>green energy
>steals sunlight from plants, preventing their growth
Poorly named and other scam tech

We have entire fields of desert land that could be utilized.
>>
>>109429710
solar panels are suprisingly wide spread in syria. they use them to suppliment grid power.
>>
We have a giant nuclear fusion reactor in space that will be here for the entirety of Earth's existence. Why can't we tap into its potent energy-generating potential?
>>

Our fingers are too short
>>
>>109429891
It would distort the free market. Utilization of solar energy should be banned, punished by heavy fines and imprisonment for violators.
>>
>>109429710
you have no right to steal the desert's god given sunlight.

my mind is broken never would i have imagined making cows carry solar panels, but it makes so much sense provides shade for the cows out in the field and cover from rain too, genius

I have no idea how environmentalists can be ok with this shit. Its completely ridiculous.

The wisdom is that the farmer knows better about this stuff than urbanite cucks posting on /g/.

I've had solar on each of my 3 houses in California for over 20 years. Pipe down.
>>
>>109430964
how expensive was it/did you self-install and what brands of equipment did you run?
I am interested in the financial feasibility of this, I have heard that depending on locality you can send excess power back into the grid and get paid for it

i am concerned mostly with durability though, seems like its hard to make a case for it if you have to replace panels often

The entire green party in Germany is a big Russian psyop
>plant anti-nuclear scare seed despite nuclear power despite there not being a single accident at a German nuclear plant ever
>simulteaously weakening NATO nuclear weapons development AND making Germany dependent on Russian gas import (double whammy!)
>yes it's totally fine to cover up prime agricultural land with solar panels in a country that has very limited space already, you can let sheep graze the 3% space between the panels
>oh you want power at NIGHT? too bad lmao, guess you're going to need a bunch of "Kazach" gas imports and French nuclear power
>nevermind that there are like 12 French nuclear reactors literally 50km on the Western border of Germany making the entire effort completely moot because if one of the blows up you're still going to get affected

>>plant anti-nuclear scare seed despite nuclear power despite there not being a single accident at a German nuclear plant ever
pretty disingenuous argument considering what a big scandal Asse was
>>

Like on my roof and off the sides of my balcony?
>>
>>109431102
You mean the Asse Lager that was greenlit by Merkel against the advice of literally everyone involved? The same Merkel that killed nuclear half a year after she had said German NPPs are safer than expected and can be run longer than expected?
Did you mean to back up his argument?

Retarded take
>>simulteaously weakening NATO nuclear weapons development AND making Germany dependent on Russian gas import (double whammy!)
I must've missed the point when Merkel, Scholz and Merz revealed they're all secretly greens and decided to abandon coal and simply not invest in green energy manufacturing
>>yes it's totally fine to cover up prime agricultural land with solar panels in a country that has very limited space already, you can let sheep graze the 3% space between the panels
You mean the land that farmers can't grow on without being subsidized?
>>oh you want power at NIGHT? too bad lmao, guess you're going to need a bunch of "Kazach" gas imports and French nuclear power
Batteries apparently don't exist
>>nevermind that there are like 12 French nuclear reactors literally 50km on the Western border of Germany making the entire effort completely moot because if one of the blows up you're still going to get affected
Yeah bro just force the french to change their energy infrastructure, the french are well known for accepting minor inconveniences for the greater good
>>
>>109431148
yes, plants hate sun
the environment plants love the most is one without sun or water, and consists of pure, nutrient poor sand with no nitrogen
if they could just block out the sun, it would become extremely lush
>>
>>109431151
>I must've missed the point when Merkel, Scholz and Merz revealed they're all secretly greens

>Merkel
Killed nuclear, literally the sole reason for the existence of the German Green Party i.e. the original Alt 68er.
>Scholz and Merz
You mean Gas Gerd light and Gas Kathi?
What was anon's original claim again? Russian subterfuge aimed at making German reliant on Russian gas? Hmmm..

>Killed nuclear, literally the sole reason for the existence of the German Green Party i.e. the original Alt 68er.
Missed the whole bündnis 90 part, didn't we?
>Russian subterfuge aimed at making German reliant on Russian gas? Hmmm..
The reliance stems from them not at all embracing green energy manufacturing until it was way too late. You could claim they could've just let the reactors run but take a look at german bridges today and think if you really think today's germany is able to upkeep a nuclear reactor

275 watt Mitsubishi panels in 2004
~$32,000 $16,000 rebate
put them on my roof myself. Got them from Advance up in Calpella

If electricity is pricey in your area it's worth it.
>>
Germany destroyed old growth forests just to put up windmills. How ironic.

>>
the only reason /g/ (/pol-lite) hates solar is because they think they win an imaginary argument against "opposing side" by being against it. that's it, that's the sole reason why, it's not based on logic, but emotions.

>>
>>109431678
damn didn't think about rebates
still a pretty expensive project

sounds like a cool thing to have but not sure it makes sense unless electricity is really a problem
maybe if you had lots of power outages it would be nice
>>
>>109429668
I don't have plants on my roof. The solar panels there are stealing sunlight from the black shingles underneath that would use it to make my attic damn near boiling hot.
