How is it possible for one country to be so greedy and corrupt?

Everything from the LG spyware/adware stuff to engineering artificial shortages in the memory market. How did things get this bad?

Well, they're Korean...

People forgot that South Korea was a dictature for half of its existence and is still a third world country parading as a first one.

conglomerates like samsung, LG and SK group are 95% of the entire economy, employ the majority of the working population and have more money than the government with virtually no competition regulation to hold them back

You can say that for most of Asia. Japan was a feudal state up to about 1868. Yet the outcomes differed enormously.

South Korea is a perfect example of what real capitalism looks like, a few families owning everything and everyone with the rest being forced into an inhuman materialistic rat race competing to the death with plastic surgery and work hours. And true to end-stage capitalism, everything has been turned into a winner takes all market place even interpersonal relationships which is why SK has the lowest birth rate with an actual gender war going on.

>real capitalism
No. That is so wrong. Capitalism means private ownership of the means of production, and also competition and transparency. With all power in a few hands there is no longer a competition, instead the market has been carved up by agreements that lack transparency.
>>
gooks are an ancient offshoot of chinks.
But also, America forced them to modernize before they were ready in the 60s.
A real phenomenon with poor people, is you never give them too much sudden wealth at once, because they rarely handle it well. And the US did this to an entire country.
They still have that distinct poverty inferiority about them, which is why they're so obsessed with materialism and status.
>>
>>109427313
korea is literally pseudo-communist, or arguably fascist. Either way both forms of top down collectivism. They were doing chinese-style 5-year plans until the late 90s and the chaebols were created in a similar fashion to china's state sponsored enterprises, not owned but closely tied by obligations and tailored laws and selective enforcement.
>>
>>109426052
Aren't Micron an american company? Why are they participating in the price gouging too?
>>
What's the deal with Korean society anyway?
Not tech, but when they exited the world cup, the country was so outraged that the manager couldn't even fly back to the country out of fear for his safety. Then the president of Korea condemned the coach and ordered a full investigation into the football program.

No other nation has reacted anything like this to an early world cup exit, except for North Korea in 2010.

So why did it work in Japan? The US opened Japan with the subtlely of a can opener, twice. And Japan ended up as one of te wealthiest countries on the planet, until the US did another rug pull with the Plaza accord. Yet even so, the Japanese enjoy a safe society and one of if not the longest life expectancy in the world.

Unlike china, Koreans actually apply themselves and invest in proper R&D.

HBM, invented in Korea
3D VNAND, invented in Korea
Next gen DRAM cells, invented in Korea
All of these are core technologies used by todays AI companies and Korea invested in them from decades ago while Chinese just sit back and wait for an opportunity to steal instead of actually applying themselves.

Modern NAND Flash, specifically CTF and 3D NAND were invented by Koreans (Samsung)

Charge Trap Flash allowed us to make dense Flash storage at scale which drove down prices and increased capacity. It was a huge improvement over the initial FGT that, compared to modern flash, ran hot, used more energy, cost a lot to produce, and had reliability issues which is why it never took off commercially.

3D NAND was pioneered by Samsung and it is licensed to all Flash manufacturers today as they control the core IP. It enabled the ultra high density, lowered prices further and made 3D packaging mainstay in semiconductors.

Take HBM and the lessons learned from 3D NAND and combine them and you get the up coming HBF that Sandisk and SK Hynix are pioneering.

It is Flash built like HBM to allow dense storage close to the NPU as an intermediary for HBM.

Korea also pioneered next gen actuators for robotics, allowing for variable sense and pressure. This allows first ever true haptic reading and human like feedback.

While china does performative dancing/fighting robots that Hyundai owned Boston Dynamics had done already, Korea is making actual robotics innovations that has actual use cases for every day human robot interaction and safety.

Korea also pioneered advances in ship building and is why it mogs even China in order books for the largest, most complicated and most expensive ships built today, LNG carriers.

Only Korea has the highest manganese steel. No one else can make anything close to 25%Mn steel. Only Korea and this allows them to make large ships that not only weighs less, its stronger, and safer for carrying hazardous cargo.

The only reason why China gets LNG contracts is if its for a Chinese company but mainly because Korean docks are booked solid for the next 10+ years so people have to go to China.

Japan can only build smaller LNG carriers due to lack of technology thus they don't get any more LNG orders.

Koreans also pioneered many new materials, tools, and construction technologies that allowed Korea to become the worlds foremost construction providers.

