Wikipedia banned it, so should you.
>>109383662> Wikipedia banned itTrue, but unusually quick response.
>>10938365975% of the articles you try to archive don't even work.
Works for me. No QR.
>>109383730According to a reddit, their anti bot gets triggered, and you have to wait while. Can't even use xcancel anymore without manually typing a captcha.
Just refresh, had the same garbage on imagefap and at some point you get the usual cancer captchas.
>>109383742What about nitter? Just werks
>>109383659>>109383730it only asks for you to scan the qr code if it detects your ip is from india
>>109383659Everytime someone posts one of these 'oh knooo Muh Qr!' Threads i have yet to reproduce the problem. Not to sound dismissive like "not my problem" but because I have a QR decoder as part of my developing PQ keychain, I have renamed to "PQKeychan". Id love to have someone redesign graphics for it with chan board themes too:https://onionuserfiles.com/share.php?token=886810beab9d19bf56c60bff76bc5cf1
>>109383659been getting those on archive ph/is/md since a few weeks, usually you can refresh to get a 'normal' captchalast week though I was landing on an nginx install page when opening archive with waterfox and/or firefox esr. It still worked with firefox dev edition.. I am using doh on that browser maybe that was the issue but strange nonetheless
>>109383659I had the same and opnened a thread some weeks ago. Then some anon told me to keep calm and click one the eye.Still works, but yes. I assume soon I won't be able to visit certain websites
>>109383854I won't log into my google account to solve a captcha on my desktop. Not going to happen
>>109383742As usual, blame jeets who use public instances for commercial purposes instead of setting up their own instance.
>>109384103> I won't log into my google account to solve a captcha on my desktopMe too, anything that requires google account, i immediately walk away from. Is that what that captcha link does? Its why I wanted to reproduce the issue, because Im unclear why a mobile device is required for QRs. QR codes are just a type of encoding. Think of them like base64 or the other forms, that can take binary or not copy/pastable data and make it human readable. Unlike base encodings, QRs have a very limited "space" or size that they can correctly encode effectively. So their use cases are usually to share long links. Pic rel is current brainstorm of PQ key sharing using onionshare servers. Atm the PQKeychan hasnt been integrated with onionshare yet, so instead of bundling onionlinks and hashing those, it hashes the users identity (bundled required public PQ keys) then posts them on a database searchable by the hash. Users share the hash with others. Others lookup the hash and download the bundle, then rehash to verify the bundle is what was intended to be shared with them. Current implementation uses rentry.co / rentry.org, but ideally I want to replace that with a decentralized public DHT. I just have not found any good options yet. IPFS is the closes fit and will probably be the choice, but its not as accessible as I would like, and often much slower than Id like, also seems to have problems with tor. Something like a blockchain would be even better could side step the need for tor all together while providing enough privacy, but that too has no easy solution yet. So rentry is the placeholder atm
>>109383662>noooo don't use an archival site that maintains a copy of articles and web pages that are later changed to hide information
Did you know on the sound captcha, you can always replace the second word with soap and it will pass because it is giving you the word it doesn't know as the second one?

>>109385753they're testing how many of the sheep population comply with the mobile verification and will remove other types of captcha if enough do.
I love using these archive sites just to avoid clicking through the consent/legitimate interest crap. It's faster and I don't get tracking cookies.I know there's probably extensions for that, but I don't think they remove consent on legitimate interest
>>109388899that and this us a dry run to kill off the archives. the llms have already gone through all the info and theres no reason to allow plebs any access to petty gotchas and other antisemitic things wayback already killed off many of the scanned books and has been caught multiple times changing old articles the library of alexandria is fully engulfed and there aint no putting it out now

>>109384419The mobile phone provides google with enough information to credibly identify you. It's not just about proving you're a human, but which human specifically.
>>109391053>The mobile phone provides google with enough information to credibly identify youi've had a lot of firewalled devices that can't talk to google and found that they rely a lot on the hardware/operating system info sent via mobile browser's user-agents and run heuristics algorithms on inputs, screen resolution, shit like that. same as with any other computer. most cpu intensive part is forcing javascript to solve some encrypted challenge using some massive key. they don't need that much info these days.

>>109383659>qr code magically means using a phoneWhat?
>>109391053But do you need a mobile phone for those QRs? They can be interpreted programmatically, so its really whatever the link is encoded in one. Does the link have to be run on a mobile or no?
>>109392321>>109392358if you’ve ever tried to register a google account using a raped vpn ip, you’d know they force you to use your phone. you can’t just paste the link into your browser. idk about that captcha though
>>109392358You also don't need to open a QR code on your phone. You can scan it on phone and then type the link into browser on PC
>>109392321Correct.
>>109392529>>109392397https://letmegooglethat.com/?q=qr+code+reader>admits the qr code works just fine without a phoneGoogle being shit has nothing to do with the qr code, it's plain text. The captcha itself is correctly being completed, and has nothing do with google forcing a (spoofable) hardware report. The reason why this distinction matters is because a fix for this shit won't have anything to do with the qr link.
