nb22qd/honeywell_does_manufacture_02mm_ptm7950_and_there/?show=original&screen_view_count=1

how to fix coil whine with home tools? there has to be a way, I think hardware space became so bitchmade after the crypto scam boom, back in the day people would glue the coils and fix it but nowadays everyone is afraid of touching their stuff because everything is so expensiveanyway coil whine should be fixable, the coil case just need to stuck and not move when the current flows through
>>109298058Buying an RTX 5090 with a low-paying job sounds like a disaster.
>>109298407I was recently motherboard-shopping, and considering how many people chimed in to say "DON'T BUY ASROCK!", I feel like buying ASRock is your own damn fault at this point.
>>109298475for the inital zen5 release it was something likemsi>gigabyte>asus>asrockfor the board refreshes it something likegigabyte>asus=msi>asrockthe MSI refreshes were quite disappointing honestly
>>109298675Undervolt & power limit the processor.Downclock the processor by 100~200 MHz if you're a coil whine schizo.
I'm gonna buy a 750w power supply tomorrow (:
>>109298777no fun in doing that
>>109298773I'd put gigabyte's and asus' refresh boards on the same levelThe only problem with Asus is that they refreshed way too late
>>109298803The price for a decent 850W PSU isn't far apart from 750W units in some regions.
>>109298849Then have fun gluing the chokes.
>>109298886I'm getting it used on fb marketplace for 100 cad. It's still in it's plastic wrapped boxI don't like paying taxes. Less is more (;

>>109298908that aio cable is really tight

>>109298966you could flip the radiator horizontally
wtf and just look at the cables
>>109298976cables too thick, interferes with other fans and the 5090
>>109295658You have a front panel IO connector that supports USBC, its just using the older form factor (it's the plug at the bottom of your mobo). The higher end Mobo's should have both headers for maximum compatibility. You can buy an adapter on aliexpress for like $2.It's also $2 on amazon + $5 shipping, which would ship much faster and you could return it maybe. But your shitty mobo only supports 5Gbps, and the b850 mobo supports 10Gbps (I think), but it has a 20Gbp usb-c connector on the back, so you should only use the back usb-c ports for ssd's (But 40Gbps usb4 connectors exist on higher end mobo's).You need a better mobo anyways if you have a higher end CPU (a CPU stronger than a 7600 NON X), since you might get throttled by the vrm (unlikely for gaming however, more for CPU intense tasks that push it to 100% on all cores). It's technically possible for you to attempt to cool the VRM's (the black chips around the cpu) with a DIY heatsink + laying the motherboard flat because there is nothing to secure it, but the vrm chips are placed around capacitors so it's extra annoying since you can't use a single heatsink. On aliexpress/amazon you can buy a bag of 1x1cm tiny heatsinks for like $10 (maybe it might have an adhesive that might hold, but I don't trust it). But honestly I would want a big heatsink, but it's impossible without pulling out power tools due the the capacitor locations.
Should I build a MFF pc or buy a x86 handheld for 4k switch emulation? Anyone with a ROG Ally X or similar can report how it handles 4k upscaling on Yuzu/Ryujinx on docked mode?
>>109298901I got a an a-tier 750w for $75 cad from newegg two months ago
>>109299138oh nice! that's really comfydid you watch some fun YouTube videos with it?
>>109298987what? mobo needs to be in the lowest position for both rear fans to fit
