Threadly reminder to check out Fisheye Placebo for more cyberpunk goodness.
>Vance just wanted to make the most out of his college experience under a totalitarian regime, and if that meant hacking into the university to assign himself a hot female roommate, then so be it. The last thing he expected was to be dragged into a crazy conspiracy to overthrow the government by his most-definitely-not-female roommate.

The bump limit in this board is 310, you newfag.
>>
>>109389392
309 is the last post that can bump a thread, which is literally when OP posted
>>
>>109389495
I see. I haven't tested that, but even in that case, it was not absolutely necessary to make a new thread at 309 posts.
Nice way to give some attention to this dead general, though. I'll give the OP that.

A decade from now, exposing a port to the internet for any reason will be unsafe due to AI. It's over.

The teaser was a cliche fest like we have seen too many times. And therein lies the second problem: Neuromancer has already been pillaged by scriptwrites for soon 40 years and what Neuromancer launched was fresh then but not today. The scriptwriters have a tall mountain to scale.

When I first got the opportunity to turn off targeted advertising, Google responded viciously: all website I visited having Google controlled ads were loaded with revolting ads for gay dating sites. And I could not use ad blocking at work so I could never do any web lookup with any colleagues nearby. It took about a month before ads returned to something less disgusting.

>Cybernetic weapons
Honestly? It's really stupid. Wearables and biotech will almost always beat out embedded machinery. The human body's security system makes the stuff you see in sci-fi very difficult. It's far easier to build exoskeletons rather than surgically rebuilding a humans skeleton.

Even if you were to have a perfect embedded cybernetic system. Your always going to be one step behind the curve. New tech is coming out every day, the technological process in the modern age across the total lifespan of a human is far too wide a gap to cross with one procedure. After 20 years you will be stuck with a toaster strapped to the side of your head.
See RFID biohackers circa 2012.
>sews phone sized antenna key into hand
>Yo! I can unlock my car with my hand, I'm like Iron Man bruh! Get rekd :3c
>A decade later, we all pay with NFC and have RFID key fobs.

Great for farming karma, terrible for actual daily use.

Yeah which is a shame as that is only building our replacements.

The new policy seemns to be "bring it on!" We will then be able to see the long term effects of these drugs.
>>
>>109394762
I am surprised they didn't add improved eye sight to that list.
>>
>>109395737
Note that a lot of prosthetics are worn rather than being surgically implanted.
If EEG reading or other brain scan tech in general continues to improve, the surgical process of embedding fibers like neuralink will eventually become obsolete.

>>109396699
Boot camps have been testing grounds for a long time. A major factor in why solders get lifetime medical checkups isn't "for the good of the troops" it's to keep tabs on their bloodwork and long study the long term effects of biological and chemical agents.
