How much better is Visual Studio on 64GB of memory or higher? What are RAMlets missing out on?

>>109449898Visual Studio is evil, you should not use it. Microsoft killed XP and 7 by updating Visual Studio so any software compiled with it would now be purposely incompatible. And they will soon use the same trick to kill 10. By using it, you are part of the problem.
>>109449898I remember when most people has 256mb of ram, but Vusial Srudio had to run on 4Gb
>16 cores>64GB RAMVS has to be fully AIslop at this point too. You're getting enshittified.
>>109452172But I can make claude go in there
>>109449898>VS 2026its shit and that memory requirement is due it auto-enables AI slop options by default, also UI got partially replaced with shitty WebUI, no full color customization anymore, only shit themes, literally trash tier VS, also couldn't disable updates without editing config files manually. Dunno how it's currently as stopped using it after a week and went back to 2022.>wat doget VS 2022
>>109452190If you wanted to run two instances of the editor, could your machine handle it? You could need 128GB RAM and 32 cores.
>>109452226>he hasnt downloaded more RAM Retard
I only use visual sneed at work (I don't like it). They gave me a 64GB machine as it happens. It runs badly and completely shits itself 1-2 times per week.
>>109449898the most reasonable ask is something like 4gb, which should be enough for any project with an LSP enabled and indexed. Not sure what the remaining 60gb could possibly be used for. For reference, you'd be far fetched to get vim to use more than 200mb even with huge buffers and loads of plugins
>>109452193 (me)also in general fresh 2026 was fucklot jankier and sluggish than my old 2022 with lot of extra shit(Nsight etc...) ever was and it didn't matter if project was .NET C# or MSVC/clang C++ project, everything worked slower. This pretty much broke trend of new VS being clear upgrade and did that very clearly.
>>109449898>How much better is Visual Studio on 64GB of memory or higher?fuckton of ram isn't going to do shit since visual studio runs on legacy .net framework, it's bottlenecked by heaps of shit they keep throwing on top of shit>>109452193>no full color customization anymorelol, here's your color customization in vs2026, enjoy your shitty datagrid table with no searchbox, no element preview, and no color picker
>>109449898>Best on Windows 11fuck off>with 64GB RAMFUCK OFFFFF>And 16 CPU coresI dunno what they even mean by cores anymore
>>109449898I only use 2017 and 2019. Same with photosshop. Sony Vegas 6 was perfect. I edited an ad for the newest one at the time on that version. It was 2023. If i could I would still be on windows 10 for my last few windows machines. Everything new is gay and cringe.
Just use notepad
