Apple did the absolute smartest thing they could possibly do with the AI arms race; nothing. Whoever at apple convinced the CEO not to jump on the bandwagon is worth their weight in gold. AI is the future, they knew this, hence siri. but tim fired the guy behind siri because of attitude and nothing else, and since them apple has been completely dying when it comes to technology. even network folders are still buggy to this day on apple silicon

Every Apple desktop chip since the M1 was a NPU, so technically they did lay the groundwork before the hype and probably had a laid out plan for the future that is/was more focused around local models.

Honestly i don't think they need to push AI like Microsoft did. Apple is hardware company, not software. Macos/ios are good and i'm glad they didn't add shit like copilot in system. Siri is shit, just like google voice assitant too. Never used them.
