is it real dumb or do they know something I dont

smartphone radiation is giving them brain tumors
>>
that's what people do when they're sending what could condensed into 10 words but into 1:30min instead
>>
They think the microphone detects their voice better
>>
Because they need to look at their phone screen at all times, and you can't do that when you hold it like a normal phone.
>>
>>109346453
Because they want to see the screen, not hear the speaker on the side.
>>
>>109346470
It does.
>>
>>109346453
because it makes your phone run 11% faster if you hold it the right way, steve jobs tried to tell people this but he was ridiculed
>>
>>109346562
There are 5 microphones on your phone. Which one are you talking to has little to no effect in overall sound quality.

My mom and her friends sned like 5min voice messages all the time and she listens to them with family around like everyone fucking wants to know how Susans house plants are doing right now
>>
>>109346589
Wasn't that about the antenna back in the day? Now there is more redundancy but with early smartphones you could accidentaly bridge it I think

>Because they're retarded NPC cattle.
exactly!

When I see someone do this, I make sure never to deal with them. They are second (maybe third) class citizens who should not be allowed to vote, drive nor operate phones & computers. They should not speak until spoken to and are useful only as simple laborers. And of course their deficient genetic material should not be propagated.
>>
>>109346453
Because the microphone is at the bottom, retard.
>>
>>109346453
if you're recording an audio message or have the call on loudspeaker there is no point holding the phone to your ear.
>>
it's because that's how they hold it on reality tv so normies think that's how you're supposed to hold a phone
>>
>>109346453
less radiation, square law and all.
>>
>>109346592
Wrong
>>
>>109349026
why not hold it upside down like you would, I dunno, a microphone?
let me guess, that's TOO silly
>>
>>109350044
Why not just hold it in your hand normally and roughly near your mouth? Are microphones so shit that you need to deepthroat them to get them to pick things up clearly?
>>
>>109346592
Show me where are the 5 microphones on Samsung Galaxy A06
>>
>>109350044
then you wouldn't be able to read the display if you needed to

yes
>>
i dont know nigger cattle conditioned me to do that too
i dont think the microphone is at the bottom even
>>
>>109349017
And? You can hold the phone the same way people have been holding phones for nearly a century, it'll work just fine.
>>
>>109346453
For get the microphone thing, why are they using loud speaker in public?
>>
death penalty for speakerphone mongs
>>
>>109346453
iPhones have their microphones there and a lot of the older gens somehow don't pick up sound very well when you hold it normally, so the next best choice is to speak into the microphone like that.
If not you'll have someone on the other end tell you that they can't hear you very well 20 times

iPhone 17 series seems to have fixed it though but you won't see Apple mention that

Why are phones like this lel
>>
I could have put my fist through my monitor when I saw a communicator being held like this in a Nu-Trek episode. I fucking hate modern Star Trek.
>>
File: 1772425252600270.gif (546 KB, 220x268)
546 KB GIF
I see a lot of boomers do this, they put it on loud speaker and then talk extremely loudly into the phone. I don't even understand why since I grew up during the time of landlines still being everywhere along with big old brick cellphones and I use modern phones normally.

>>109353812
I think the only Nu-Trek season I even enjoyed slightly was S1 of Discovery, but that quickly turned to shit by S2. All the other new shows were horrific and disgusting.
>>
>>109346453
Because all phone manufacturers put the speaker there after they fell for the no bezel meme (shittiest idea ever). Normies talk like that so they can actually hear fucking anything at the same time
>>
>>109346453
They probably have it on loud speaker
>>
>>109353612
I have only ever seen black people do that
>>
Why are you all so monstrously retarded? Every single post in this thread is completely wrong. Modern phones are big. Women's hands are small. It's that simple.
>>
>>109350075
>Are microphones so shit that you need to deepthroat them to get them to pick things up clearly?
No but many people think they are.
I know several people who talk loud as fuck whenever using a microphone.

Especially my boomer mom on long distance calls.
We have family in a different country and when she's on the phone with them she's practically yelling.
>>
>>109354197
Why do they do it? I genuinely don't get it, they didn't do it on old phones but do it on modern phones.
>>
>>109354204
The people I know do it on old phones as well as new ones and also webcams and such.
I think it's just a psychological thing: the idea of talking to someone far away makes them raise their voice like their voice has to cover the distance.

It's also no use explaining, it seems to happen subconsciously.
>>
muscle memory makes you hold everything like this when you suck too much cock
>>
Doesn't every single normie have those in-ears that include a microphone?

I never use the microphone on my phone because my noise cancelling headphones have much better microphones, much better audio that's also isolated from any ambient sounds and keeps both my hands free.
>>
>>109346592
umm ackshually.. it has huge effect because some of them are used for noise cancelling
so during a phone call, unless using the loudspeaker, you will get best results if you hold the phone to your ear, because then the bottom mic is close enough to you're mouth and the top one is far enough so its feed more accurately represents the noise profile of your surroundings
>>
>>109353825
it's probably just hearing loss (due to age and such)
they can't hear the other side very well and subconsciously raise their own voice
>>
>>109346453
I have only ever seen third world immigrants do it. I assume because they've never even held a regular phone in their lives and literally don't know how to even hold a phone properly.
>>
>>109354272
>those in-ears that include a microphone
My mom has these, several in fact. Never uses them. Holds the phone like OP's pic.
>>
>>109350467
Show me any worthwile communication someone with a Galaxy A06 can have
>>
Everyone now communicates with FaceTime on speaker phone
>>
>>109348118
yes, he told people they were holding whatever model iPhone it was wrong
>>
my wife talks like that
that's because her speaker is broken, and she has to use loudspeaker
but I have no idea why other people do this
also, I should buy my wife the new phone
>>
>>109349026
Right but these are often full blown dialogues not one off messages. Then they move to pic related
>>
OP pic is a much more comfortable position for arm and shoulder, that can be held engaging only skeletal muscles.

Not that I care since earphones are the only correct way to have a phone call longer than 30 seconds.

>>
>>109358348
That's close to your mouth when you talk on it, yes.
>>
>>109346468
>>109348108
I only see zoomers do this. Always video calls, always speaker phone, then after talking for a bit, everyone on the group call kinda just ignores each other while they're all on camera, visible and audible to everyone else while they don't interact at all. It's fucking insane
>>
>>109346453
Everyone hold phone this way in my country. In my country you are freak.
>>
>>109346453
Easier to hold while you're not really paying attention so it doesn't slide out of your hand or something.
Brings the mic closer to your mouth while keeping the screen far enough away so you can still read it. If the lady in your pic was holding the phone upright while having the mic that close, the screen would be touching her nose and she wouldn't be able to read the screen.
This is all very obvious stuff.
>>
>>109346453
undeveloped country fear of smartphone radiation
>>
The emergence of voice messages has been a disaster for human communications in general
>>
>muh screen
Be honest. How many of these "people" are actually looking at their screen?
>>
>>109365492
They're not. It's not so they can look at the screen.
>>
>>109346453
small girl hands, my mom can't hold her smartphone the normal way (when she did try the only comfortable way had her pinky covering the mic hole), she holds the home phone normally
>>
>>109346453
