how come the only one that supports exFAT-formatted external storage & isn't a locked-down piece of shit is the google tv streamer? i swear these things are stuck in 2012. and no i'm not going to shell out $200 for a 6yo nvidia shield turd. seriously, what the fuck happened?

in any case i think some xiaomi can handle exfat just fine. is it locked down?
you're on /g/ though so ideally you'd have a homeserver running zfs raid with some crazy compression in it and access your movies it through jellyfin
