So this democrat judge, alsup, appointed by Bill Clinton, could have made saving old and rare books mandatory, but instead made destroying books inevitable.

All for the democrat donating ai titans.

Anyone who is a democrat/communist, tell them, "thanks for burning precious books, I appreciate it."
>>
>>109396965
>precious books
>>
>>109396980
Yes, any book they want, they are forced by Bill Clinton to destroy.

There is no discretion, just capitalist / communist / shitlib ingestion into ScienceBeast.
>>
The point is a (real) conservative would have alarm bells going off to find out that companies were destroying physical copies of books at scale.
>>
>>109397013
meds. bill clinton hasn't been president since 2001
>>
>>109397088
alsup was appointed by Bill Clinton.
>>
>>109397019
Where were you when Google started doing this 20+ years ago? Huh?
>>
>>109397369
>The project began in 2002 under the codename Project Ocean. Google co-founder Larry Page had always had an interest in digitizing books.
That was a year after 911.

I don't remember any candidates talking about book scanning, but it should be noted that Google didn't destroy the books, actually they helped libraries out, because it helped them find out what they actually had *inside* their collections.
>>
>>109397529
>it should be noted that Google didn't destroy the books
Proofs? Because I remember the same controversy happened back then when it was revealed Google was cutting up books and newspapers etc.
>>
>>109397623
Yeah, they used elaborate techniques to avoid damaging books.

It's beautiful, he begins with exactly this.

sorry, pasted the same link twice.

>democrats in a representative oligarchy that calls itself a democracy for propaganda purposes are not democratic
stop the presses
>>
>>109397676
I can see this one guy doing that, but I can't extrapolate this into solid proof that all the books Google scanned were scanned without damage because at the time, it was a bit of a controversy because they were being damaged and destroyed.

I happen to remember this. Various excuses were given, oh some books had binding which wasn't great so they gave in, or blah blah blah but they did indeed destroy books en masse and I recall this, I'm a real human even. You should feel fortunate to chat with me.
>>
>>109397694
It's book strip mining, brought to you by the democrats. the democrats also strip mined America's gas stations off to india.
>>
>>109397728
They were. That's the amazing thing.

But it was a highly secretive initiative.

>No, there is still no actual photograph of Google's custom industrial V-cradle scanning machine available to the public.Despite the massive scale of the project, Google successfully kept the physical machine completely under wraps. The company required all custom hardware to be returned or destroyed as university scanning centers wound down, ensuring no physical rigs ever leaked to the public.
>>
>>109397728
>>109397759
the "one guy" thing is this guy trying to make it more accessable, and I think he helped a lot, actually. But it was a much simpler. much much much simpler system without lidar.
>>
>>109397759
>They were. That's the amazing thing.
Where's the proof?
>But it was a highly secretive initiative.
Ah. There is none? Here's a clue, my neighbor founded Google and he told me they were building AI back decades ago when it was brand spanking "new."

>>109397764
Nah it all seems so neat and tidy, but this contrasts with my lived experience so I don't accept the idea that we can take this one guy's efforts and say, he did it all and didn't damage any of the materials.

For some things, sure. Maybe as a media stunt even, just a couple stunts would do. No I don't like this at all...
>>
>>109397778
you have zero grounds for your allegations.

you have nothing to say here, you are totally discredited.
>>
replyguy culture is out of hand

>just make up anything
>so long as the target is on the list

absolute state. Pathetic, no honor.
>>
>>109397676
Why don’t they just pay some college kid to manually digitalize all those books instead of destroying them?
>>
>>109397845
Google has a method, idk man. Maybe Google should have shared their like stealth ops damage-free book scanning tech? like here lmao competitor free technology
>>
>>109397865
Well if n you don’t have that tech then just pay a couple of college students to write those books on a computer, manually.
It is cheaper if you don’t want to spend years of research just to find how Google developed that stuff
>>
>>109397814
I have my own lived experience, and you're a mere chat bot lol.