Many of the iconic buildings you have seen were built by Koreans.

Fun story. the Petronas Towers. It it two towers, connected by a sky bridge. Malaysia didn't know who to use for construction between Japan and Korea so they gave contracts to both countries.

Samsung built one tower and Japan built the other tower.

Korea has an approach of doing things efficiently to save cost, and meet or beat schedule. Japan said they are mainly about accuracy in building. The two nations raced to see who would finish first.

Turns out, Japan's tower of precision was leaning off to the side by a wide margin causing them to lose time having to go back and correct their mistakes. Meanwhile Korea finished ahead of time on budget with the correct specs.

Not Japanese or Chinese or Korean, but this feels to me like you're looking for every excuse to make China and Japan look bad and put Korea at the forefront of everything.

Turkey went with Korea because only Korea has the materials to make the bridge design they wanted, and only Korea has the technology to build such a bridge. And with Korea's help, the 1915 Canakkale Bridge opened over a year early.

Korean's also build nearly all of the water desalination plants and oil refineries in the middle east.

I was a government experiment where I went to this special school where they gave me funny medicine they called "barbituates" that made my nose see and my ears feel the whispers of the universe, and they made move a dot on the screen. I was the first in 14 years to break the machine. They had to push me forward. But then the experiment ended. I am now left discovering the secrets of the universe all by myself. I translated the voynich manuscript by the way using calculus and trig. You people have no idea what I learned in those pages. I am awake.

I didn't know electronics then, but I knew it was weak and worn out. They got another one that the read mechanism was broken on, and I still moved the dot. Gosh I miss the school. They were so nice to me. Creating time in those circles and the funny little rabbits that glowed green you said was from the future.

Are you retarded or you are peddling disinformation on purpose? SK has had the lowest fertility rate in the world for several decades by now, today it's 0,75 per woman vs Chinese 1,00. Both are dogshit, of course, but 0,75 is still 25% smaller than 1

I do not for a minute believe you spent any significant time in Japan and I seriously doubt you know Hong Kong either.

>thinks Korea is at .75 and is still the lowest in the world. heh
calm down zhang. You have old data. Maybe look up what's been happening with Korean birth rates and marriages the past few years. Then ask why china's marriage rate is crashing and birth rates falling below 1.

https://www.reuters.com/world/china/chinas-marriages-drop-decade-low-deepening-demographic-concerns-2026-05-11/

You also have a huge old population and youth unemployment is so out of hand that your ccp no longer publishes that figure.
Horrible times ahead for you guys.

Back on topic, you need to be better and actually innovate instead of stealing tech from Korea and hating yourselves for it and then lashing out at Korea due to your insecurities.

Korea is the actual tech powerhouse you changs pretend china is.

>White OLEDs, pioneered by J. Kido et al. at Yamagata University, Japan in 1995, achieved the commercialization of OLED-backlit displays and lighting.

More copies of talmud are sold in SK than Israel. Koreans were cucked by americans and americans are cucked by jews so koreans become spirituly jews.

In terms of trustworthiness of developed Asian nations, the order is obviously Japan > Korea > China. Koreans are like a mix between the White-adjacent Japanese, and the jeet-like Chinese.

Remember when South Korea lied that they invented room temperature semiconductors. Korean's habitual lying is why South Korea has never won a Nobel Prize in the STEM category.

>South Korea has not won a Nobel Prize in Physics, Chemistry, or Physiology/Medicine. Its only Nobel laureates are former President Kim Dae-jung (Peace, 2000) and author Han Kang (Literature, 2024).

Amusing, and not even remotely true. It was one single person who gambled on LK-99 being a room temperature superconductor, while L and K wanted to do more research before claiming anything.

Nobel prize requires (((western))) interests in order to qualify for it. You basically have to suckle up to the committee to win. Its the sign of a desperate vassal if a non-western person wins.

Basic oled research goes back even further to Kodak company on the late 80's. But all of the modern OLED displays we know of are based off AMOLED designs which Samsung commercialized and is why they have the lead over others to this day.

It was never officially submitted as such.

Normies who don't work in research aren't familiar with pre-publication, often posted on arXiv, to get early feedback to flush out their research to see if it is valid and worth further research before formally submitting the paper. The two other researchers didn't even want to release the paper as it wasn't anywhere close to ready. The third guy wanted feedback regardless thus the posting to arXiv.
