>ADATA Chairman Warns DRAM Shortage Will Last Another 10 Years, Says AI Bubble Talk Can Wait Until 2040https://wccftech.com/adata-chairman-warns-dram-shortage-will-last-another-10-years-ai-bubble-talk-can-wait-until-2040/
>>109349962there's a good chance Chinese ram will be usable in a year so... the world will heal long before that.
the memory cartel finally has the guts to make supply below demand a permanent fixture and charge whatever they want and they don't even care since they have AI to sell to. They're just laughing at us now seeing how much they can torture us. meanwhile the memory cartel simps cheer the higher prices on like it makes them part of a leet club when they're just big memory's bitches. unless forced the memory cartel will never meet demand ever again
>>109350010Keep wishing anon, Chinese RAM is inferior to anything the West makes and China are slapping export bans on it anyway
>>109349962And yet somehow in just a few weeks there will be all the RAM you want for sale. Every time anything like this happens, it just quietly stops happening and if you mention it, people look at you funny.
>>109350073are... are you saying the rampocalypse is ending in a few weeks? are you ok? is the ram in the room with you now?
>>109350122Peak oilHelium shortageetc etc etc etcThose who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat itLearn some history
>>109350064for now. people used to laugh at chinese evs. nobody is laughing now.
>>109350318ok if you believe the memory manufacturers will give up price gouging out of the goodness of their hearts or the fĂȘted AI datacenter bubble burst egg when the most likely scenario is ram makers will keep restricting supply and increasing prices and the AI boom will continue unabated. but keep wishing for a ram crash and oversupply anon!!!!
>>109350318Still waiting on Peak GPU prices to drop. Oh wait, they won't because no company would ever drop prices when people are willing to pay the higher price. This applies to houses, apartments, cars, food of any kind, etc.
>>109350010If that actually happens, governments will just ban them on "national security" or some other bullshit.
>>109350511American? sure, i can see that. after all banning any and all competition seems to be your thing. i also doubt mine will.
>Says AI Bubble Talk Can Wait Until 2040lel
>>109349962> pls buy my products now, prices will stay high for over 9000 time units, trust me bro
>>109350318What past history can we reference that involved AI and all the tech we have today?
Luddites can't seem to catch a break lol
>inb4 this happens>no end in sight!!>china floods market with usable DRAM not great but good enough for End User Compute and non-enthusiasts>OEM's using all chang brand ram> DRAM people cry>suddenly after losing a ton of baseline sales DRAM companies just so happen to find a NEW way to increase production
>>109352098Here you go sweetieI have like a dozen of these History... pattern recognition...
>>109353316Well done outing yourself as a retard.
>>109350010Trump will ban it.
>>109350073>>109350318Here are two people who pay attention, can remember more than a month, and have pattern recognition skills! *Thumbs up*
>>109350318Oil is becoming more expensive though. Just because a theory doesn't come true at a certain time doesn't necessary mean its entire premise or every variation of it is wrong.
>>109350511>>109353685>>109346614Not my problem. You voted for orange man now deal with it.
>>109349962me in the red shirt, but I couldn't run a marathon
>>109350318Oil pricing has continued to increase for decades though, the only time it got low was when the pandemic meant nobody in most of the world was driving anywhere (kino time for my country since I was driving for the fun of it and refilled my tank 2 or 3 times a day with cheap fuel from all the driving I was doing daily).
>>109354176
>>109354161Only one of those posters is me and I don't vote. ALL 1st world politicians are controlled. Doesn't matter what country, party, race, religion, etc. Every single one is controlled.
>>109354205The whole world is controlled by insane retards who think everybody else is insanely retarded. They're half right.
>>109350476>ok if you believe the memory manufacturers will give up price gouging out of the goodness of their heartsNo. Competition will destroy them as it always done.Read a history book you retarded leftoidthis "goodness of their hearts" bullshit is an ancient strawman by economic illiterates
>>109354226It sounds like they're getting nervous about the Chinese made RAM considering there's such a push to keep it from being imported into the US. That and the Korean/Chinese made AI system tokens are also far cheaper than the US based companies.I just want OpenAI to fold already.
>>109354224Whole world is controlled by cannibalistic baby raping psychopaths who will do anything to keep & grow their power, wealth, & control.
>>109354243Yes. Bluebeans soon.
friendly reminder the same exact memory cartel (samsung, hynix and micron) got caught and fined in 2002 for doing the same exact shit they're doing now. look it up. they have the capacity for consumer dram, hbm ai memory isn't even the same manufacturing process, they are just using it as a convenient excuse to coordinate price fixing that benefits members of the cartel with 90% market share. it is telling that winbond and nanya outside the cartel are expanding through the supposedly unprofitable consumer markets
>>109354241>I just want OpenAI to fold already.good luck having that happen when the US keeps printing tens of trillions of dollars to prop up the bubble
If I'm still too poor to spend $500 on ram by 2030 then I will most likely have bigger things to worry about and that should be the last of my fucking concerns.
Hopefully the next time something significant to improve AI comes out the ideal hardware won't be produced in a way that impacts something else, or it's going to be even worse next time. Although if that happened, then it would probably only be sold at prices for business use and there won't be even overpriced personal versions.
>>109350073This has unironically been how most of previous ordeals have resolved...Remember all the talks about the shortages and supply chain breakdowns (which never even appeared in the first place) during and post the plandemic?Remember how the MSM was touting a COVID recession? Two to three years after the rona was already forgotten (which was about 4 months after the lockdowns were lifted)
>>109349962The Chinese will save us (but not the US)
>>109350469>driving any kind of ev, ever
>>109354226you dumbass there is no competition, you free market kikes think "the market" will step in and "correct" but that can only happen when the barriers to entry aren't insurmountable. You're clearly tech illiterate - no company can afford the hundreds of billions to trillions of investment to try and compete with the RAM oligopoly. that's why they're an oligopoly. even china with its state-backed companies doesn't have the technology to produce ram that meets the standard of Western RAM. fucktards like you immediately think "the market" will fix everything but every year the oligopoly is getting improved ram technology making any competition infeasible. even in your idealized scenario of a competitor blowing up the market to sell ram to consumers will take 10 years. you're a dumbass
>>109350010i don't know if you've noticed, but they need ram for their datacenters too
>>109350318>>109354226>>109355516wtf is it with people hoping for a free market fix? that's not coming, not on the horizon, nobody is talking about that other than China which has outdated tech and export bans for the crappy RAM they do make.
