>Buy expensive dell Laptop with 12GB RTX>2 days later>display stays black>testing external ports; nothing>send back, full refund>send me another model with 12gb VRam>same shit after a week>buying literal no-name from germany without nVidia>works for months now.Nvidia doesn't care anymore, they just skip QA entirelyThey're the fucking Motorola or HP of gfx cards.
what business do you have buying computers in 2026 are you insane
>>109417259Sorry sweety, but those are just edge computing devices. Who cares
>>109417259>dell Laptop
>>109417320What was OP expecting?
>>109417332>>109417320Way better than msi, hpDell laptops have always been very good.
>>109417445Dell hasn't been good for awhile.
>>109417259Industry worked long and hard to make sure QA is a laughing stock position in the company, people genuinely have more respect for janitors than QA.
>>109417445Dell was/is never good, what the hell are you thinking?
>>109417259You think NVIDIA does QA on Dell's laptops? This is Dell's problem almost certainly.
>>109417486Eh. They use to just work, but their chunky firmware is incredibly low quality. Their stupid thunderbolt docks are just pure garbage for instance. They claim to fix something in some firmware only for the problem to still exist. I literally bricked a dell workstation with a firmware update that failed as well. Was funny.
>>109417492Back in the olden days, no laptop had a good GPU solution. There was a time where it was free money in laptop repair, reseating and resoldering the gpus because they would expand and break off the board. I doubt much has changed. Just use iGPU and stop expecting a laptop to not be shit.
>>109417496nothing that is thunderbolt ever works
Whats /g laptop brand choice?
Thinkpads aren't too bad. If you need some workstation i had some good experience with HP Zbook Fury, however it's quite expensive
>>109417259You're about 5 years too late. The moment they started putting AI in this shit and it just literally worsened performance says enough. Would you trust a person managing your graphics in real time?Absolutely not. They are incapable of doing it without error very very slowly.AI is no different. It's a neural network. It emulates ... neural networks. Your brain. Why did we think this was the solution to graphics efficiency issues? It might help us solve some coding maybe if we check it (not with human checking, but with static code checking) but not in real time. It's just a very very fast person and equally as inaccurate. We need a graphics MACHINE, not an intelligence.
>>109417504If a new laptop is failing with a black screen it's probably not due to heat, that requires a lot of heating / cooling cycles until something breaks. If it's dead in a few days or a week then it's probably some manufacturing issue, a batch of laptops got damaged during transport or OP did something to break it and isn't saying.>>109417630I don't use laptops personally anymore. I have some Thinkpad I got from work that I use for work, it's from the Intel 13th gen era and it's kind of a piece of shit, it's rather slow but that's mostly due to the company making bad purchasing decisions, I guess it's meant for lighter tasks mostly. My portable computer is a Surface Pro 6 that I only really still use because of its kickstand, it makes it super easy to prop it up somewhere around the house when I want some video to play as background noise when I do something else.
>>109417492I'm talking about their chips and reference boards
>>109417729And I'm telling you your laptop black screening is 99% due to the laptop and not a problem in the GPU itself.
>>109417259Nvidia fucked up so badly with Apple laptop GPUs that Apple abandoned them completely for ATI, this isn't anything new.
>>109417739Is that why my sandboxed laptop I've had on for half a decade without internet is still doing bizarre things.Strangely at the same time my other pcs are going haywire. And phones. And tvs. All at the same fucking time. And friends pcs. And family's. All made at different times btw.
>>109417770What the fuck does that have to do with GPUs?
>>109417259When you call a corporation greedy what else do you expect them to be? To be a fucking charity or what?
>>109417777Well it started with my GPU acting funny in literally all of them. HDMI connections. I've had screen bugs that broke the actual board on the screen somehow and apparently it can be flashed so I don't know what's going on there. Mid 2021 was a weird time. Wonder what was happening.
>>109417794Maybe your power's fucked or something if all your devices and your family's devices fuck up at the same time.
that sucks OP but "gaming" laptops are legit marketed towards the bottom of the barrel consumer. If you really are just using it for gaming I'd consider splitting your money into a used thinkpad so you can do normal non-gaming laptop activities and a proper gaming handheld like a deck or something like that. Both together are probably around the same price of a new gaming laptop
>>109417787Being greedy enough to omit QA is not the gentlemen art of making money
>>109418154I need the card for my local coding agents
So novidia starts frying themselves this early now, huh
>get product>break it>be an aijeet anyway>blame the product instead of yourself for breaking it
>>109420560>idiot postGo back to plebbitYou need to be at least a millenial to post in here
