>/g/ insists phones are too big now
>manufacturers try to make small phones
>they are all, without fail, commercial failures
Seems like people really do like big phones.

so you can measure your meat with it

>small phones
Samsung and Apple making passport style foldables is going to bring back the mainstream small love
>>
>>109381693
Can I get a small linux phone free from google and mac that can make calls and monitor for incoming calls and texts without dying in 20 mins when on battery?
>>
>>109381871
Oh forgot to say that it also cannot be Samsung or Nvidia related.
>>
>>109381871
>can I get a product that would fail and be ignored by 99.9% of the human population
lmao?
>>
>>109381693
>/g/ insists
if you actually took a survey I bet it would show /g/ likes big phones
its just that the minority of people who can't get what they want are the loudest complainers
>>
>>109381693
Loud minority as always. Demand for small phones is ever more decreasing because people actually use their phones to do much more computing than ever before. A bigger screen and battery makes that easier and more practical. You could always get a "flip" variant if you want something smaller to carry.
>>
>>109381693
It's a good example of why you don't listen to what your customers say.
>>
>>109381866
>>109381918
This. The future of Small phones will be foldables since you can keep your small form factor when folded but will get your bigger screen space when you need it. We're too used to having the free real estate from bigger phones. The only solution here now is figuring out how to make the phone more compact while still allowing access to the bigger screen size.
>>
>>109381693
>we made a small phone
>we also cucked the camera, battery, screen, etc.
I wonder why the cucked phones don't sell when people want flagship phones.
>>
>>109381693
Both things are true.
Phones are too big and people like them.
>>
I still use the s10e in 2026
>sd card
>headphone jack
>still snappy and supported by most apps I need
>small
>only downside is low battery capacity but idc since I don't whip it out every 5 mins and scroll nigtok, jewtube and the likes for several hours a day like niggercattle, it's only used whenever I really really need it for calls or maps, messages etc.or just to listen to music from the sdcard sometimes outside

this was the last good small "modern" flagship smartphone, shame
I still miss the "mini" samsung models, where there would be the main big version and then the small version of the same phone aswell with slightly lower specs
>>
>>109381693
I've EDC'd a 3" Unihertz Jelly Star for 2 years now. Shit has been great, fuck a mini tablet.

>>109381871
Went down this rabbit hole and came out unimpressed. Better off spending your time learning how to setup PBX and manage your own VoiP. Using something with a WWAN module if you have service with a provider that supports non-VoLTE voice (aka not T-Mobile). I say this because I dont feel like gambling $100 on a wwan module setup (like a pi hat) only to have voice not work. Sms is easy to grab from an android runing termux, signal has a cli tool. It's really just voice that's a challenge, and even then its only a challenge if you desperately want to keep a normal looking phone # that works with banks and other weird places still using sms 2fa.

I suggest life style change, only bring phone if you need it (probably dont). Im putting together a own beeper / quick comm tool to replace as my EDC.
>>
>>109381693
I dont know about you but me, personnally, I prefere big, big, super huge phones. It compensates for my ..
>>
>>109381693
>give small phone shit stats
>nobody buys it
It's like they set the idea up to fail, just like with SD reader and 3.5mm jack: no you didn't phase them out because nobody wanted it, you phased them out first and then people had no choice but to adapt.
>>
>>109381693
apple needs a small phone, bitches love blue bubbles
>>
>>109382113
They made two and they both flopped.
>>
>>109381693
KInda makes sense because phones in general like all mobile shit have such cramped screens, if you get them in a smaller size, you basically give up on doing much on them.
So bigger screen improves the situation somewhat, though it's just a slightly better flavour of shit. Still shit, just a bit less shit.

Foldables are going further with that, but we'll see how that pans out.

>>manufacturers try to make small phones

>lookup the S10e
>5.6 x 2.75 inches
>""""small phones""""
>it is larger than even the iphone mini which is larger than my current phone

Posting from my 4.87x2.31 inch 2016 iphone SE, no one makes small phones anymore. Any time a company advertises a "small" phone its larger than every other regular phone from 10 years ago. People want an actual small phone, not a fat one advertising that its small.
>>
niggercattle love big phones because it makes it significantly better to jerk off to porn on them. they simply aren't high agency enough to put together a 3+ monitor goonstation, they are too high time preference, so the big phone is the obvious answer for them.
>>
I like the idea of having a small phone that would be only used for phonecalls and simple shit. So I could go outside and not have to carry a big slab in my pants.

But the market for this is niche and it's those meme phones like the Light Phone. They're also overpriced as shit for what they offer, because of low production numbers
>>
>>109382088
>adapt to no 3,5mm

never. fuck you. I will buy budget phones for the rest of my life if i have to
>>
>>109381693
I wish the screen on my S26U was slightly bigger, ngl. 7.2in or about.

Where are the small phones that nobody's buying? 99% of models are big, 1% are normal, 0% are small

Pro-tip: if it's not sold with a carrier contract normies will never buy it or even know it exists
>>
>>109384542
omg your phone sucks,
how are you so smug with such a shitty phone?
>>
>>109381693
>Seems like people really do like big phones.
I don't think anyone was ever delusional enough to think this wasn't the case, but I still miss small phones.
>>
>>109381866
I had a BB Passport and that thing was miserable on the hand.
Shame, the Z Folds were actually narrower than standard phones and thus were quite nice to hold.
>>
>>109382008
I still don't understand why calls on 4G are gatekept while on previous gens it just worked.
>>
>>109382124
Props to them for still making another after the first immediately fell flat on its face. They really did try.
>>
6.3" is fucking tiny it's about old 5"
>>
>>109385956
Actually smaller than the 5" Moto X I had.

>>/g/ insists phones are too big now
That's because /g/ is now full of 150-160cm small pajeets

>>
>>109382406
S10e and Pixel 4a probably the smallest Android phones from the past 10 years. When everything else is a 7 inch brick, they feel tiny. You just need to hold one. The S10e has the exact same footprint as an S6/S7 but you get a bigger screen.
>>
>>109386670
TOO BIG
I do not care if it looks less intimidating than the giant XL models, I will permanently wait until the gap in the market is filled

MAKE IT SMALLER
>>
>>109381704
OP can use a micrometer for that

>Widdle baby with him widdle hands.
Are you a woman? Manlet?
>>
>>109386798
Are you orange?

small hands = small penis, manlet, etc.

No one wants to out themselves hence small phones don't sell

I think you're just gay dude.

>they all fail
because they all began making smaller phones right when google locked down android and now we're all just hanging around to see graphene's motorola phone
>>
>>109381693

i want a big phone, i just want a 16:9 aspect ratio, squared corners, no camera notch, grapheneOS, and a headphone jack.

should be really fucking simple, but phones are made for woman hands
