My father is a small business owner, and a lot of his time is spent billing out invoices on QuickBooks. Just from watching what he does, the job seems like it'd be perfect to delegate to an AI assistant.

I was thinking about gifting him a Mac mini one of these days and helping him set it up so he could have some more free time. Is this a good idea?

No.

Why?

Only if your father is willing to proofread everything the clawnker produces. This does still reduce overall effort required.
>>
put OpenClaw to do what exactly? if you dad already uses all quickbooks features why would you make thing worse by using two things
>>
>Hey Dad, here's a device that will save you time!
>Okay son, how does it work and how will it save me time?
>Oh, I don't know how it will work. And you have spend time to set it up, then you have to spend time to get it to work..

If you were my son, I'd get the belt out at this point.

How about you set it yourself dumbass, then if it actually saves you time, you give it to him instead of making him waste his time trying to setup something you don't know will work.

>put OpenClaw to do what exactly?
He wants to use it to automate his billing.

wouldnt recommend an AI for invocing...you want someone accountable for that. it might make sense for AR, where it's does something like "email a reminder every asshole 30 days overdue who still owes me money" thats pretty easy to track. an AI invoicer getting things wrong will really piss people off (customers if you over charge, your father if you undercharge)

set up openclaw (or hermes) with something like VAPI and have it answer calls for your dads biz

dont know how he interact with clients, by email? whatsapp? in person? and doesnt QuickBooks already does this? maybe theres some mcp outhere but bet its paid service
also i belive openclaw is prone to prompt injection, like any other ai assistant, i would not put that bastard doing automaticly billing.

just get the chatgpt or claude apps
you can literally just talk to them now and they'll do shit
they can schedule recurring stuff as well
$100 plan and your dad can just yap to his gpt girlfriend of an hour and a half every 5 hours
$200 plan and he can literally just leave it running in voice mode all day
just a warning - it'll break his brain

Id just like to remind you that openclaw has full access to your computer, and only dumb small models can run on a mac mini. enjoy getting prompt injected
>>

>dont know how he interact with clients
By email.

>>109359581
Yeah, but can it automate what he does? He wants to set it up in a way where he can just manage it while he's away on vacation or something from his phone without having to manually sit down and do it himself.
>>
>>109359070
Too risky to use, it could end up messing up all your data irreparably. It could also end up communicating with your clients in a manner you would not approve

If you can afford $10k/ month in tokens
>>
>>109359070
use a macro
>>
>>109359867
yes, the apps are basically claws now if you leave them running. he can just ask them to schedule repeating tasks.
if you get a gpt sub it'll work in openclaw as well - claude won't - they ban you for that shit.

KEK

Use Claude cowork, and a $20 subscription. Anthropic has the QuickBooks connector already, and there is an official mcp server if that doesn't do enough. I set this up for my parents small business too, trust me, it's easier for them and when they run into issues they have Claude help them

Waaa ai bad waaaahhhh, grow up manlet
>>
>>109359070
You need to quality control it.
Giving it access to editing financials is a bad idea.

>warning it will make shit up
Yes.
