Nohting came out of it.You got all the new cool tech that promise some future shit and yet, nohting came out of it.Its like, its there but thats it.No new tech, software or what ever game changing shit. Its all just like an overpriced calculator tellign you how to optimize your company. Thats all. Nothing new. Really?I mean, really really?Like, wow new tech, ai is about to do ... this and that...where? Where is all the cool shit now? wtf?Did the cat trick me again to give her the overpriced cat food at 4 am?
big changes don't happen overnight
>>109313543that time window is already behind us. How many overnights you still need?
gpt is helping me rewire my entire home step by stepas long as it doesn't burn down, ai is a good thing in my book
>>109313548couple of decades
>>109313565interessting, investing doesn't make sense at this pointi got the money now, when i'm dead i don't care anymore
>>109313524kek. you do realize we were promised VR for like 40 years before we finally got a decent approximation of what they've been promising, right?
>>109313524A better question would be what are the anti AI crowd doing to save what's left of the good old internet?
>>109313524>nothing came out of itthat's not true, you just haven't been paying attention, everything in the world has been more and more garbage, the internet, software, social media, even even academic papers!AI had a huge impact and will continue to impact all areas of society
>>109313524same feeing from me. Like hey it's cool it can code mid tier code when guided and replace some codejeets, but like, that's it? All that hype about singularity and shit? Replacing all jobs? UBI (lololol). All this shit is a scam, post bubble pop it will be a tool to vibeslop some small shit for personal use and maybe some obscure use cases for enterprises
>5years ago>ai will replace in 3years all jobswelp
>>109313586...the AI data centres will replace the internet. Access to information will become a subscription and every request and response will go through a Snopes filter. Total control over what people think and talk about.
>>109313524why do you think there are literally tens of millions of people with 130+ IQ around the world who amount to absolutely nothing
Have you not been watching tv? I get obviously ai generated ads for online casinos constantly
>>109313604>hebrew ponzi scheme is a scamwow!
You just have to waitRemember, this is the worst these models will EVER be.Coding is no longer the moat, marketing is the new moat
>>109313524cris you got filtered. again. and you are blaming the software. again. instead of accepting you're just terrible at everything. again.
>>1093139012 more weeks saar
what do you mean? it managed to get lots of people fired and you have half-assed slop breaking services like github or awsnot to mention the environmental cost
>>109313524My uncle goes through the same cycle every time a new technology comes along. First, he gets absurdly excited, saying dumb shit about how we've "reached the singularity" or whatever. Then he peaks by insisting it's going to destroy the world. Finally, once the hype dies down, he acts like he was never that excited about it in the first place. It's where we are currently at.
>>109313524I think AI has its use case, but coding is not one of them, because people dont want to share their code-base (that is their lifes work) with a company that feeds on data though the internet. AI might still be used to generate formulas that would be overly complicated to write yourself. AI should be rebranded as "randomly generated algorithms", and it is still useful, like for video editing and image editing (mostly used by perverts), face detection, image search, and generating npc behavior that does not need to run on high performance realtime applications (aka not gaming, but chess engines and the such). Also, LLMs have a lot of shit mixed together, so it is not a pure representation of what this technology is.
>>109313632ThisRemember this!
Elon Musk promised us that we'd live in a post-scarcity society with no crime or need for money before the decade ends, thanks to AI and robots. Surely you trust him, right???
>>109313524Well until there's decent enough free plans, nothing will happen.
Really?I've diagnosed 90% of the problems I've had in the past few years with AI without having to spend fucking days lurking through random forums and sifting through the vapid shit that are search results from search engines. Computer issues, car issues, electrical issues, health issues, wildlife issues, legal issues.... the list goes on and on and on. Every time I have a conversation I come out a better man. I've learned a whole lot along the way because now it's like having your own personal teacher that has infinite patience to entertain all your questions and thoughts, and infinite time to explore details and side quests.AI is great.
>>109313580And yet it's still a barely used tech.
>>109317398>I didn't learn anything and anytime something else breaks I will need to ask claude how to fix it.Ok
>>109313643Internet is already inside datacenters owned by Amazon and Microsoft you dumbass. AI just made the buildup several times larder and government started gifting companies anti NIMBY passes.
>>109313524What were you promised? Programming is solved but not the full software engineering pipeline. AI can make movie quality scenes and you can not just generate any image you want but straight up tell a computer to edit it for you. If you expected more then just office worker mass layoffs then I am sorry. AI will not deliver life saving medicine faster then current scientists because every drug needs to go through thousands of test trials to make sure it has no negative side effects (99% of proposed medicine never makes it past these tests). It will also not make us wealthier through higher productivity because we are still limited not by not enough people working but rather by natural resources which we are already straining. The only thing that will come this decade from AI is the thing Dario keeps talking about, the white collar bloodbath.
A.I. will make life better. Invest now, it is the future.
>>109319354>because every drug needs to go through thousands of test trials to make sure it has no negative side effects
>>109317398>electrical issues, health issues, legal issuesJFC
>>109315767Also, I would like to mention that I am in fact a racist and anti-semetic, homophobe. Homosexuality is a social construct, and there are only 2 types genetalia, even if mine is a lot bigger. Heil Hitler!
>>109322076How am I wrong on this?
>>109322200It's a real mystery, anon.
>it doesn't affect me personally and it confuses me therefore nothing happened
>>109313524What the hell are you talking about? It did have a massive impact. The entire internet is dogshit now, computing is unaffordable and they're trying to sell both the poison and solution back to us poor saps for a monthly subscription.
>>109322303if it doesn't affect me it may as well not have happened as the result is the same
