We should start a technological movement when we only use tech from a certain period, similar to the amish. The perfect time period is probably somewhere around 2000-2012.

>use analog technologies
>only access internet from home on a computer
>use a feature or flip phone
>use dedicated device (mp3 player, DVD, camera, etc)
>use paper maps or GPS for driving
>only use hardware that does what it's supposed to do no smart shit
>some caveats apply like using modern PC hardware

My father owned one of these while he was still pokesman at WHO
>>
A lot of zoomers are doing this already. Having every device connected to the internet is only good for niggers and jeets.

The problem is the technology is so far so advanced an air-gapped system is not an air-gapped system anymore.

I don't need you faggot zoomers on tech I grew up with, go away.
>>
>>109447064
Optical discs were fucking cancer, god I'm glad they're no longer a thing
>>
>>109447064
I do this and I'm happy with it.

I boot puppy linux from an optical disk and its fun.

your dad worked at pokemon? sick

I'd still take them over cassette any day; minidisk was also pretty good. I'd still take an ipod over either of them though, I don't care that it's crapple. If I were going to take part in some "retro" revival movement (I actually don't consider anything after 2000 to be retro), I'd use a 6th gen ipod classic and mod the crap out of it.

70 percent of Zoomers literally grew up with point and shoot cameras and dvd niggerfaggot

A good portion of them great up with crt, even.

I'd say only if you need that for work or a very specific use. For your run of the mill shitposting and a cheeky wank now and then, get the weakest possible hardware.

They are though. You can still get movies on DVD, music on CD, and can still buy blank discs.

Why?
>>

They exist but they are no longer a thing. Nobody buys shit on discs. Everything is digital.

needing a movement to do anything why are zoomers so fucking gay

I do.

Well, I can't imagine you have much of a choice, given your options for computer hardware in Africa.
>>
>>109447064
>>only access internet from home on a computer
This shouldn't need to be reiterated; this should be the default with no other alternative. I can't imagine doing any meaningful task on a smartphone, or even a tablet; ergonomics are complete shit.

>use dedicated device (mp3 player, DVD, camera, etc)
The trend of Zoomers having a gorillion trinkets to accomplish discrete tasks is amusing to me. There's no reason why anyone would need to carry a camera, PSP/Vita or (3)DS, e-reader, a no-fly list's worth of knives, etc. At most, a feature phone to get away from the surveillance Jew, and perhaps a dedicated music player would suffice. Even then, your options for quality are limited, and you're honestly better off just carrying nothing.

Also, why the fuck does everyone believe themselves to be a photographer?

>>109448864
>70 percent of Zoomers literally grew up with X
And most of that time was spent being non-cognizant (most never developed it).

Are modern network/internet speeds allowed?
Modern wifi and bluetooth standards?
Usb? Usb PD?

Too far back.
We didn't even have plumbing or soap back then.

What about ownership?

>>109450488
>Pentium 4
>No AVX/AVX2
Does that even run recent video games?
>>

>What about ownership?
You never owned software on optical discs that need online registration or online updoots (yes, that includes all the games released physically today). Even the software you did own is going to rot on the discs unless you back it up.
Watching movies off of discs is a humiliation ritual. Torrenting the movie is more convenient and helps preserve the media.
>>
>similar to the amish
you wish you had the constitution to actually believe something like the amish. this interest in analog tech is a trend you're chasing from one of the drip-feed dopamine social media algorithms you prostitute your mind to, and you'll forget about it in a month once it's no longer in vogue. and you'll know it because you'll still have your little side piece smartphone on you anyways. if you somehow turn out not to by a hypocrite and kick your addiction, I would applaud that.
>>
Amish works because Amish can make all their own tools
Once a year 2000 device breaks, you can't make a new one. And there's only so many out there
If you want to be 'tech Amish' or whatever you'd have to settle on tech from like the early 80s at most. Back when you could find factories stuffed with Brits hand soldering boards

Maybe I’ll bring a zoomer girl to my apartment to show her all my electronics. Then I can shake her hand, say have a good night and wonder why I couldn’t close the deal.
>>
Get your zune now, a jail break to load arbitrary code was just found and they are still cheap.

What're you, 12? Pick up a real hobby faggot.
