Has theres been a person who goes "Im into gaming and pc graphics" who simultaneously doesn't care about nvidia featureset. It seems weird to go invest into a gaming pc and ending up with an amd gpu, like what are you doing with your life.
basically, nvidia gives free videocards to influencers, and so zoomies think the 5070 is worth buying. but of course the influencer gets free stuff worth hundreds of dollars, so they will push nvidia.nvidia is broadly a consumer scam. while xx90 and xx80 have long been quite powerful, the rest of the lineup has massive cost savings, essentially they are selling garbage.

Are there any anons here who moved from 3840x2160p displays to ultrawide 3440x1440p monitors? How is that like, really? I'm pretty used to daily-driving my 32" 2160P IPS monitor, but I'm intrigued by the prospect of more recent tandem OLED 21:9 ultrawides. Most of the games I play would be compatible, and the res would be easier to run too. Though, I really can't tell how much I'd miss the crisp PPI of my current display. I used to run 1440p on another cheap LCD, but it's been so long that I don't know if it'd feel 'bad' or not to switch back down. I just got my current 2160p monitor ages ago for crisper text clarity, but that's not a strict necessity for my workflow anymore.

>>109438577The HDR quality bottleneck is usually caused by the source media after you properly set up a decent miniLED or OLED display.Games are authored for SDR first, most of the game studios treat HDR as a post-processed feature which turn out poorly. These HDR implementations need to be fixed with mods like RenoDX.Prestige streaming series are produced in native HDR first.Use an Apple TV trial to watch Slow Horses if you have a good HDR display (preferably with Dolby Vision).S2 E1 or 2 has some scenes of a guy biking around London during a sunny day, you can see how well the HDR is handled.https://partnerhelp.netflixstudios.com/hc/en-us/articles/360000599948-Dolby-Vision-HDR-Mastering-Guidelines
>>109439219>Anyone else worried about the thing that has been nigh incessantly forewarned about?
>>109439298>>109439482What of all the fags with 8GB GPUs? If I'm screwed at 12GB, do they just lose human rights for buying a 5060 or keeping their old 3070, or what? It's not like 6GB GPUs became obsolete overnight, the 1060 and 1660/Super could run a bunch of shit fine as recently as 2022-2023.
>>109439219No, the game industry can't afford to price out more customers. The step up to the PS5 caused enough buyer attrition.Video games are a mass market product, console game development business model collapses if it continues to price out middle class players.Online game devs need the whales, the RMT/MTX whales need the frugal audience for their self-esteem.Game devs are headed the other direction; they're trying to port their games to the Switch 2.
>>109439520have you seen the ports? SF6 upscales from 360p to 720p in portable and 520p to 1080p in docked mode.
>>109439518You'll probably still be able to run shit at low settings, but you've been told for 2 generations now that new features(dlss, framegen, ai, ray tracing) all need more vram and you should aim for 16gb minimum.
>>109439549>16gb minimumHas nobody stopped to think that spending 1000 bucks on a GPU alone (5070 Ti) is a bit ridiculous?
>>109439545If SF6 is running at a smooth 60 fps at the Switch 2 hardware specs, it's a win.Switch 2 is still the highest selling console since its release.
>>109439545either a skill issue or ueslop
>>109439580>1000 bucks on a GPU alone (5070 Ti)That's only due to RAM prices going apeshit, realistically both the 5070ti and 9070xt would be below MSRP by now and you could get either of them by around $600-700.
>>109439608No it's the hardware limitations of the switch2, most game studios are making games for current/next gen PC hardware while the switch is using last gen hardware.

Should I plug my AIO fans into the CPU header or System Fan header? The CPU fan header seems to run the fans slower.
>>109438577What have you watched?

>>109439728Games have different hardware requirements so theres no set 90 fps vr buildif you want best value build rn in general its 5070 gpu, am5 mobo + 7800x3dWith memory crisis inflated prices you can either pay inflated 32gb ddr5 prices, or get 1 stick 16gb and buy another later, also 1tb nvme

How do I know whether my old HDDs are still safe to store things on?>2TB Toshiba DT01ACA200, dated April 2015>1TB WD Green WD10EZRX, dated September 2014
>>109439868Well thats a complex 3d game so even a 5070 would struggle with the large resolution it runs atmaybe look at 5070 ti for the gpu, anything beyond that isn't very cost effective. 9070 xt would best value in that 1 game scenario but then you lose out nvidia features that may be important to you.

>>109439879Every disk that runs is safe to store data. It's not safe not to have a backup drive with data mirrored or RAID 1+.
>>109440124So I assume using an external drive that you only plug in when you need it and `robocopy /MIR` your data over regularly (once every 1-3 days usually) is close to ideal?
If push comes to shove, which companies would you buy products from? Chinese or American? Say GPUs by definition (which are mostly made in China). Both are spying on you, but the American interface will be english. How soon are we seeing ram wars and scalping?
>>109440029It was used as his secondary storage, these tend to enter deep sleep state very often.Windows wakes up your sleeping drives if you open the File Explorer's "This PC", or if you have any shortcuts pinned to Quick Access that originate from those drives.SSDs powering on and off isn't that big of a deal, it's worse for HDDs.My secondary SSD has over 10K power on counts @ +1.3K power on hours.
