Embrace DDR4, embrace Intel 8th-10th gen and zen2-3.Accept that the standard of the average PC build has regressed 10 years, and this is fine. You don't need to play the latest games because most of them are bad anyway. Start appreciating older games and emulation; 10 year old hardware is more than capable of running them.The same goes for general productivity and PC usage. You don't need DDR5, nor to you need a bleeding edge GPU. In many cases you don't need a dGPU at all, and there are plenty of good used mini/SFF PCs on ebay and facebook marketplace at reasonable prices.
I recently built out a Batocera machine using an optiplex 3070 micro I got for free from work. Been enjoying some playstation 2 games and it can even run indie games on Steam. I'm already well into my regression acceptance. It's actually kinda cosy

Cheat code is buying a 4-5 year old business laptop like a Thinkpad T14 Gen2 or Gen3 or an Elitebook 840 Gen8 for less than $300 and just upgrade it along the way. You get a high quality rugged laptop for 15 percent of the price of a new one.
