You can use Windows 11 Pro indefinitely without activation, but the experience is significantly restricted. While core functionality like app installation, gaming, and web browsing remains fully operational, you will face permanent visual and functional limitations. The primary consequences of an unactivated system include: Activation Watermark: A semi-transparent text overlay reading "Activate Windows" appears in the bottom-right corner of the screen and is visible over all applications, including full-screen games and presentations. Locked Personalization: You lose access to most customization options under Settings > Personalization, including changing the desktop wallpaper, themes, accent colors, light/dark modes, and lock screen settings. Intrusive Notifications: The system frequently displays pop-up reminders and settings alerts prompting you to activate Windows, which can interrupt productivity. Limited Updates: While critical security patches and updates are typically still delivered, you may miss out on optional feature updates, performance enhancements, and new tools. No Support: You are ineligible for Microsoft support services, and the system is considered non-compliant in professional or business environments, potentially leading to legal or audit issues.

>>109423245no that license is tied to your hardware, if you bought a windows 7 PC with an OEM license (only AFTER you active the license, you could use the win7 license of an OEM machine to activate windows 10 on completely different hardware). If you paid for a retail version of windows 7 and transferred it to windows 10, that's tied to your Microsoft account.Technically you don't need a windows account to transfer a retail licence, you can manually deactivate it so that the license can be used on the new hardware. But with a microsoft account, you will not lose the license even if you broke your SSD.
Microsoft are such jokers when it comes to Windows piracy.I'm not oblivious. I don't pay for Windows but I also don't pretend like I'm "circumventing the man" by doing so. I'm playing inside their ecosystem where they can monetize me other ways and that's the main reason this has never been cracked down on. The long game matters.Microsoft Office, Xbox, OneDrive...it's all shit that being part of the Windows ecosystem connects you to and there's plenty of ways to keep your wallet lighter by being a part of it in the long term.
>>109423459how is it hard to understand? If you have one unit of resources, and that one unit is currently used to generate one unit of revenue (the home market), but using that one unit of resource on the business market would make it generate more than one unit of revenue, then you move that unit of resource to the higher revenue source. If you have a choice between business and non-business customers, you always choose the former since you can make more money of the transaction; business pay more for shit because they are expected to pass on the expense into the costs of their product or service (thats why there are commercial licenses for software).
>>109422341>scriptsThat's not what manually debloating means. Here's how I manually debloat a fresh W11 ISO install with Rufus without modifying the ISO with Rufus in any way: When asked to sign in the very first time, after of course disabling as many telemetry options as possible, I press Shift + F10 and enter the command "start ms-cxh:localonly" to make a local account, then once I'm at the desktop I open regedit to change SilentInstalledAppsEnabled to 0 in HKEY_CURRENT_USER -> Software -> Microsoft -> Windows -> CurrentVersion -> ContentDeliveryManager (will prevent random apps from being installed when updating windows in the long run). I then open Control Pannel to disable fast startup in power options, go to Settings in the Apps section to disable autostart apps I don't want and power down the PC for the first time.I then power it back on, go to Control Pannel and uninstall OneDrive from Programs and Features, then go to Settings and uninstall everything I don't want from Installed Apps in the Apps section, then in System to remove what I don't want from System Components, and what I don't want from Optional Features. Then from System I got to System Information, Advanced Settings and in Remote Control tab I disable Authorize Remote Connections. Then I disable as many unneeded/unwanted settings I can in Settings, and power down the PC for a second time [1/2]
>>109423970Cont.Once I power it back on, I install all the PC's drivers which I loaded from an external drive, starting by the chipset driver which will ask for a reboot once installed, so I reboot. Then I install the audio driver, which asks the same thing, then the graphics driver which doesn't ask for a reboot but I reboot anyway. Then I install the Ethernet driver, and then open Optimize Drives and optimize my SSD for the first time, then power down the PC for a third time.Once powered back on, I then plug in my ethernet cable for the first time, go to settings in windows update, and search for updates. I let everything download and install, and only reboot once everything that requires a reboot is ready for rebooting. Once all windows updates are done, I install firefox which I loaded from the external drive, and that's basically it.[2/2]

>>109418141Holy shit. This doesn't affect anyone using MAS since only retards use the KMS activation method through MAS. What this does affect is any company that is using older than five year old hardware, which is a significant amount. Most day to day office applications do not require that up to date hardware. Hardware from a decade ago is still plenty to run Office and use RDP. This is going to force any company that uses KMS activation to upgrade their infrastructure. This isn't an anit piracy measure. This is a measure to get thousands of small businesses to upgrade hardware that they don't really need to.
>>109419084
>>109420350>>109420321This doesn't effect LTSC licenses unless you're activating it through a KMS server. Both of the main activation methods that MAS uses does not utilize KMS activation methods. Forcing them to upgrade when PC parts are at an all time high price. So fucked up imo.

