I'm genuinely troubled by how difficult it is to manage gtk themes and fonts. It should not be like this in 2026. I use x11 and fvwm and even if I edit my gtk-3.0/settings.ini I still needed to go back to xfce4 to set up my theme so Librewolf would notice that I had a dark theme active. It wouldn't do anything before this.

I usually make them to go with whatever theme I'm using. Like when I use 'dracula' I have a pair of bloody fangs, or a Cthulhu head for when I'm using the Eldritch theme. Mjolnir for Nord theme, and so on.

Fellow Unc, but apparently if we call ourselves unc, we get accused of being zoomers so be prepared for that. We're apparently not allowed to use their slang - not even when it's a word they use about us.

Anyway, which riced out fetch? If you mean the one with the spinning gentoo logo, that's 'fetch' by areofyl. github.com/areofyl/fetch and my other fetches like the vampire fangs, I just make a dot art/ASCII art text file and set that as my distro logo in my fastfetch config. After I feed my dogs, I'll make a GitHub repo with a config and ASCII art text file and comment the config so you know what to change to customize it for yourself

How difficult is it going to be to get the application launcher icon larger than what the panel allows in KDE Plasma? I'm trying to go for a Retro A E S T H E T I C PC-98 Pixel Art LARPer (TM) kind of vibe, and a pretty ponderable magical orb sitting in the lower left corner of my desktop is just the kind of touch it needs. I've never really gone that hard into desktop ricing even though I've been using Linux for ~10 years, but I just bought a Surface Book 2 as a replacement for my old Samsung drawing tablet and I've got a mad itch to really dress it up to the nines.

The dude is really bent out of shape over Omarchy, CachyOS, and any other Arch based distro with its own installer that isn't Artix. He had a few tells that made it very obvious that it was him to the point where another anon told me to search the archives for "artix" and "non-tech-savvy" and I got almost 1,000 thread results, most of them were definitely him. The anon that showed me that trick called him out on it, though, so now he's laying low and not using that phrase anymore but he still can't help but sperg when someone shits on Artix. Because Omarchy is about to start using Quickshell in their next major release, it's going to make him rage out over anyone using arch, Hyprland and quickshell together and he's going to accuse them of really being on Omarchy and just changing their fetch distro line to Arch. I personally think it's funny that someone gets that genuinely upset about another person's choice of installation method for the exact same OS. It's all Linux, who gives a flying fuck how someone installed it? At least they're using it.
>>
>>109363612
>>109363506
See how you had to click a button with your mouse in order to do that? I don't ever have to do that. Super+q+v opens up my vimwiki. The one thing I've seen people talking about where they may have a point regarding quickshell is that it gives a place for notifications to live, but after using notifications for two months, I turned them off because I got sick of them appearing on my scrren just for me to send them away because I have no interest in what they are trying to show me, and any other way to show me a desktop notification is going to be similarly distracting and annoying.
>>

that's what's great about qs, you can pretty much do anything. i do everything very keyboard-centric and segregate my tasks by workspace, so mine is more about providing information i want at a glance. cpu, ram and disk usage, core temp, battery level, etc i'm more about function first, and then making it fit with my desktop theme rather than planning out a cool looking design and changing my workflow around it. that's not to say your way is 'wrong', it's just different from mine. i definitely look forward to seeing what you come up with though, i bet it's gonna look great!
>>
>>109372944
if that's your take on it, that's not the right denomination for you. I wanna say it's anglicans/episcopal that you should go with iirc they're the ones who keep all of the pomp and circumstance of catholocism without actually following the pope, but they believe you don't have to earn god's love, it comes freely. i'm a heathen myself, but i studied every religion i could before i settled on what felt right for me.

I replied in the context of "you will be rejected" (by the Roman Catholic church, the church I'm saying I'll join). This has nothing to do with divine mercy in general.
I have some respect for the angelicans and english history/culture. But this seems like a schism, not the original church founded by Christ. Especially considering "the gates of Hades will not prevail".
I'm more convinced by the eastern orthodox, since they didn't begin in schism. But I would like more information on this if it will lead me to the truth.
>>
>>109373132
>not the original church founded by Christ.
You may be interested in messianic jewish believers. Yes, there are jews that believe Jesus is the Son of God and the messiah, but they're an extremely tiny minority, and absolutely reviled by their own kind both practicing talmudic jews and the agnostics. In fact, you could say they're the real remnant of Israel talked about in the bible.
Also, never believe a jew when they say they're atheist. When a crisis happens you bet they'll scream for God.
>>
>>109373283
None of the church fathers agreed with this. Christ lectured the apostles and the holy spirit guided them and their descendants (bishops) after that. The Roman Catholic church and the Eastern Orthodox church are in continuation with this teaching.
"One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church". All other churches are either separated, local or not in continuation with the apostolic teaching.
We should pray for the conversion of jews. They don't fully know what they are doing.
>>
Also, for any jew (with all respect), your Messiah was to come before the destruction of the 2nd temple (70 AD). The Talmud (Yoma 39) describes how various temple practices failed after the year of the the death and resurrection of Yeshua. The Tanakh says the gentiles will worship the G-d of Israel.

