Quite harder than on a desktop OS, but over time more vulnerabilities will show up and that will make it more possible, but hackers target corporation because that's where the money is at rather that users. I would say if your bank still supports your android version then they think it is secure enough.
Because banks typically stop people form using things like rooting and custom roms. I am think out loud, I could be wrong.

Practically impossible actually, and first you would need to install an app containing a virus.

What's the status for the oldest Android phones? If I were to put a sim card in like a Galaxy S2 would it just get insta-hacked?
Or is it like Windows where even Windows 95 is safe to hook up to the internet because the malware entry point is not continual port scanning of the entire internet but rather websites that don't fucking work on a Windows that old
>>
>>109368054
There's ISP level firewalls and router level firewalls this meme of "Oh I connected and instantly got hacked" is bullshit besides maybe with severely insecure routers running default passes now, which ends up with the router itself hacked first and then devices on the network compromised likely regardless of how updated they are since the attacker has network level access by that point.

Your bank app also fucking expired you stupid bitch, you need the latest android phone to get telemetry and fingerprinting updates now

My bank app requires Android 11. It's only a matter of time before they up the base android version again.
I hate jewgle for ruining custom rom.
>>
>>109368054
it would just work but impossible to install anything because everything is deprecated, you would need to go to internet archive digging for compatible apks, in any case, the phone would be so slow that it won't even require a crypto miner infection to be unusable

Depends on the exploit, but android is actually really safe and everything is sandboxed by default, most "hacks" are social engineering and shit like ADware spyware launchers, that replace your default launcher. So yes, you are relatively safe. Still there is a chance of some nasty exploits, just install LineageOS and give it new life.

How hard is it to not get into debt anon? What is it that your spending it on?

Source? I'm not saying your lying but I doubt they are filtering traffic to customers, I'm aware that every router comes with some level of "firewall" to prevent malicious connections. I understand that ISPs provide filtering through their DNS service. Is that the firewall you’re talking about?
>>
>>109366495
nah, that's pretty accurate actually.

To answer your question: its definitely unwise to continue using an unpatched phone for critical tasks like banking.
