A Mac Mini is like $500. Does what most people need. Linux is free, financial stuff now works on Linux, games now work on Linux, Linux has pro-sumer level software if you are willing to learn new program flows. Microsoft kept enshittifying Windows by fucking up the audio, so this pushed the audiofags to Macs, and now they are pushing shit to push the gamers to Linux, and the financiafags like me to Linux, they just keep shooting themselves in different body parts and wonder why they can't stop bleeding.

I just want to say that this is only the start of Linux's rise. With all the financial software fully functioning on Linux, you are going to see a sharp rise maybe not this quarter but maybe 4th quarter as the holidays move around and we can all standardize on Linux. Linux users are less likely to give up desktops completely and switch to solely mobile. I find it very hard to believe that Linux is even above a 1% marketshare. The amount of effort it takes to switch from Windows to Linux is gigantic and there is just no way the general population would do it. You can't even bring people to install an ablocker or switch from Chrome to Firefox even though it comes with almost no downsides and can be done in less than 5 minutes. According to these stats Linux is more popular on the desktop than Firefox is as a browser. Am I really supposed to believe that the same people that upload their whole life onto social media are so concerned about privacy that they would turn their computer into a tinkering hobby just to avoid Windows?

But the remaining enthusiasts (at home) are gaymers, enthusiasts, programmers etc. And those people have "some sort" of tech skills. Those tinkerers and pc lovers and privacy cautious people have "no choice" but to switch to Linux. Look at this!!
