The implication is that modern IPS is already good and there's no need for a worse technology (OLED).
>>
>>109321374
The only thing wrong with a modern, high quality IPS is that the monitor technology has peaked and nobody is making anything better than IPS. MicroLED might be the endgame but until then, everything else is just a compromise.

No.

IPS with oled-like blacks already exists it's called dual layer LCDs but the jews are gatekeeping this technology from us and you will need to take out a loan to get a professional filmmaking monitor if you want to experience this

Why are monitors so far behind electricity anons?
>>
>>109321506
Bulb is one point, if it gets 10% dimmer over 2 years you don't notice

Oled is millions of points, if they dim non uniformly image starts to look like shit

Backlights of regular displays are pretty sturdy though, this is an oled specific issue
>>
Burn-in normalization has been solved since before LG C2.
It merely requires measuring electrical resistance of each individual subpixel one by one to precisely dim less bad subpixels and even them out.
Combined with non-linear brightness curve, SDR mode at sane brightness level should theoretically have zero visible burn-in until peak brightness below SDR max (which should take decade of 24x7 use), while HDR mode will suffer decrease in peak brightness flashbangs but stay roughly the same at most normal scenes.

But electrical resistance measurements circuity is apparently too complex, expensive and bulky (omg extra 5mm chin is literally unwatchable in the current year) which is why LG C3 and newer models as well as most other manufacturers switched to AI guesstimation counters.
>>

What does it look like zoomed out?
I don't use OLEDs, but I also don't really see the issue with this. It's probably imperceptible at a normal viewing distance in a normal timeframe. This is high speed pixel peeping.

Nope, it's visible at a monitor distance. Do a search and you'll find people complaining about it.
But most people cope by pretending it's not there.

The image isnt being cut off because the panel has extra pixels specifically for this purpose
There is no issue and its not noticable during actual use
You can completely disable this feature on my OLED atleast, but why would you, its not noticable and the biggest burn in protection
On the list of OLED issues this ranks at the bottom
Can anti OLED shills maybe start talking about actual issues like banding?
Pretty much every OLED panel still has banding on grey which sucks and needs improving
>>109321724
Features like this are the reason they are not as prone to burning in anymore along with material improvements

I assume this is the reason why modern OLEDs have image retention issues. Because the thing meant to solve burn-in is causing even worse problems.

You are indian.
Id take that burned in old OLED over whatever LCD shit you are shilling streetshitter
>>
>>109321304
the funniest thing is... this does pretty much nothing
it literally just makes the edges of the burned in stuff slightly smoother and nothing more, take OP's webm for example, you have half the shown screen area black and the other half an orange shade, did shifting the entire image by a few pixels make a meaningful difference? no, there's still a huge area that's dark and another area that is orange.
even most of the white pixels that are displaying the text stay the exact same color after the shift.
it barely does anything for small icons and small text, let alone a huge ass taskbar or the interface of your browser.
>>
>>109321730
maybe you meant
>no 4k monitors that are 4k and more than 60 hz
24 inch is literally the perfect size for 4k, you can have scaling set at 200% and get the same perfect scaling as 1080p with extra sharpness, plus 1080p is fine at 24 inch so you can do integer scaling and just run 1080p for use cases where 4k is too demanding.
1440p is the worst most retarded resolution, and for some reason you want it on 24 inch where it's even more stupid, kys retard.
>>
>>109321926

Wait for blue phosphorescent OLEDs to come into full production, it will be a few more years. We are already using high half-life red and green phosphorescent OLEDs for a decade in all such devices, but the high band gap blue diode longevity is still an issue, even in 5th gen OLED, the reason why OLEDs 'burn-in'. Development is slow cuz most countries ban rare earths that can be used as dopants in the emissive layers. The quantum mechanics of fluorescent, let alone phosphorescent OLED energy level transitions are crazy complex, but some chinks and Koreans in the labs are trying to use metal organic frameworks as the emissive material for blue OLEDs, without rare-earth ions, hoping production will start 4 years from now, sold to LG and Samsung. I can't remember where I read this shit, but there.

You don't even see that in real life. IPS does glow in the dark like a CIA nigger, but only cameras can really capture the non-uniformity like that. Human eyes don't have a shutter.
>>
>>109333979
Good IPS displays don't have non-uniformity anywhere near that bad, even on camera.
>>
>>109333975
No even if SED/FED was a thing it would have died at the same time as Plasma. It wouldn't scale with higher resolutions and brightness needed for HDR
>>
>>109333999
Even good ones have this uniformity problem. I have a high end IPS monitor and even though it's completely impossible for me to see any kind of uniformity problems even in complete darkness with the monitor displaying a black screen using my eyeballs, using a camera sensor I can easily see the backlight. Mine honestly looks even worse than that because it's a wide gamut monitor so it's far more colorful.

If you're not seeing it look this bad on camera, then your camera is bad or the settings are incorrect (too low exposure).
>>
>>109333804

>>
>>109334298

>>
>>109334310
It doesn't matter what the calibrator says. Cameras are not used for calibration, they are used for capturing light. You need to look up what a camera is and how it works instead of telling me about calibrators if you're this confused.
The point of a calibrator is completely different from a camera - they are used to make the screen look uniform to human eyes not to camera sensors.
>>
>>109333888
