Why can't /g/ code a trading crypto bot?

pretty sure we can pool our autismo to figure out a schizo /x/ trading strategy.

because the market and the money are manipulated imaginary numbers that arent tied to anything other than raping your labour, you will not predict insider trading.

You know what's more profitable than trading bots? Market manipulation
But people on 4chan are clueless, these fags organise on Discord/Telegram groups and have millions of dollars to push around prices
Crypto is extremely depressing when you get redpilled about it

I've got a few I've coded (although I mostly focus on stocks.)
I can't imagine giving any of them access to a live account though.

Here's the no bullshit Economics explanation for why Astrology doesn't work in markets:
There is no such thing as a "price" in order-book exchanges, rather there is a Bid Price and an Ask Price.
There are two types of traders: liquidity takers and liquidity providers.
A liquidity taker has their order execute immediately, with uncertainty on the price in fast markets. They buy the Ask and sell the Bid.
A liquidity provider has perfect certainty on the price of the order, but the order might never execute. They buy the Bid and sell the Ask.
The spread between the Bid and the Ask is the profit a liquidity provider takes, which the liquidity taker pays.
The "true market price" is somewhere between the Bid and the Ask.
The region between the Bid and the Ask is governed by Auction Theory, which has inherent randomness baked in.
It is a First-Price auction (or a Dutch Auction if selling).
The liquidity taker pays the "Winner's curse" while the liquidity provider profits it.
Rational strategies involve uncertain expectations for the preferences of other market participants, introducing random noise and therefore a random-walk in trades.

This means you can only "profit" from trading if
(a) You are a liquidity provider
(b) You employ irrational strategies (hence the astrology)
(c) You trade fundamentals targetting the intrinsic value of the asset

A few key points:
1. Bubbles can still be rational because you bet on there being a "greater fool" - even if the price is disconnected from fundamentals
2. While on the surface, crypto has "no intrinsic value" - that's false, a medium of exchange has intrinsic value (by capturing market friction, a person hoarding currency is effectively becomes a liquidity provider) - in cryptocurrency, this is a "BTC maxxer" or whatever altcoin you think will win the battle and become the medium of exchange.

It's this. "I'll just figure out the secret money code" is peak midwit delusion. Blackrock has a hundred people, each a hundred times more talented than you are, maintaining bots that run on hardware thousands of times more powerful than whatever you have access to.
>>
>>109398720
A hundred people can't be looking at every market at once. And Algorithms can sometimes be surprisingly stupid or predictable when a real human is looking at them, but their opponents are other algorithms and dumb retailers. You can make some money that way, but if you try to scale it higher then it will obviously start getting attention from the algorithms and they'll adapt around it. But if you look at it another way, they don't care about losing a few hundred dollars here and there.
>>
>>109398598
Some of your information is right, but it only paints part of the picture. Auction theory, for example, is only one part of the entire Game theory. Liquidity providers do make money, but they also have inventory risk that they have to constantly manage, which otherwise could actually cause them to lose money. And while trading on fundamentals is a common successful strategy, there are so many other reasons to trade, like arbitrage, borrowing, hedging, etc. If you have enough money to move a market then you can start participating in gambling, where you can bluff others into making bad trades. Every market is different, is quick to change regimes, and participating in a market you don't understand is how most people lose money.
