here's my experience with FOSS (FreeCAD)>encounter a software-breaking bug that I had to report to github page in the first day of use by just using it according to manual>the whole toolbox in one of the workspaces disappeared and doesn't want to show up again, and nobody on subreddit, discord or official forum know how to get it back>had to fix it myself but now every time I start FreeCAD I have to manually turn on visibility for EVERY toolbar>can't make chamfers or fillets to the edge of the face (you have to leave 0,01mm offset)>crashes and dies on any feature propagation for any vertices that are not a chain of straight lines>cannot do fillets more complex than edges of a cube (shits itself and dies on cylinders)>comparing to SOLIDWORKS every action is multiplied by 3, example: you want to do [thing] in SOLIDWORKS? Here's a button for it. You want to do [thing] in FreeCAD? Open 3 different menus, then choose option from several cascaded dropdown menus that open a half-functional sidebar where you have to do the [thing] by manually pressing a sequence of several buttons 3 timesFOSS is not free, you pay with your blood.

The thing about free software like freeCAD, blender and libreoffice is that you pay with your time and productivity.

I have yet to find a part that I can't model using solvespace. It can do parametric parts, assemblies, and linkages.
