went to install opensnitch on a new system and the first result that popped up was opensnitch.org instead of the github from evilsocket. the website is just flooded with random AI Q&A and the "Guide" section seems to just be AI generated articles all under one name. the bottom of the site also reads "Not affiliated with OpenSnitch. This is an independent site providing documentation, guides, and links to the official project repositories. For official releases, visit GitHub". what could someones intention be for running such a website?
>>109435366usually the intention is to spread malware infected versions of the program in question, or to make money off of ads. while rare, it could be someone doing it with good intentions, but you never know, unless you constantly check the website to see if they altered the download link to point to some shady build/repo instead of the official repo