Just fucking install Linux already it's not that hard
It's painfully embarrassing how incompetent you all are that you don't understand the difference between a KMS activation and a HWID one. The only people using KMS activations are businesses that use it for volume activation. Anyone installing LTSC on their personal machine using MAS isn't using a KMS activation. If you're using LTSC at home this isn't going to affect you unless you're for some reason activating with a KMS server, which you're not. This isn't an attempt to mitigate pirated copies of Windows. This is an attempt to force businesses to upgrade their existing hardware, that isn't using a TPM chip, to hardware that does have TPM. During a computer parts crisis. Anyone who has half a brain can see what Microsoft is doing.
>>109431863That's kind of it. Really KMS is an activation method that allows businesses to store their licenses on a server and by having the individual clients phone home to that server at set intervals to obtain an activation licenses. The license isn't actually stored on the individual client and it's hosted on the KMS server. So, it's not really a tool for actually activating 100s of machines at once, you need other scripting tools to automate that, it's just where the actual licenses are stored for an organization that needs volume licensing. And those licenses are different from your standard license, even for LTSC. KMS uses volume licenses as opposed to individual Enterprise licenses, so again, this doesn't actually affect individual users that activate Windows, LTSC included, using MAS since the two primary activation methods aren't using a KMS server. I do recall at one point that KMS was an option in MAS, but I think I remember them pulling it from the current version once OP was announced. I don't think it's an option anymore, but I haven't run MAS in more than three years when I built my last PC so I'm not 100% sure. I didn't even need to rerun it on either of my machines when I converted their Windows installs to LTSC from Pro or Enterprise or whatever version I originally installed. I was too lazy to do a clean install and I haven't had any issues since I did the conversion last year before they killed support for Win10.
>>109427810The issue actually affected businesses that DO pay for volume licensing. They're now requiring these businesses to upgrade their infrastructure to have hardware that supports TPM, just so they can continue legally using the volume licenses that they actually paid for.
Windows LTSC is exclusively used by tech illiterate hipster retards baited into beliving that because there are less icons on your desktop/start menu on a fresh install that the OS has less telemetry / performs better. All the same telemetry is there, there are no additional options, the performance is exactly the same. Admitting you use LTSC says a LOT about you as a person and none of it is positive.
>>109423970>>109423978how do you fix the fucking start button: when you press the start menu to open, then write for example calculator, and the fucking bing searches from the internet before giving you the fucking app? The most fucking annoying thing there fucking is
>>109432916>Isnt 8% still a significant chunk8% out of their total revenue is A LOT. But that number is just about sold licenses. Most private users get their PC with windows preinstalled, or they upgrade for free from 10 to 11 and pirates. What I'm trying to say is: Most people don't get new licenses, their desktop market is still very important, but more because of their own subscription products like office 365, Xbox, the ms store and of course the user data + ad revenue.

>>109446482You aren't since MAS has removed KMS activation as an option months ago in anticipation for this. No one really used it anyway so it's not huge loss. HWID and TSforge don't use KMS so this doesn't affect people using MAS. What this does impact are businesses that use older hardware, which is a significant portion, that also use volume licensing. KMS is just a way to store Windows licences on a server as opposed to directly on the client. Business use KMS as a way to license out their fleet of Windows machines throughout their office. This is going to require them to shell out the money for up to date hardware that supports TPM in order to keep using the volume licenses they actually paid for. Tldr: this isn't an anti piracy mitigation like Microsoft is claiming, it's a way to force businesses to buy hundreds of new computers that have TPM chips. At the height of a computer component crisis. I wonder if its the hardware manufacturers pushing Microsoft to do this or if they're just going full retard by deliberately fucking over their paying customers. They don't make much revenue from the sale of consumer Windows licenses. They make the majority of their money from companies buying volume licenses. That's why Microsoft doesn't give a fuck about MAS. It doesn't affect their bottom dollar enough to justify bringing them down.