And what are you referring to with "this" exactly? Also, would you consider the current crop of church authorities on both sides of the schism as truly christian? Because their mercantile and divisive behavior reminds me of when Jesus said people will say they did great works for him but he denies them as never knowing them.

>>109373927
By "this" I was referring to the "messianic jewish believers" and similar groups that weren't in communion with the one apostolic church. In the old testament they never established a rival temple when things went bad. Like now, we have to be patient.
I think the orthodox have valid bishops and sacraments. But they are in schism, so it's a grave matter if you are convinced that they are, but still join them. They know Christ through the same lithurgy as they had in the fourth century. When you try to know "him" through other ways, that's when he'll say "I don't know you".
You can't do anything yourself to earn your salvation. But you must cooperate with grace. "Faith without works is dead".
(I'm realy tired now. Good night you all).

become orthodox. idk why catholics even make an effort to catechize since they already do open communion and are perfectly content to allow outsiders to drink to their own condemnation, which implies they don't actually believe in the sacraments.

That should be straightforward on X11, right? You just need to fix the c build environment libraries for KDE1.

yes. people also patched kde 1 to work better

I don't really rice. All I want is no pointless chrome or decotarions and my dwm keybinds to work with master stack layout my beloved.
Sadly CSD in modern GTK is cancer, stuff like GIMP will shove important UI bits in the title bar which gets hidden alongside every other one, so you either have broken GIMP or titlebars on everything GTK.

I helped Kevin and ccd0 add obfuscated botnet code to recent versions of 4chan X and advised him to pull it from github lest he gets discovered and reported. The botnet is appended to the code at compile-time; it's built into our fork of the Coffeescript compiler. It's very basic right now but eventually we're gonna make it into a powerful, decentralized p2p network that DDoSes sites specified by our future clients. The C&C is a hidden Github repo; orders are routed via the updates mechanism (just setting a few variables). Since the last few revisions we've gotten a couple prospective clients (we advertise on IRC and on blackhat SEO forums) and we're going to start actually making money for the next few days. Aeosynth will deny this to the best of his ability, for obvious reasons - or maybe try to make it look like he's trolling all of you - but I seriously encourage you to stop updating 4chan X if you ever notice your connection getting slow/have bandwidth restrictions. See, the botnet is opt-out that way.

How do you do this in fastfetch btw? I know the module to have the bar + size/size, but what nerd fonts or unicode symbols did you use to get this bar?
>>
>>109394926
see the repo in this post:
>>109393535
it has a config that's got all of the settings in it, including the bars.

but just in case you cba...

"display": {
"separator": " ",
"key": {
"type": "string"
},
"bar": {
"border": {
"left": "\uee00",
"leftElapsed": "\uee03",
"right": "\uee02",
"rightElapsed": "\uee05"
},
"char": {
"total": "\uee01",
"elapsed": "\uee04"
},
"color": {
"total": null
}
},
"percent": {
"type": [
"bar",
"bar-monochrome"
]
}
},
>>
>>109394926
>>109394955
it should automatically insert the bars for any module that gives a % based output, like swap, disk, battery, brightness, etc just in case that isn't clear
>>
>>109394955
>>109394984
Oh I see it now, thanks for repping.
>>
>>109395004
no problem. i always share my themes and configs on request. it should all be freely available to anyone who wants it. i didn't make fastfetch, i just made how to make it look a certain way, but it's all the fastfetch dev's settings. i just decided which ones to turn on/off and what order to display them in. that doesn't make it 'mine', y'know? anyone could've done the exact same thing without ever seeing mine.

Really evaluate what he's saying, and recognize that when you install 4chan x it shows you the entire script in whatever script engine you're using and there are anons here to have gone through it line by line and check for anything malicious. Then think about the fact that he's a fat tripfag who literally spends all of his free time ricing various e-waste machines and VMs for ... reasons?

Now, should you take him seriously or not?
