Should they release another CPU generation for AM4? The 5000 series came out in 2020 and DDR4 and the AM4 socket are still capable.
no it would be a retarded waste of resources
>>109363150If they released a 16C X3D CPU on AM4 I'd totally buy it. I still use AM4 in my home server with a 5950X, something like a hypothetical 5950X3D would be perfect for me to ship off the 8 X3D cores to a heavy VM I'm running anyway.
>>109363150Just be happy with the fact they re-released the 5800x3d and lap up the scraps poorfag
>>109363247I am happy with it but there's nothing wrong with asking for more.
>>109363150Just make an AM4.5 that has LGA but uses DDR4 RAM
>>109363150they should create a IO die for AM4 that let Zen6 work on AM4.IO die handles memory, not the CCD.Thus there should not be any reason for Zen 6 to not work with AM4.
No fuck off, AM4fags have had enough CPUs already.
>>109363150i thought the were releasing the 5800x3d? i soldd my last one bought a sapphire rapids es chip. was thinking of remaking my pentium coffeelake server with am4 or some intel es
16 core 5900x was on sale like a month ago. You don't need more.
Both AM4 and AM5 should get dies with HBM memory. If the chinks only want to do these, then we use these.16GB super fast internal memory, 16GB whatever the hell you need memory, and that's it.
>>109363164It would be the opposite of a waste of resources. It would extend the life of the AM4 platform rather than require complete replacement.
>>109365441> would extend the life of the AM4 platformand how does this generate a RRS for a holistic AI-centered approach to deliver value to the shareholders?AMD makes more money selling Epyc and Instinct than catering to AM4 poorfags
>>109363150bot engagement thread.do not reply.
>>109365494This is 4chan. There is no reason to care about engagement.
>>109363150>wasting fab capacity on obsolete shitretardedyou’d rather want a mobo that supports both ddr4 and ddr5 if you’re a poorfag. mobos aren’t anywhere near as crunched as chip makers
>>109363150they should but they're boxed in by crappy old b350/450s with 16MB bios ROMs. it already caused them a great deal of headache to support zen3 and zen3 x3d on those boards years ago.i believe that's why they didn't bother making a faster higher clocked 5850x3d when they easily could have, since it saves them a great deal of trouble trying to support even more cpus on obsolete motherboards
>>109363150They should stop releasing new sockets at all if you truly cared about DYI PC gaming. OK maybe like every 20 years or something. But Gam3rs enjoy getting cucked.
>>109365466I thought you meant "waste of resources" in a moralistic way, not as in a what serves the company profit margin best way. Yeah you're probably correct.
>>109365494Bots unironically make better threads than anons half the time these days and are the only thing keeping the site alive
My brother was complaining that his PC from 2018 slowed down whenever he had lots of browser tabs open or was working with large Excel files. He had a Ryzen 2600X, I upgraded him to a Ryzen 5800XT and installed a new CPU cooler, the performance issues disappeared. I think that AM4 PC will survive for another 5 years.
>>109363164With how expensive DDR5 is, it totally would make sense
>>109365494I'm at the point where I'll reply to the jeets and bots over le 56%ers, who just bitch and whine that jeets and bots exist and terk merr jerbs.
>>109363150Considering how things are going, I wouldn't be surprised if they did lol
>>109363150>Should they release another CPU generation for AM4? The 5000 series came out in 2020 and DDR4 and the AM4 socket are still capable. There's obviously still a market for them, especially with these increasing ram prices. Wouldn't surprise me if they keep making them until the equipment breaks down at this rate.
>>109363150I'm still waiting for a cheap used 5950x to come up used, then my 3900x can finally retire and I won't even think about my hardware for at least 3 years.
>>109369988the relaunched 5800x3d has been on sale for like 280 with a free AIO on newegg, unless you need the threads thats a much better upgrade imo.
>>109369988I bought a 5950x when they were on sale a year ago or something, still haven't started using it and it's lying around somewhere.
>>109370213more cores for less whores homie
>>109363150Consoom product and be excited for new product.
>>109370278you should consider the 12600k it runs circles around the 5950x and it can do ddr4 too so you'd only need to swap board+cpu.
>>109363150From a manufacturer standpoint? No reason to make obsolete hardware unless your newer stock starts pilling up. And even then it probably makes sense to keep running then at a lower production level. It really depends for how long the memory shortages may go on, no reason for anyone to make/buy new AM4 if the shortages clear in a year. It may only be worth it if it keeps for three years or so (but no one can tell so safer to just wait, which is what everyone is doing).
