Will this work? Two separate Windows 11 installation on the same PC?Using two separate drives? One will be for gaming, and one for work.Don't ask why. Just want to know if it will work.
>>109363406Why not?
>>109363406I did that but with Windows 7 because I had to share the computer with my sister.
>>109363406you will get sick of rebooting into the game drive.just use virtual machines for work.
Probably, but depending on the work you're doing you might just want to try a virtual machine.
>>109363439>>109363440Is that secure?I work for the government and I deal with confidential spreadsheets. Nothing too crazy. No spy shit. But it's mostly internal budgeting and project logs and shit like that. Now I want to try pirating games. My biggest concern right now is getting malware or ransomware and compromising my gov files. My plan is to encrypt my work OS with bitlocker for extra security, but idk...
>>109363475>I work for the government and I deal with confidential spreadsheets.>My plan is to encrypt my work OS with bitlocker for extra security, but idk...Yeah yeah do that, because microsoft can be trusted to encrypt files properly.
>>109363475>I work for government>I want to pirate gamesDo you even realize what you are saying, anon? Get another computer.
>>109363508I just might. But these prices, man.
>>109363519Is it worth risking government specific data?Let alone pirated games, I wouldn't even connect that thing to internet.
>>109363475BitLocker is dogshit.Use VeraCrypt
Shouldn't they have given you a computer? Are they really trusting people to do shit on their own machine?
>>109363561I have my own PC at work. That's where I'm planning to install the second drive / OS for pirated games so I'll have something to do during downtime.Wow. Now that I typed it, I realize what a terrible idea this was.
>>109363475>I work for the government>Now I want to try pirating games.Use a second computer and get a KVM. Airgap the work computer from the rest of your home network.Holy shit I love being my own boss. Outlook on one screen. All the RMM shit on my right. Boobies on the big screen. The boobs can live right next to my work.
>>109363586>I have my own PC at work. That's where I'm planning to install the second drive / OS for pirated games so I'll have something to do during downtime.Jesus Christ>Wow. >Now that I typed it, I realize what a terrible idea this was.Damn right. Just do what normal cube cattle do and play gachaslop on your phone or something.
>>109363475what agency doesn't provide work laptops? This is absurd
>>109363475Just get a cheap laptop for work stuffyou can hook it to your monitor and keybord/mouse
>>109364960>>109363475also, game pirating doesnt have to be dangerous if you get your content from trusted sources.Ive been pirating since 2008, I never got any nasty stuff (that Im aware of) I dont even have an anti virus since a couple of yearsBut my important files are encrypted with veracrypt & backed up to a separate drive periodically
>>109363630he doesn't actually work for the government anon. he is using that as shorthand for saying he wants that level of security. you are supposed to act as if its real for the purpose of the thread.
>>109363519I would normally say fuck the government. But I don't want you to go to jail anon
>>109363630>>109365091I work for the government. But not USA.I'm a third worlder and BROWN (not Indian, I need to clarify)
>>109363406yeah it'll work and they'll install perpetual spyware and they'll remotely wipe your entire hard drive that has confidential files once you're done too
Windows doesn't like another OS being on a machinedual booting is a meme and done for, has been since windows 10just Bing it. "windows fucked up my grub" "windows update fucked up my dual boot" I'm completely done with Windows outside my work computers. Yeah, it sucks there are programs that don't work on Linux but do not realistically expect a Windows computer to respect the other drive it "can't see"
really think when your gaming drive gets hacked installing mods it wont infect your other drive?
Get something pic related and take out the government drive while gaming.
>>109365157>quadruple booting macOS, Windows 10, 11 IoT LTSC, and a stinky old version of OS X>on the same drive>they all play niceSkill issue. Key is to install them "in order", OS X -> macOS -> 10 -> 11. OCLP does an amazing job of tardwrangling them.
But why
>>109363406Dumb jeet detected.Just buy a used or refurbished laptop and do your work from there, there's plenty on amazon. You're fucking concerned about security but then have a stupid urge to pirate games on a separate drive. You make govt workers look like they have 100+ IQ compared to you.
>>109363406I guess, UEFI will decide which drive to boot when you use separate drives so you could mix and match whatever the fuck.
>>109365157>Windows doesn't like another OS being on a machineFalse.I installed XP, 7, 8.1, 10, and 11. It depends on the order and editing the ISOs in the case of XP.
>>109363475If you're unsure then don't fucking do it man.
>>109365136Putang ina mo. Use virtual machine unless you're bobo to operate one. Stay safe leeching, parasite.
>>109365136>a fucking flipExplains a lot. Okay, so you're retarded enough to think installing two of the same operating systems and pirating games on one and thinking viruses and RATs won't bleed into the other drive WHICH USES THE SAME FUCKING FORMATTING. Just nope. Get two machines, save your fucking money and don't play games until you buy a 2nd machine if you don't need to give it to your mamacita in your barrio.
I hope the IT department is competent and reports you
>>109365579This. Configure it in the BIOS.>>109365674>t. corpo boot licker
I would probably just skip the hassle and build two separate machines.
>>109363475you wont get sick of it don't listen to these retarded faggots it adds like 6 seconds to your boot time. M.2s boot in like 1.3 seconds it has never been a better time to just boot multiple drives I've had a dual setup for like 5 years and it works easy
>>109363586Just get a Steam Deck, assuming you aren't looking to play graphically demanding games.
