I finally got around to digging into why my games keep crashing as it’s gotten much more frequent, to the point of being unusable. And it’s not good.
Thankfully the machine is still under warrenty. And if it wasn’t I could still sell it to some sucker on eBay and get a 5090, I need more VRAM anyway, still sad though it was my first big boy card

I felt bad for you until I realized you were jewish. Enjoy the RMA delays retard.
>>
>>109435732
I’m not Jewish but $1200 is $1200
Nobody should be buying cards on eBay in these times anyway

I was going to feel bad for you but then I realized you were anti semetic. Enjoy the RMA delays retard

I have literally never had a gpu fail in all my years.

Is this something that happens often?
>>
>>109435820
Same. I’m so fucking glad I bought EVGA, but really sad they’re gone now. We used to have it so good.
>>
>>109435829
Ive been doing the ASUS Pro Art models the last two cards I bought. They are dope but pricy.

I do miss my EVGA 3070. God EVGA was just too good. Fuck Nvidia

5070s,80s and 90s will die sometimes in flames, that's not an if that's when OP is lucky it did not burn down his bedroom while he was asleep. Fact.

I have an EVGA 1080ti, absolute beast. EVGA were the best graphics card makers that ever made. It all peaked with them.
>>
>>109435837
Shit. Is the Meta for mid tier build a 9070xt then?

im not I even got one of those friendship pins they were advertising on YouTube.

Some technical deets if anyone wants to chime in
DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG, NVIDIA's Aftermath dump reporting a "Shader Instruction Error" each time, at a different random GPU address in each crash (0x40, 0x2d30, 0x350, 0xc20 etc. Has happened 140+ times since march getting more frequent, now averaging once every 12 minutes (less than one Fortnite game, unacceptable)
>>
Did you try underclocking the GPU as a last resort? Years ago I had a dying GPU but I got like 2 more years out of it by lowering the clocks a little which made the errors go away. a 5080 is good enough that it shouldn't matter even if you lose 10% performance or something. Of course depending on what the exact issue is this might not help at all.

Yeah. Started at -100mhz, then -150 and -200. Also did a clean reinstall to the latest driver, honestly it seemed to make things worse. I’d go even lower if I thought it would help, I have plenty of headroom when it comes to games. Even local ai the limiting factor is VRAM. It’s a screamer of a card (when it’s not shitting itself)

It was more of a late aughts thing.

Sapphire is actually pretty good for quality but they only do AMD. I really wish Nvidia hadn’t treated EVGA like shit. I feel such nostalgia for that company and it’s only been a few short years.

I turned vsync on and it seems to be doing fine? Weird I don't even have a vsync monitor. Ill take it though
>>
>>109436171
Don't forget to reduce the voltage too

I'll try that if it starts acting up again. I figure I'll give it at least another week of tinkering before sending it back to PNY. That would be a huge pain in the ass regardless and I would prefer to not have to.

>TDP 360W
Should have seen that coming. Get a 4060.
>>
>>109437310
>rated 360W
>tested at 400W with spikes of 500W
Peak retardation. My entire machine is around 200W.
>>
>>109435820
I had it happen once. Fixed it for awhile by doing the oven thing. It failed again a year later but by then I just upgraded.
>>
>>109435820
It is almost always from factory-overclocking and the VRAM gives out first. The actual GPU is pretty darn robust.
>>109435715
It is most likely your system memory. 5080's VRAM chips should still be good unless you were an idiot and overclock the unit.
>>
>>109435820
I had a Zotac 560 Ti 448 die on me in a spectacular fashion. Took my mainboard and PSU with it and when I disassembled it years later out of boredom you could see scorch marks.

Post your CPU, memory, & motherboard model.
Higher end Intel Raptor Lake CPUs (13/14th) can degrade, but the error notices blame the GPU when gaming.

This is what I would do until I could RMA
