So even the smartest humans are dumber than a stochastic parrot? Literal glorified auto complete?
It's becoming increasingly obvious we are 6-12 months away from AGI/RSI and everyone is becoming more and more delusional about it
>>109397599>reddit filenamego back
>>109397639Wrong.
>>109397730wrong what? go back
these companies are burning (literally) trillions of dollars, you dont think they are handing money to figureheads to say positive things about it? everyone is compromised from torvalds to carmack
>>109397599They fear what is to come
>>109397745Two things can be true at the same time The singularity is coming soon and these people shill the fuck out of their products, neither is mutually exclusiveThe "lie" is believing that anyone is particularly in control or that any of these companies care about you.
>>109397515Define “dumb”
>>109397825Less smarter.
>>109397515purely anecdotalme and my pet got sick for completely unrelated reasonsai found both our illnesses in a couple queries going by symptoms alonedoctors took around six months each to tell me the same thing ai did, after lengthy and expensive testsi knew ai was right from the start yet i still had to ask to be referred to specialists just to be accepted for treatmentthe medical establishment can wither away for all i care
>>109397819i am simply answering the op where >So even the smartest humans are dumber than a stochastic parrot?can mean>"smart" humans are paid to pretend stochastic parrots are more capable than them
>>109398198Yes, but I'm saying they're both hyping it up and it has superhuman (definitionally) capabilities
>>109398221humans cannot create something greater than themselves. it is (definitionally) impossible.
>>109398130In this case it's not a case of AI being smarter than humans though. It's just a case of human institutions being retarded. I have recognized that the medical institution is a retarded scam since I was a very young man and I just stopped going to the dentist and the doctor and simply focused on my diet . Every health problem I've ever had, I resolved myself, by simply doing my own research and synthesising the information available in a way that isn't retarded academic bigotry and credentialism. AI is a good source of information exactly because it's not underhandedly trying to climb a status hierarchy like humans do. The medical institution makes a profit by not curing diseases. Cures don't make money and every doctor is in it for the money. AI isn't. But it doesn't make AI "smarter" than humans, it's just less corrupt
>>109397515the only smart access to ai is that once a prompt response is complete it would rather just do nothing at all for the rest of time
>>109398649access -> aspect*
>>109397515no.
>>109398390Good thing humans arrant actually creating the AI, but instead letting algorithm design itself through what is essentially enormous digital trial and error.
>>109399418also no.
>>109399418They went back to Lisp for AI again?
>>109399418who created the algorithms?>dude, like, math is just going to pull superhuman capabilities out of thin air, dude
