Better off spending your time learning how to setup PBX and manage your own VoiP. Using something with a WWAN module if you have service with a provider that supports non-VoLTE voice (aka not T-Mobile). I say this because I dont feel like gambling $100 on a wwan module setup (like a pi hat) only to have voice not work. Sms is easy to grab from an android runing termux, signal has a cli tool. It's really just voice that's a challenge, and even then its only a challenge if you desperately want to keep a normal looking phone # that works with banks and other weird places still using sms 2fa.I suggest life style change, only bring phone if you need it (probably dont). Im putting together a own beeper / quick comm tool to replace as my EDC.
