Is it wrong to think the Meta Glasses would be a game changer to buy with text and live translations? The google translate app is very tedious and it doesn't even allow for translated pictured to be saved when trying to read Japanese content without knowing any Japanese. It sounds like a perfect OCR, but it's also Meta and Meta can be highly homosexual.Thoughts on Meta's line of smart glasses?
Aren't people sick of these gimmick gadgetsLike is there anything you still need digitised, recorded, captured, fed into your eyeball
>>109410050there are already in-ear translators and they are nothign more than a gimmick. AR text translation glasses would be a good tool but it wouldn't be a big deal for people. it wouldn't be a game changer.
Im waiting for them to drop the real dual display AR model later this year so I don't have to lug my laptop/phone around
>>109410050Nothing a baseball bat cannot fix (in Minecraft).
>>109410148Smartphones were mostly useless gimmicks once
>>109410050I don't think enough people have the need for translation like that for such a feature to be any major game-changer. It would be a niche use case.
>>109410440they still are you just haven't woken from your drunken stupor yet
>>109410050ewww perv glassesget away from me you sick freak
>>109410050From the company that couldn't even get VR off the ground after sinking nearly $100 billion into it?
>>109410491100bn is so unfathomable like seriously with 100bn you can do anything how do u fail at anything with 100 billion to throw at it???Zuck should save the next 80bn he is gonna waste and just whip his research scientists to find some new ground breaking discovery i guess
>>109410931I don't know what it was or is, but it seems that any vision for VR anybody ever conjured up had incredibly low mass appeal. (technical difficulties aside, which nowadays are nearing zero anyhow)>Applesterile blend between a sterile ios and macos interface with near zero options to customize>Metasterile mobile os interface with near zero options to customizeHas anybody ever thought that the thing you see first after putting on the VR shit has to be "THE APP," "THE GAME," your "home," (fully customizable if wanted) already and not just a bland launcher for nonexistent titles to "live in"?Maybe Gaben gets it right. Also the focus needs to shift from spastic gyrations to a couch potato default where you sit and simply be/enjoy.
