Bugger me with a bloody spear, this is the end, lads.
>>
Idk but this piece of shit stopped showing comments for me like a week ago
>>
>>109433285
For me a week ago I started having a bunch of weird issues like getting videos on really low quality and I couldn't increase it for the life of me, the videos were also getting stuck and not loading anymore, and now this.
I'm using Firefox btw, with uBlock obviously.
>>
>>109433299
I'm on ungoogled with UBOand the quality is okay, but videos load very slowly (started a long time ago, idk if it's possible to get around it)
>>
"Sign in to confirm you're not a bot"

This sentence right here, I think it's still too cynical. Google is too half hearted. They should change it to something like "Let's verify you're a human" for some good dystopian vibes.

It's only a matter of time until an account will be a hard requirement for every video and from any ip. This would also mean all third party solutions will stop working (at least without a session token). It's going to be a sad day.
>>
>>109433299
You need to install Chrome Mask plugin too and enable it on youtube.com / youtu.be, it will make youtube think you're on Chrome and it won't gimp it for you.

No just you. I'm sorry you're chronically retarded.
>>
>>109433278
and yes i won't give my credit card & bank account info.
>>
>>109434091
I fully expect them to start gradually forcing everyone to sign in to watch anything at all.
Remember, the goal is global digital ID, and google is tasked with pushing it.
>>
Just use odyssey, it's strange that more people don't use it as its performance is ten times better, youpoop runs like poop even on the best hardware
>>
>>109433693
>>109434106
Reminder that YouTube is also testing ID verified search results and it may have already rolled out in your country.

Searches with curse words like "Tropical Fuck Storm" (band) are blocked unless your Google account is ID verified.
>>
>>109433353
Sometimes the message just says "Please sign in. This helps protect our community"
>please give us your passport
>this helps our """community"""
>>
>>109433353
>"Let's verify you're a human"
if you use a glowed up VPN like ProtonVPN they let you solve the captcha to watch a video
>>
>>109434382
it's like this in South Korea and google search also ID-walled there
>>
>>109433323
Try blocking this on UBO.

why the fuck are you that desperate to browse sloptube?
>>
>>109433278
I'm fine with Youtube locking down as long as they actually make the platform good again. This "free video hosting accessible to anyone anywhere forever AND we pay you a lot for views" was never going to last anyway. Most of my recommendations are shit, the search results are shit, the community is shit, no dislikes, no blocking shit channels, shit moderation of AI and scamming content.
>>
>>109433888
Witnessed. And thank you, anon
>>
>>109433285
i had that happen when either ublock needed to be updated or if I had the show youtube downvote extension enabled.

skill issue

>Laughs in CGNAT
>>
Its annoying but youtube is probably the site where tracking matter the least so i can't see a reason not to have an account. It's not like you search for anything sensitive or private in the youtube search bar. Maybe on google but do that in a private tab.
>>
>>109433278
YouTube loves AI bullshit why would they care about a bot? Oh no my targeted advertisements aren't being watched, advertisers are pulling ads
>>
>>109435724
Because they're racist against bots not named Gemini.
They love their AI, everybody else's can get fucked. Why there hasn't been an anti-trust investigation yet over this is a mystery. Surely, some opportunistic lawyer can argue that they are being anti-competitive?
>>
I just hope 4chan goes age verified to get rid of underage gen alphas posting.
>>
>>109435775
>age verified anonymous is posting
>>
>>109434382
normally I'd be annoyed but their search is already functionally useless to me so I can't imagine this changing anything. I can type verbatim a video title or channel and it doesn't show up in the first 250 results so
>>
>>109434382
I've never once seen that but my Google Account is also older than the age of consent / legal drinking age.

I hope someone @ Google HQ is smart enough to know that clearly anyone with an account that old is an adult.
>>
>>109436704
It was never about protecting minors, so they'll never do this.
>>
>>109434481
>google search also ID-walled there
This will be the next step

They have a good excuse, though. How could they know the account wasn't passed to another person, which could be young enough to be a minor? There's no way we are getting away with that.
>>
>>109433285
>>109435402

Sheeeeeeeiiiiiit, thank you so much. It was a very old age bypass extension that was fucking things up.

Start reading here:
>Android
NewPipe
>PC
FireFox / Librewolf with UBO (accountless only works without VPN)
>>
>>109437344
>>Android
>NewPipe
On that note, PipePipe has been absolute complete fucking garbage for me in the past weeks/months. Even when I updoot, it iften shits itself (yesterday it was stuck in an infinite loop of retrying something ("youtube requires us to wait and retry" or something) in the middle of a video).
It's getting pretty tiresome.
>>
>>109437429
I switch between pipepipe and newpipe depending on which works. I tolerate it because I know the devs are in a constant war with google devs.
>>
>>109437563
I'm not blaming the devs, I know they do their best but it's still tiresome.
Does it happen often that newpipe works when pipepipe doesn't? I don't really want to use another app if I don't have to.
>>
>>109437006
How could they know a verified account wasn't passed to a minor? Better require age verification before viewing every video just to be sure.
>>
>>109433278
Have you yet to delete your YouTube willingly?
>>
>>109433353
>"this helps protect our community"
This is the part that makes no sense. If people aren't logged in, how can they harm the community? I have a feeling that Google is lying anons...
>>
>>109437671
You can fix it if you ask any reasonable model to fix the problem. If you refuse to do that, I can't help you with this problem. But it's a lot faster. For better or worse, I can say that Deepseek was pretty good at getting around Google's shit. You could also pull a WidevineCDM off an android phone https://old.reddit.com/r/Piracy/comments/y30ffr/a_simple_guide_to_downloading_and_decrypting/

You should do that anyways because it's useful.

>Google is lying
can't be
>>
>>109434498
Thank anon, it worked.
>>
>>109433353
You guys don't have dozens of burner accounts?
Google accounts are great because most other sites assume they're verified so you can troll people with them.
>>
I knelt last year and signed in because I got tired of that block. It also helps with authenticating your newpipes on your phone on the same network.
>>
>>109433278
It doesn't even make sense.
Surely AI agents can make Google accounts already so how does having an account prove you're not a bot?
I suspect a bot came up with that policy.
>>
>>109434106
This is happening in every single website and platform and they are coming for 4chins
>>
>>109435402
>youtube downvote extension
You mean the thing that literally makes up downvote numbers heavily biased by the types of morons who use it in the first place, all to fuel the spiteful contrarian mindset they all have
>>
I've been seeing these threads for years and have never encountered any problems from Youtube and my ad-blockers work fine and have for just as long, longer even.

Is it just for thirdies?
>>
>>109444011
No, anon. They clear their cookies on a regular basis and don't have Google accounts. That's why it happens.
>>
>>109433278
I'm so uninterested in anything on youtube now that I'm not even bothered.
>>
>>109444028
I have account logged in on laptop but can't login on other pc because it requires verification, which I can't do.
If I log out or clear cookies, that account is most likely gone for good.
>>
>>109433278
>>
>>109433693
it will be the day people stop caring about youtube
>>
>>109438231
It's a good enough excuse that they claim that they are verifying accounts. Not doing at least that could have them at the mercy of some regulating body accusing them that they aren't doing the bare minimum, you know, to "protect the kids.".
>>
>>109433278
My youtube bookmarks have dwindled down to a small handful of mostly dead channels, and anytime I look for new channels to get into it's just all AI slop.
The day they block me from watching anything without signing in is the day I just stop watching youtube, and there won't be anywhere near as big a loss as there might have been 5-10 years ago.
