>buys 3 Google Pixels with GrapheneOS
>continues using one of the most privacy-hostile and manipulative platforms in existence
>voluntarily hands over credit card details, a live selfie video, and government-issued photo ID for a blue tick

the "privacy community" on X is totally braindead.
>>
>>109359836
Nah, it's just emotional nonsense like you see with the Linux fundamentalists, 'fuck microsoft' while continuing using chrome & YouTube. It's all FUD to get you paranoid so you are far more manipulable.
>>
Does installing Graphene get rid of the proprietary firmware on the pixel?
>>
>>109359924
OH NO NO NO! YOU CAN'T ASK THIS QUESTION! THIS IS HARASSMENT! MISINFORMATION ALERT! WEE WOO WEE WOO! CALLING ALL GRAPHENE CULTISTS! WE HAVE A HERETIC HERE!

>Does installing Graphene get rid of the proprietary firmware on the pixel?
As far as I know you have binary blobs (without them the OS won't boot) when using custom roms.
https://github.com/TheMuppets These are typically used.
If I remember right Graphene OS had access to the code of some devices then Google stopped that and replaced it with cuttlefish: https://source.android.com/docs/devices/cuttlefish
>>
>>109359952
You are retarded. Everyone knows almost 100% of computers cannot work without proprietary firmware blobs.

all blue tick "privacy advocates" on X are total hypocrites.

The only thing stopping me from using Graphene is the fact that Cashapp and Venmo don't work on it. Lineage had this problem solved ages ago.

How? Tell me about it. You Use root access to gaslight the applications?

Privacy is about what data you wish to share with whom, not about becoming a ghost, last seen on some stores cctv in 2004

How do you decide who gets which data?
>>
>>109361167
By carefully picking which services get your data and checking how they use it

I don't use any social media but I also don't tell anyone that he can't be private without living in the woods

Do I even need to assume the country of origin is anything but India, SEA or any other?

Here is the redpill, there is no such thing as privacy on the internet, the internet is designed to be transparent as possible things like https/tls and whatever are bandage solutions by that I mean partial.
>>
>>109359836
oh yeah wow xitter is definitely the last place you'd expect to see someone larping, it is quite unbelievable innit?

kek, cuckene OS is just a droidjeet cope anyways.
>>
>>109362049
It's not just black and white. You don't have to go all or nothing with privacy. You can find your own balance between protection and usability. And GrapheneOS gives users the choice how far they want to take it. And still provides better security and privacy even if you do choose to run all sorts of social media and Google apps.

It's always worth maintaining your privacy if your goal is to maintain your privacy. Nude beaches aren't illegal but I don't want to walk around naked in public.
>>
>>109366614
I don't have a single thing to hide. I still don't want anyone looking unless I choose to.

idk why these stupid faggots shit on graphene for not being completely perfect in some respect. Like what are they advocating to go to a completely pozzed OS instead then because this one isn't "perfect"
>>
>>109359924
it doesn't get rid of your IMEI number which appears on every network you connect to. if you are a person of interest using a mobile, they can deduce where and who you are based on your IMEI and your patterns. most people will never be a person if interest and are larping. true persons of interest just don't keep a tracked hand sized computer on their person.
>>
>>109366993
yep i use grapheneos more for the degoogling than extra security
>>
>>109359836
I mostly use open source shit because it works better.
it has it's quirks but you can fix the quirks.
Once something like Windows has some annoying issue, it's there forever.
>>
>>109366614
I literally just used vercrypt in case i need to cash in on my drives warranty policy, rather not send literally all my data back to them. Normies are just so fucking retarded and gay I'm glad the gov is taking over and raping them I'm going to cheer it on from my privacy bunker just to spite them
>>
>>109366993
"most people will never be a person of interest and are larping"
Kek
>>
>>109366993
again so what's your alternative? if you're not a person of interest go on a completely pozzed os by goygle or itoddler? more privacy isn't a fucking bad thing even if it's not "perfect" privacy
>>
none of you have anything worth hiding
>>
>>109367316
NTA, but is there even an OS that obfuscates both IMSI and IMEI while still working?
>>
>>109359915

Those aren't ideological driven people, those are just "my heckin performace" people, the SteamOS crowd.

>>

This is schizo logic. Kill yourself.
>>
>>109367471
idk, dont even know if this is a legitimate concern, but even if true absolutely no reason to instead install an os that shoves all the shitware and adware in your face it can while highest privileging itself to track literally every screentap and breath you take, or doesn't even allow you to install apps in the fashion that you want to, so i dont get the point of shitting on graphene in this regard
>>
>>109367509
Graphene is fine and I don’t expect it to be perfect. It suffices if it’s not pozzed. I meant more from a total privacy perspective. The OS would need to override both IMEI and IMSI and it would need to rotate both constantly while on the network or you’d be traceable, no?
>>
Daily reminder that the glowing niggers who post these daily threads will never engage with you when you cite proof that refutes their asinine claims. But they will instead mass report you and get the jannies to sweep for them. How's the weather in Mumbai????

I don't have a social media account because I'm too lazy to maintain one and apperantly its a massive ick for women? All my conversations just stop when they ask for my insta and I say I don't have one. They usually assume I do have a social media account but trying to hide it, or worse, that I'm some weirdo serial killer.
>>
>>109367618
I appreciate your reminder
