idiot of me, built a PC with 16GB DDR5 a month before the situation changed radically. Now i am thinking on becoming a criminal and steal RAM seller's supplies, because i think that the civil case that would have to be fulfilled for my crime would be way cheaper than paying for RAM

Same boat here. Built a PC with 16 GB I bought off a work-mate who was upgrading his PC, he had another stick but left it at home that day, said he'd bring it in later but I got laid off.
My old PC with a 2nd gen i7 had 32 even. This new one shits itself and crashes if I try to play a game and leave 2 web-browsers open at the same time.
