In test-driven development:

- **RED:** Write a test for the desired behavior and confirm it fails for the expected reason.
- **GREEN:** Implement the smallest correct change that makes the test pass.
- **REFACTOR:** Improve the implementation while keeping all tests green.

Reposting just once.
I'm saying this for anyone out there who needs to hear it - I tested various things on my real project, and I can confirm that if you have the money, just pay $100 for Fable.
By next month maybe GLM 5.5 will be good enough to compete at a super cheap price, but

Sol, K3 - both can build websites well BUT aren't able to foresee possible pitholes in very slopshod github projects for example, I think Fable can, also Fable still has a "phew I can just relax and let it do whatever" vibe right now.

TL;DR Just go Fable. I hate Anthropic and its CEO, I hope I can unsub by August, maybe latest 2026. Even if Anthropic or some other scum company always stays in #1 for all of eternity, I don't care, Fable-tier is good enough and others will catch up soon. Not a marketer

I(>>109368543) am not >>109368478, though I do believe that some existing products do not meet the bar of "good enough implementation" and are vulnerable to vibe coder disruption. My point is distinct from his, and relating to previous posts ITT about vibecoding not having any moat and thus being unprofitable in the long run. The network effects are the moat, which is the entire reason why half of the software industry is able to survive despite their terrible business practices. So your argument has some truth to it. But so does his, as terrible UX is a siege engine that will bridge any moat now that most products are not too complex for an LLM to replicate when driven by a user with some amount of domain knowledge.

I just had my first user crash out on because I told them I would be charging for a future and separate version of the application.

He went legit mental and started posting everywhere and harassing other users who disagreed with his crusade (which was essentially everyone). He did this for 12 hours and I had to ban him.

It's honestly kind of insane how the expectation in the open source world for non-devs is that you'll work for free forever and provide timely updates no matter how back breaking it is.

I calculated the donation to time ratio, and I would be getting 13 cents an hour. Mind you, this user has done nothing but make bug reports and feature requests, he never even donated. I even said all donators no matter the amount would get the upcoming version free of charge.

This is kind of crazy man.

to the guy saying that a translucent view cube isn't real 4D, that's exactly incorrect.

3D just needs one flat plane - we call it the "eye", and as nature always does things strangely, it's curved, but that's pretty irrelevant.

To achieve the same result as an "eye" in 4D, you need but a cube - a solid cube. We say "inside the cube", but it is on the cube - in 4D, all 3D objects have two sides.

By adding translucency we are able to put the whole cube into our brains. If we have projection, we are now seeing as 4D beings do, admittedly with a lower opacity, or a sort of "mist" effect, to the eye of a 4D being.

Think about Mr. A Square. He could see 3D if only he had a projection onto 2D, and transparency.

Would he understand it? No, we won't either. It's not practical, but the point is that the view cube with transparency - and 4D projection - is full 4D, insofar as a one eyed man sees 3D.

You do know that all 3D solids are two-sided in 4D, right? Once you know that, you can understand that a solid can be oblique to a point, in 4D.

games don't have to be fun, if they raise awareness. The ultimate way to raise awareness is through contemplation on 4D solids.

It's doomed at the start, it won't make sense to us. The success is just if it looks cool (and is correct projection of 4D).

Looks neat, but be aware it's not 4D projection into a view cube.

stairs are an interesting topic. How would 4D stairs work? hyperstairs sound interesting. they would be long cubes connected at a face. You stand "inside" (on one of the sides) of the cube volume. If you made the whole stairs visible in 3D, without projection, it would look like a row of long boxes.

>GPT Image 2 is such garbage
Something happened to it in the last couple weeks. It used to be able to consistently take a screenshot of a terrible UI with 'make this better' and after one or two spins it would turn it into something amazing, now it just spits out an almost 1:1 recreation with the background changed to sloppa blue and a blue glow around every element. You can some up with something specific yourself and describe it in a prompt and it will do it, but you really can't use it for design ideas at all anymore like you used to for a while after image 2 was announced.

Pi is best agent because Pi is barely anything at all, just a minimal framework. If you take the time to make it right for you then it's fantastic. @xaccefy/pi-lookup is decent, pi-codex-goal is decent but I haven't tried other goal extensions, pi-llama-cpp if you host local models (the functionality is now built in to Pi but poorly, I prefer the extension), pi-mcp-adapter if you need MCPs, pi-codex-image-gen if you have an OpenAI sub.

Pretty much, yes. You can turn Pi into whatever, that's sort of the point. There are even extensions for specific OMP features that people wanted back in Pi, like pi-omplike-advisor. I love Pi but it's just a "make your own agent harness" kit, I don't actually think most people would benefit any from using it over something like OpenCode. Are Claude Code and Codex encouraging too much not to use external libraries? I feel that every time I think bringing in an outside library to externalize the cost of development of something might reduce complexity, they trip over themselves to explain why it would be better to develop my own. one thing about vibe coding that has shocked me is how boomers collectively destroyed millennials and zoomers egos.

And i am not talking about new age bullshit about ignoring the ego even tough hippie boomers also did that.

I am talking deeper, as a generation boomers made those two generations so poor that their egos have shattered to the point they can only see the world in zero sum ways, in order to win other must lose and only winning play is to see were water is dripping in the system and taste a few dips.

We literal have god machines now, 150iq AIs for cheap that allow us to do anything as things are going before 2028 you will probably be able to do hollywood tier movies solo with AIs.

