If the US economy is entirely hinged on AI, why would'nt China release free, open source models for the foreseeable future? It's an incredible bargain to destroy america economically, without a single shot fired. The US Govt can't even complain since they made the retarded choice to bet everything on AI.

Thank god the finance industry and PE has absolutely no exposure to the AI bubble.
>>
>>109430339
the federal budget in 2023 was actually 6 trillion dollars, not 0.9, why is your infographic trying to whitewash how much of our economy is government?
>>
>>109430357
The government is not going to replace a single employee with AI and neither will banking/finance.

Medical and Legal professionals are lobbying hard for constitutional protection from AI job loss.
AI wont replace farmers and fishermen
AI wont replace miners and foresters.
AI wont replace construction workers.
AI wont replace anyone except people with worthless degrees who weren't doing any real work to begin with.

Isn't that what they're trying to achieve by making some models available for free?
Sure it's also a marketing strategy to give freemiums, but it doubles as a move to undermine expensive US subscription plans
>>
>>109430233
western slop doesn't make any money currently so China making their slop completely free would have zero impact

this is the most retarded logic I've ever heard of.
if anything, releasing open-source models actually helps american companies, since they can steal their methods while keeping their own ones (say, ways of keeping large contexts) secret.

>>109433324
The point isn't technical or profit dominance, it's how stuff like KIMI undermines the present valuation of AI companies
>>
>>109434187
I guess in that sense the OP is right, but even then, my argument still stands if investors see that the secret sauce makes the models better than the closed-source ones.
IMO, valuations is a shit measure of how much future a company or a country has. that shit can change overnight.

It's the last gamble of an insolvent nation, what's next is war and a draft for the plebs, send military aged and somewhat capable men to die in a meatgrinder so they don't hang your ass as a politician
