BigTech agents were pressuring FOSS project maintainers to adopt Rust (for safety and security) and threatened them with being replaced by programmers who fork and rewrite it without them. They (corporate agents) were kinda open about it on HN at this time and I documented it and talked about it here, but most anons ignored it and I lost interest. I'm unaware what happened to those takeover approaches, guess not much as I didn't hear about them later.
