More Rust adoption in the industrial embedded space as people realize C has been deprecated.
>>
>>109428644
I have no time to read the details. But this looks cool.
>>
Rust is a terrible language for embedded, lol.
>>
>>109428644
Should have used Ada.
>>
>>109428644
anon, bait is supposed to be believable
>>
>>109431682
>actual embedded people: we love rust, especially embassy
>/g/eet: embedded is horrible for embedded haha akshually the whole language failed it just did OKAY
i know who we should "believe" (because we can't possibly actually know for ourselves). the /g/eet of course.
>>
>>109431711
you're confusing them with yank (((defense contractors))) charging tax payers 10-100X extra to help (((the closest ally))) better
>>
>>109432311
>actual embedded people: we love rust
kek no

>i know who we should "believe"
Proven track record of C and assembly over a marketing story about Rust that also appeared on Orange Reddit today?

Amazon and MS bought Rust.
>>
>>109432849
>muh track record of literally the only options
>hurr durr corpos rust bought marketing my izzat saar
lol
>>
>>109432849
This. I wish I could filter all this shit paid content on here.

Why are journalists writing like 2010 erp anons?
>>
>>109434085
>either it's all "unsafe" like c
>or you have pauses for the gc and safety checks
it's not for embedded, you might as well use java thumb if your requirements are met by that because it's battle tested
>>
>>109434157
>pauses..gc
lmao
>>
>>109434157
>java thumb
what's that? gewgull isn't helping

C isnt going anywhere xir
>>

some kinda java bytecode format that ARM used to support and be able to run natively in a sort of skeleton JVM the CPU itself had in microcode

very low power stuff but quite capable of embedded whatever if you needed a UI and networking stack, stuff that a hard real time system couldn't wait on anyhow, they had thumb, it's still on arm i guess but i don't know which ones have it,

How?
>>
>>109434513
donated enough to control the board
>>
>>109434517
Ah, ok. Did they do something with that influence so far?
>>
>>109434526
yep and the old guard rustroons had a spaz out lol, lots got fired from mozilla which was the first rust nest, they didn't get invited to MS or Amazon either
>>
>>109434530
Did they replace them with reliable corporate drones or actual programmers? Any consequences so far, good or bad?

Last time I looked at Rust politics (like 5-8 years ago?) BigTech agents were pressuring FOSS project maintainers to adopt Rust (for safety and security) and threatened them with being replaced by programmers who fork and rewrite it without them. They (corporate agents) were kinda open about it on HN at this time and I documented it and talked about it here, but most anons ignored it and I lost interest. I'm unaware what happened to those takeover approaches, guess not much as I didn't hear about them later.

All you need.

how does it feel knowing you're clinically retarded?

the "rust foundation" and the "rust project" are different entities. just like how the linux foundation and the linux project are different entities. except the latter is actually in kind of a weird position where it's more connected (e,g. directly hiring linus and gkh), and at the same time seemingly less concerned with actual linux development since most of its activity and finances go into unrelated ventures.
/g/eets talk about the foundation because they are tech illiterates who get all their info from (((e-celebs))) and think open-source programming language projects are some sort of a company. the /g/eetiness also makes it impossible to grasp the idea of a collaborative structure existing.
