What is the usecase for GNOME when KDE exists?
>>
the fact that you're able to do less with gnome but it's laggier is straight up retarded

>What is the usecase for GNOME when KDE exists?
there is none.
>>
>>109421481
None. GNOME is garbage. KDE is objectively superior.
>>
Why does this shit not have an easily accessible sound mixer?
>>
>>109421481
Both wayland so both trash

X11 coper
>>

As a gnome enjoyer, I do think that while KDE is superior, it also has too many bells and whistles that I don't need. I honestly don't know what features people need, I just use
>switch between apps
>switch between windows of apps
>tiling and full screening
and gnome does all that for me, out of the box. Obviously KDE can do this, but I don't need the 99% of the other crap it comes with.

>use Wayland
>have issues
>use X11
>don't have issues
No cope, just pragmatism.

Check out COSMIC

Use case for use case?
>>
>>109422510
it just adds the stuff I hate about KDE into GNOME, no ty

Garbage

use whatever the fuck you want, nobody cares about which display protocol you're using to jerk off to anime tiddies, go kill yourself already
>>
>>109421481
What's the use case for either when Hyprland exists
Though KDE is the lesser evil. When XFCE finally gets its Wayland version, there's literally no reason to use GNOME anymore

>>109422044
how's your clipboard, nigger?

What makes you think a usecase is a metric?
>>
If ur literally mentally challenged/or physically handicapped, gnomes is for you.

Its very difficult to get distracted when using gnome, and the user interface is extremely basic and big. If you are a government drone that has been using the same two applications for the past fifteen years, or if you have parkisons, its unironically very good.

If you struggle with procrastination or self discipline I think it can be worth trying gnome unironically. You dont need to get rid of your fav desktop environment either, just switch in between gaymen and productivity
>>
>>109421481
i love gnome :3
its the most aesthetically pleasing DE by far, i really like gnome search, and just works out of the box which is nice

>If you struggle with procrastination or self discipline I think it can be worth trying gnome unironically
this is very true, im a adhd retard and i notice i get more done on gnome than other DE's

you're a mercenary for hire, ain't cha

KDE sucks dicks and is bloated with no use case.

What's the usecase for a DE when Quickshell and Noctalia exist?
>>
i don't use either as i'm using niri, but i like kde on the "just werks" front

Use case for suicide?
>>
>>109421534
I found it to be the exact opposite. KDE is unusable garbage, laggy, resource hog, ugly and buggy. I can run GNOME on old laptops from 2008. I can't run KDE on laptops from 2022 because it's too laggy to use and the fans constantly spin
>inb4 sounds like a YOU problem
Literally tested it on half a dozen computers, even with live CDs. Other people have my same experience.
The red pill is that GNOME is lighter weight than KDE.

Usecase for krashes?
>>
>>109425931
>The red pill is that GNOME is lighter weight than KDE
maybe because it has no fucking features to begin with

Imagine using a desktop environment made by an Italian neckbeard faggot who is a member of the Italian "democratic party" (which is controlled by a literal jewess btw).

>usecase for GNO-- *krashes*

i just use whatever the default DE is for the distro. often its gnome but not always.
>>
>>109421481
>Usecase for GNOME
Corporate Linux users, the issue is that none exist, they all use windows

Use case for this false dichotomy?
>>
>>109425931
>The red pill is that GNOME is lighter weight than KDE.
The real red pill is they're both different flavors of shit and if it doesn't run on X it's not worth using.
