FAQ:
>How do I activate Windows?
HWID2 generates and registers a permanent legitimate license on MS's activation servers
github.com/massgravel/Microsoft-Activation-Scripts
Usage: paste this into Powershell, run.
irm https://get.activated.win | iex

>and Office?
Same link, select Ohook option
You can also use Office.com if your needs are very minimal
or try OnlyOffice/LibreOffice and set it to save in MSOffice file formats

>W10 Enterprise IoT LTSC 2021

>W11 Enterprise IoT LTSC 2027
Same as 2024 version except:
UI being rewritten in native WinUI
ETA: 2027H2

>Installing apps on LTSC
Use WinGet/Scoop or install MS Store in CMD with: wsreset -i

What's next after 10 LTSC becomes too outdated to be usable? 11 is unusable straight up and the native rewrite won't make the crappy Microsoft philosophy go away, even with 10 I feel at times Bill is breathing down my neck or that I'm not fully in control of what my system does.
>>
>>109367979
I'd probably switch to 11 iot ltsc in 2027 when the new version is out. I don't really have any issues with windows 11, but it sucks that it's so memory hungry compared to windows 10.

Massgrave has links to this Buzz website, is it legit? Never heard of it. Or should I just use Media Creation Tool? I only want the ISO for DISM repair.
>>
>>109371910
Buzzheavier is a good file service.
>>
>>109371910
you can download isos from microsoft directly, just google windows 10/11 download
you have to download isos for windows 10 on a phone or tablet or something, since windows won't let you do that. it's no biggie though, just plug in a cable and transfer it afterwards
>>
>>109371910
You can indeed use the MCT if you want, just run it via command line to force it to create an Enterprise ISO.
But downloading ISOs from massgrave's repo via buzzheavier is also fine.
>>
>>109372142
>>109372152
My problem is: I've read somewhere that for DISM you need your ISO to be the exact same version as the system you have right now. I don't know if I want to fiddle with this shit, should I just use MCT or the reset option from Settings to get my PC to work properly? My general problem is that updates glitched out and I haven't been able to install cumulative updates for like 3-4 months.
>>
>>109372208
Well it all comes down to what edition of Windows you're using as you can just get the latest July cumulative ISO that includes it and repair upgrade with that.

If you notice your Start Menu on LTSC 2021 takes well above 1 second to launch when clicking, make sure to set the registry "EnShellFeedsTaskbarViewMode" (if it exists) to 2 in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Feeds. It fully disables the "News and Interests" widget. If it doesn't exist, that also disables it.

One-liner commmand prompt to add or edit it to 2:
REG ADD "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Feeds" /v EnShellFeedsTaskbarViewMode /t REG_DWORD /d 2 /f
>>
>>109377042
no, it's just OP guessing it. It is confirmed that more windows components are getting rewritten but no 27H2 LTSC is confirmed, it's just assumed based on previous releases
>>
>>109372142
>you can download isos from microsoft directly
As far as I know, you can't download W10 LTSC 2021 directly from MS
In any case it doesn't matter anyway since you can just verify the ISO's checksum

Unless you use StartAllBack (alternatively ExplorerPatcher or various Windhawk mods), it is what it is
Otherwise feel free to experiment with custom visual styles that try their most to remedy it, at least with the Win32 side of the GUI (apparently the one that is bundled with Rectify11 seems to be faithful)

OK, I'm fucked...
I've tried everything that I can possibly try and maybe I'm just doing it very very wrong.
Breakdown:
>have a shit box laptop that is nearly dead, it had a good life.
>buy a cheap arse former business machine to replace it (not for gaming, just for my online life and other things too survive)
>it has a SSD
>but no OS
I've tried installing a portable winX from USB, but nothing.
Everything seems so damn hard, I was even thinking of all the versions of Linux, but because I am retard.... that would be even more stupid.
Please help. :(

Okay so you have a Windows install USB, but it didn't work when trying to install to the new machine? You need to give more details.
>>
>>109389632
You don't install with a portable version, you run the portable version from your BIOS. If you want to install it to your SSD then put an installer on your USB. It's very easy to look up how.

Retard here.
While I despise windows I reset my original windows installation with a windows 11 LTSC installation for my grandma’s (formerly mine) computer.
Now, I tried to get phone sync working since it’s supposed to conveniently support phone notifications and she likes it, while the Bluetooth part of syncing seems to work entirely fine (phone shows up, syncs just fine), the actual widget/app or whatever the fuck for phone syncing will bitch and moan about it not being connected, how do I fix this?
I suspect it’s because the phone itself (IPhone 4/5S?) is too old itself, or because windows is retarded and fucked something up on installation.
>>
>>109389632
Can't you just get an .iso and use rufus to create a boot drive? just make sure the usb comes first in boot order and it should be fine

Windows 10 just introduced me to a brand new issue I didn't think possible. When I press the Sleep button in the Start menu, the monitor just goes black, like when you don't give the PC input for too long. But that's it, it doesn't enter sleep mode, and moving the mouse turns the screen back on, again just like if it turned off due to inactivity. This started happening yesterday evening. Does anyone know how to fix this?
>>
>>109392821
Might be a program blocking the full sleep. What does "powercfg /requests" show?

You can give unactivated Windows 7 to Windows 10 free upgrade a try even if Microsoft claimed that they shut down that method 3 years ago.

>>
>>109399384
When you set everything to security/lowest level in Enterprise-based editions the only stuff that gets sent to MS is very generic hardware info so Windows Update knows what to do.
>>
>>109366891
How do you guys deal with not having wifi during installation? How do you find your wifi drivers if they aren’t on your motherboards drivers (msi)
>>
>>109399699
If the generic drivers that Windows includes don't work for you you can always just use your phone to download the wireless driver for your MSI motherboard and move it over to the tower. You could also in the future use Snappy Driver Installer Origin and download its network driver package to just have on a USB with you so you don't need to worry about shit like this again.
>>
>>109366891
What are some programs you guys would consider essential? I plan on making custom ISOs for a bunch of Windows versions that include additional software. So far I have 7-Zip, VLC and WinDirStat.
>>
>>109399699
If you really can't plug in an ethernet cable, some solutions are either putting the specific driver you need on a USB drive, or using SDIO on another machine to make a USB drive that contains every network driver and will detect and install the one you need
