This jerkoff and his stupid entourage of annoying assholes made me switch to Emacs.
>>
He is, despite being the embodiment of a tranny, isn't one. Vim, arch, rust, just troon out already brah
>>

the midwit of tech bro.

Unbelievable how some average unremarkable youtuber can have so many subscribers.
>>

He is married. He will be fine without embracing his inner female.

it's a common fact that only retards use vim.
it takes a retard to admire vim's limitations
but it takes a 120+ IQ individual to understand emacs' capabilities.
>>
>you talk to people with actual skills for views on youtube. how is that going?
>you tell me
next time make a special where you interview each other back to back, then one where you both watch someone capable do something, then ask retarded questions about it

jellyfags.
He's a bit of a weirdo and has weird political takes, but apprently he is good at the webstuff. I don't mind him enjoying himself and his craft.
>>
>>109422296
i really want to enjoy emacs bros... but i find myself returning to the terminal every time
thoughts?
>>
>>109422059
i used to get his clips in my youtube algo all the time until i got annoyed enough to hit the "do not recommend this channel to me" button. but then a few months ago, clips of his podcast hit my algo hard and after watching a few, i've really warmed up to him more. kinda based backstory going from meth addict to FAANG webdev, prime's alright in my book

You're just upset that the strawman you believe in doesn't exist.
>>
>>109422609
but the whole point of emacs is using it as a full os replacement isnt it?

otherwise i might as well use vim
>>
>>109422081
nah he's more of quintessential webdev than a troon
>Vim
guilty
>arch
only recently, was a mac guy before (very common for webdevs)
>rust
i don't think he's a big rust guy, pretty sure his main language by far is javascript and he's been critical of the "just rewrite everything in rust" philosophy
>>
>>109422059
How can people unironically listen to Lex Fridman? I only watched a few videos of his, but oh boy what the actual fuck. I listen to podcasts at 1.5-2x speed by default, and even then, I had to go and manually fast-forward his parts because they were all slop. He goes on and on about nothing and pretends he's saying something profound.
>>
>>109422657
no. if you cant see the utility or difference then use vim.

You did well, anyway. Who in the hell proposes using a text editor which requires a mode change between text navigation and text editing? It's ridiculously bad design, perpetuated through memetic power.

he has some interesting guests and usually just lets the guest talk without adding anything. lex himself is extremely boring and a fraud who failed upward into fame, but if you're interested in the guest it's not a terrible podcast to hear them basically give a lecture
>>

It's unbelievable how the entire reason neovagina is popular is because this bottom feeding cuck is friends with the other cuck neovagina developer + meme plugins in fucking lua (lol lmao even).

Reminder that Prime was a degenerate heroin addict and no amount of Christianity, "family time," streaming, coding in cope languages, or neovim will ever stop him from falling off the wagon.
>>
>>109422176
>Unbelievable how some average unremarkable youtuber can have so many subscribers.
He had an extremely cushy job at Neflix that gave him tons of freetime to stream. He also got in at the right time, when "learn-to-code" normies needed someone to help them exit Vim.
>>
>>109422529
Emacs is a skill and, like all skills, takes time and patience to master. If you don't have the discipline to learn the GUI, you're better off sticking with Vim.
>>
>>109422599

>You don't need a sponsorship to say the codeberg ban is complete bullshit
codeberg owes nothing to you, they provide a service (which no one used anyway) given arbitrary terms if you don't like it go to one of the myriad other repo slop troughs with there own different arbitrary terms or host your own without restriction.
You have the freedom to choose who fucks you. The only people this *may* impact is companies wishing to harvest these code repositories for data. Hence to manufactured overreaction.
>>
>>109428437
>"manufactured overreaction"
shut the fuck up, schizo
>>
>>109428437
>host your own
They're the ones who develop the fucking software. If they get no resources, there will be nothing to self-host. Nobody with at least 2 brain cells would support such a retarded platform of EU trannies, and I would also encourage everybody to stop supporting them. This is not FOSS, this is a cult. Seriously, read their announcement, it reads like a literal mastodon post that seethes about heckin AI.

>>109428508
Anyone surprised by that post clearly does not know enough about Codeberg. Codeberg has always presented itself as a "mission-driven" alternative to GitHub, not neutral infrastructure. It's very existence is to satisfy the Hitler-wannabe maintainers too cool for github.
>>
>>109428508
>Nooo they're ruining my software, but also they they are trannies and i never liked their software.

>This is not FOSS, this is a cult
FOSS has always been a cult
>>
>>109428999
I didn't know much about them except that they're G*rmans so I expected things to be bad but it turned out worse than I expected. I was right not to trust them to not fuck up though. The moment they restricted the license, it was clear they were going against actual freedom.
>>109429067
I did like their software, but I hate trannies who push their personal political agenda and call it free software.
>>
>>109428999
Which is based given they just banned AI code.
Nice digits though.
>>
>>109429880
>tranny-style leadership is actually le good
>>
>>109430296
Banning AI is always good, yes. You know the reason why AI must be banned right? Because it produced garbage. Just like trannies do. Unfortunately it's not yet legal to ban trannieslop, but that will come in time. All we need is strong AI bans and then an argument that there should be no difference in the treatment of human or AI code. When that's in place, troons will go back where they belong (6 feet under).

He used to shill rust for like 1 year straight. He made streams featuring him on Adderall jumping all over the place with meme neovagina plugins trying to code in rust.
Now he tries mostly useless and retarded meme languages like odin and jai
>>
I stumbled onto him in the night hours rocking my newborn to sleep, right around the time he went full in on streaming.

I was a data scientist who self taught programming from a math/econ background. Prime illuminated a world to me, a world of actual programming. He convinced me to read my way though a ds&a textbook I had bought but never read. That alone blew my mind and got me hooked. I then taught myself cpp through advent of code that year, which was a lot of fun. And it made it fun to do my aoc and then watch the streamers do it. I've sense gone deep and now do a bunch of architecture and work more as an app dev than a data scientist, even though I still am one. I want to move into MLE at a faang or adjacent company, but I have two toddlers so no time to study leetcode. I hope to one day not feel like a worthless loser that should kill myself. Prime helped me get closer to that goal.

Good morning saar
>>
>>109432042
I have a PhD in comp bio and I have developed software that improve cancer vaccine target identification from mass spec by 3x with the same amount of cells in input.
I have also contributed features and bug fixes to several fairly known (but not top tier) opensource scientific software. Code I wrote is servicing millions of queries a day at Microsoft and Macy's every day as it has for almost a decade now. I can easily go on.

What have you done with your life?
