Are you on Intel graphics? Something in Blender's OpenGL renderer crashes the Intel graphics drivers on Win7. Nothing VxKex can really do about that.
If you're on Nvidia/AMD it will probably be better.

Nvidia. Not sure what the issue is but GIMP 3 crashes on startup with... can't recall which exe at the moment. It's not the main GIMP executable, disabling vxkex on it didn't help.

Version 3.2.4. How did you set it? I tried just the main GIMP executable, and then all of them (including wia.exe). Neither worked.

why not just install linux and put windows 7 in a vm with gpu passthrough

Just tried it again with a new install and now it's broken. I think last time I installed I disabled all that postscript and python crap in the installer since I don't use it, those are probably the incompatible parts. Either way, if I just keep spamming enter to close all the error dialogs, gimp does eventually open.

I fixed the issue and the fix will be in the next vxkex release. Or if you fancy downloading random dll files from a 4chan post, you can replace kexdll.dll in system32/syswow64 with these ones.