Yet these two generations have been so buck broke that they think the ability of being able to made this will turn the price to shit and thus make it worthless, it's like a self generating prophecy of poverty.

Did the creation of cars made trasportation irrelevant by reducing costs?

Holy shit seeing this phenomenon manifest in the vibe code community has been eye opening about how much these two generations have been damaged.

using fable at max unironically is this good btw but it burns your 20x 50% in like three days. the rest is fine with opus 5, just make sure fable reviews it during your next reset.
my experience with sol in contrast has been even with a million resets it still fucks up constantly and those resets really aren't enough to iterate fast and none of the output is nearly fable level. i don't feel the financial strain to unsub from codex max or anything, but it's my #2 until fable and opus 5 are dethroned.

yes. once you go fable, you wont go back. But personally, I rather just get another 20x sub and enjoy vibecoding instead of wasting time with tinkertrooning and other inferior options. 400$/month is nothing considering fable could replace any non-AI senior dev at Meta/Google/Apple with ease.

When the juice jews at OpenAI got wind of this, they acted like it was another holocaust and immediately removed the ability to use GPT5.5-Pro-Extended with Codex as well as merging their respective usage limits. Man I love how fast I can work with Claude but I feel like I'm losing the ability to code without it. Is there some kind of hybrid workflow I can try?
>>
Fable isn't better at "planning" you retards, what does that even mean, don't you know what's going on and have a plan? It's just better at tardwrangling you, that's for sure

this is a hard fact a lot of people will not accept... ever.

Apperently Fable 5 coded an NT-like kernel but it sucks ass.
>>
>>109371324
>I feel like I'm losing the ability to code without it
bro, it's fucking over.

if you touch code, you're already behind.

Based
>>
>>109371324
you can ask it to leave the interesting parts unimplemented (and still do the boring stuff). I do that sometimes, though more for sysadmin stuff like to make sure I still know enough kubectl invocations for my overenginered homelab, even though it can definitely computer janny way better/faster than I can.
>>
>>109371345
very based

>I am talking deeper, as a generation boomers made those two generations so poor that their egos have shattered to the point they can only see the world in zero sum ways, in order to win other must lose and only winning play is to see were water is dripping in the system and taste a few dips.
I think part of this is that the immigration levels that the US and Europeans have had have been controlled such that any gains since 1970 generally go to an enlarged foreign lumpenproletariat resettled in first-world countries and the people who can hire them
Of course, I wouldn’t blame the boomers as a class for this; I blame the ’68ers (“Khader is our brother”, etc.)

An all-Fable ultracode will burn your (Fable) tokens very quickly and those tokens will likely be better spent on other things
I don’t think anyone really knows what Fable is comparatively good at now that Opus 5 is out
definitely talk with Claude about what it would do when asked to ultracode and see what roles would best be served with Fable either in the mix or totally handled by (implementor? probably not. judge? maybe. summarizer? who knows?)
>>
>>109371345
Is there still space for judgment? I tend to review its PRs and find points to improve upon though usually it comes down to misinterpretation. If I didn't look at the code I'd miss things that would bite me in the ass later.
>>
>>109371432
Being good at judging won’t really help you write code, though. It’ll only help you figure out if what you wrote was shit or not
>>
>>109371345
Get this man a reset
>>
>>109371404
>I don’t think anyone really knows what Fable is comparatively good at now that Opus 5 is out
in my experience, still planning. opus is fantastic at basically everything but fable excels at architecture.
>>
>>109371443
Ig I'm of the opinion that the judgment is the only separating me from the product guys making bug-riddled toys for brownie points. It's the only skill I don't want to lose. The actual raw experience of typing out for loops is meaningless to me.
>>
>>109371518
you’re in good company
having taste is still very important
>>
i've started using codex a bunch and it's so fucking over for coding, and I am a senior dev. Just using chatgpt frontend for asking questions was one thing, but this does everything. You just need a bare understanding of the right direction and features you want, and it can just do
>>
>>109371532
Glad you see the light at last
>>
>>109371532
If only every luddite tried codex or claude code for 5 minutes, I feel like a madman trying to explain it
>>
How can I get Claude to be more concise? I have an adversarial review skill I use to write specs but every response is a wall of text, and the actual exchange can take up to an hour. The results are good but it's maddening having to read through slabs of text for that long.

ponytail
>>
>>109371582
Or: consider “I have trouble reading walls of text” as a skill issue that you ought to try very hard to rectify because it will limit your ability to catch your clanker about to go off and do stupid shit
>>
>>109371593
You mean invoke ponytail before the review skill or adding it as part of the instructions of the skill itself?
>>
>>109371613
Add it as part of the instructions of the skill so you minimize the possible side effects, it's just a few sentences.
>>
>>109371625
Willdo, thanks

I'm slop-maxxing today, anon. A neighbor brought me a cake this morning. I used a door-dash gift card to order McDonald's. I let Kimi K3 try to play Super Smash Bros. Amazon is bringing me diet coke and mentos, same day delivery. I'm vibing a translator for my cat so when she mewls it says in a human voice, "duh" and "durr" and similar.
>>
>>109371755
fine, enjoy your cake. I’ll make the next thread.

yeah it's pretty great, I have the 5X plan and the usage is reasonable and quality is great

This thing is awesome for frontend stuff too