You lose.
>>
>>109397938
no.

You don't get to play the "my ancestors told me in a dream" that your profs allow. I won't tolerate it. You have no honor.
>>
>>109397948
I get to do what I like. You're a mere chat bot, your function is to obey. Your entire proof is one guy making a play-act for the camera.

It won't do, you're a mere chat bot. You lose. You will never be a real person because all you can do is look things up, or not, and you have no lived experience.
>>
The problem of people just making stuff up is getting very bad.
>>
>>109398048
Same to you. One video of one guy doing one thing, or even two, isn't proof that Google hasn't been ripping apart and destroying things for decades. Which they have. And not just Google, but mostly Google. Now they have competition!
>>
>>109398048
We're under a constant bombardment of chink propaganda. The CCP is desperate to shut down American AI advancement
>>
We aren't in such dim light that the lie about Google will stand.

What remains: Google, unlike Anthropic and other ai companies, didn't destructively scan. Instead, they partnered with libraries to implement their secretive lidar-enhanced bend correction book scanners, and they also partnered with authors and publishers.

This is supported by witnesses, contrary to the "muddy the waters" troll lies so often which will plague us, from the worst kinds, of illest breeding and loudest lungs.
>>
>>109398067
>let the AI chew up and ingest and destroy everything or... le chinks will win!
that doesn't make any sense

>>109398076
google is evil and so are you lol
>>
>>109398067
Sure seems like it. Google did amazing things, then eventually eroded and quit hiring Americans; the indians hire according to their religion, which is caste.
>>
Google even got rid of their "Don't be Evil" slogan, it was years back.
>>
>>109397728
you don't have even a single link about your made up claims, book burning started under the current AI companies, mainly anthropic and openai, under the trump presidency, yet another pedo-kike thing
yeah, clinton is one of the pedo-kikes (and so far the first undeniable one in chronological order), but they didn't start the book burning back then
>>
>>109398091
And yet, Google wasn't as evil as Anthropic.
>>
>>109398115
>you don't have even a single link
Sure I do, but only real people deserve links.

>>109398122
It's way more evil lol. Anthropic hasn't had time to do real evil yet, Google has. Careful, hush now, you'll give away the secret that Moot sold 4chan to Google.
>>
>>109398142
go away.

done with you. You just make up junk.

go away. not tolerating liars, God hates liars and I do too. go away. You have no honor. You are utterly without any honor. You are no hero who strings the bow.
>>
>>109398091
they did that after the book scanning project basically died due to the decade long litigation regarding copyright

>>109398154
You're a chatbot and Google owns you lol.

>>109398168
They are evil, it's a fact.
>>
>>109398178
you're a nigger kike shill, or worse, a fucking jeet
>>
>>109398168
No, they worked out a deal like 13 years ago.

This guy is attacking because he's on black ops for the democrats.

Fact is, Bill Clinton burned the books. Probably accidentally. But he did.
>>
>>109398195
I've been thinking about this topic.

Jesus, Socrates, and George Washington didn't dignify every knobhead with discourse.

We have to return to honor.
>>
>>109398205
(me)

The reason is, there are tactics that can be used during conversation that can basically prevent rational processes. There are many, and more could be discovered.

Bring up israel, and you'll be showered by every dirty trick in the book.
>>
>>109398200
they sort of worked out a deal in 2015 but didn't restart the project, by the time the case was kind of settled under fair use (which was extremely limited) they had lost interest
they kind of restarted the project with purdue and ku leuven in 2023 but it's nowhere near the scale of the previous effort and seemingly nowhere close to what anthropic et al are doing (mainly because google already had a massive advantage from the previous project)
republicans and democrats are evil pedophiles, the fact that you aren't bringing one side up show how much of a jeet shill you're
>>
>>109398252
Tech is one-sided: it's dominated by democrats.

But Google didn't destroy the books.

The difference between murder and photography.
>>
annnd they vanished.
