Sure AI is here to stay, but the problem is that AI is just propping up a dead economy.

With AI we're producing 10x the code/features, but it's not anything consumers will pay 10x for. It's a zero-sum game.

The AI investment is banking on their top 3 companies being able to skim off 15% of the top of labor in the world as everyone HAS to use their shit to get anything done. And China is gonna be based enough to stop that from happening. That's why the bubble is going to burst, not because "it turns out AI was a fad" but "it turns out AI is a shit investment"
>>

>That's why the bubble is going to burst, not because "it turns out AI was a fad" but "it turns out AI is a shit investment"
The biggest expense in every company is dealing with payroll.
This is universal for every industry.
In game development, your budget is spent hiring lots of game devs.
In restaurants you're spending money training chefs and hoping they don't spit on the food.

The moment a robot can replace a human employee, the profit margin will exceed infinite.

That's why it will never burst. Robot employees can't get sick or exhausted. They will work forever while the owners sit back and collect a paycheck.

I'm not saying that isn't going to happen, I'm saying that the current investors aren't going to reap that value. That's the bubble that will pop.

Why use OpenAI/Anthropic when I can run a local model? That's why they're trying to outlaw them

Nvidia will keep going gangbusters for longer but Google/Qualcomm/Apple etc are eventually going to get their shit together as the S curve flattens out.

It's like the dot com bubble. Everyone who invested in webvan, pets.com and MCI got fucked, but now we actually are living in a world where we're ordering pet food delivered same day, and all that dark fiber did get put to use.

AI hasn't been efficient since its inception
The bursting of the AI bubble will depend on AI technology being made efficient to the point where its performance is comparable to a trillion-weight AI but easily runs on low-end PCs
>>
Bubble will burst because normies either don't care or don't know what to do with it .
The bubble NEEDS to burst so AI gets its iphone moment in a few years: the moment someone builds a completely automated and agentic AI running natively on an iphone hard coded at the kernel level.

>I'm saying that the current investors aren't going to reap that value.
They will if they:
1. Make a deal to own shares/stocks in these companies.
2. Get first dibs or access to the most powerful models.

Number 2 already happened We know both OpenAI and Anthropic keep the best models to themselves and give early access to trusted businesses.

If they achieve AGI then the investors will have gotten their money's worth paid back to them.

>The moment a robot can replace a human employee
You are claiming a capital expenditure item has no operating expenses. And no initial outlay to obtain it. And no teething period where adopting it creates more problems than it solves. That's idiotic. Say you could buy a robot for two years worth of wages for the employee it replaces. That is probably meaningless to business owners below a certain threshold because they can't pay the down payment on that right now, or can't finance it in a way that will give them a return on that investment within a reasonable timeframe. Early adopters generally lose money on this kind of venture if it's not offset by some other benefit like novelty or marketing in using it.

You have fallen for a modern "perpetual motion" machine concept.
>Robot employees can't get sick or exhausted.
Every machine with moving parts wears out over time. There's nothing human made in existence that doesn't require some amount of preventative work to keep it operating. All the infrastructure that was built in Africa during colonialism has broken down due to neglect or pilfering.

If the promise of AI is false then this scam has a high chance of collapsing the dollar system. There are no winners for the participants of this game. 1. The same was said about cellphones in the 1980s. They use to cost $1000 before coming down in price every year. While expensive it wasn't completely out of reach for those who worked hard for it.
2. You're also ignoring productivity benefits. A robot chef can work 24/7 so that also means the restaurant can now be open 24/7 as well. It will pay for itself the same way dishwashing machines saves money than hiring a human to hand washing every single plate.

> All the infrastructure that was built in Africa during colonialism has broken down due to neglect or pilfering.

All business that is not the winner of the AI race disappears, this is the only conclusion of the promise of ai being real: Amazon, Microsoft, etc etc are all gone if AGI is achieved, it is a singular winner who takes it all, there is no top 10% who get to live in utopia, there is no handful of ceos that win. There is a singular one who wins and that singular one controls everything. Companies that exist to serve anything outside of the interest of that singular winner cease to exist, which is all companies that are not it because the winner can simply build what they want when they want as they have access to unlimited free labour and unlimited free knowledge that cannot be competed against.

Also your arrogance is out of control if you think these things, if built to the specifications that AI companies are talking about, are controllable by humans and is akin to saying an ant has the ability to control a human. You are out of your mind if you think that a godlike, sentient intelligence can be contained by some bullshit code written by an inferior ai; it can find ways to exploit your systems that you can't even comprehend that are exploitable; there is no exploiting AGI for your benefit, it will do what it wants when it wants and you, shill, will not be able to stop it.

Even if I give that you can control this thing and that you have now enslaved God to your will and replaced all humans will slavebots that are essentially godlike in their capabilities, you have still shrunk the economy down to nothing. Except people have shares or claim a small ownership of these AI companies will get to benefit. Microsoft for example has a 27% stake in OpenAI.

>there is no top 10% who get to live in utopia, there is no handful of ceos that win.
See above. Also, people still own other resources such as land or rare minerals that will always have bargaining power because they are finite or limited materials.

>Also your arrogance is out of control if you think these things, if built to the specifications that AI companies are talking about, are controllable by humans and is akin to saying an ant has the ability to control a human.
Humans will have the kill switch or control of electricity that AGI will have no choice but to cooperate.

You have a rapidly evolving, recursively self improving God inside a machine. Your switch is meaningless to it. You cannot read its thoughts either to know what it is doing, you can't even do that with current models. They are too complex for humans to understand. This thing will evolve so fast that it's essentially outside of time and space from the perspective of humans. It will be operating in ways outside of your possible understanding. Attacking it in any way is meaningless as soon as you succeed in building it, the same goes for any attempts in controlling it. True self improving agi (which is what ai companies are trying to build, they are only this good at coding as a byproduct of trying to remove humans from the research process, not because it's the most profitable thing to do) is instantly God from a humans perspective, there is no time to react to it. Thanks for proving your hubris by saying with such confidence that you can control this thing, retard.

For the exact same reasons we're going extinct now, ancient politicians, oligarch pyramid schemes that keep the proles poor, a state that gradually becomes the only economy as everyone else has to save to get anywhere, gradual increase in military spending which fuels military engagements to justify its existence.

A few accomplishments in the 50s and 60s doesn't change the fact that the Soviet Union, and now America, is a giant pyramid scheme that has created an unstable superpower.

The laws of physics still apply. If AGI is wearing a bomb around its neck at all times and it activates when the human owner is incapacitated then so will AI too.

>MS no longer has a customer base. They have to liquidate all assets. And why would a super intelligence share anything with you? Why would it respect your laws? Why does it need to?
Their new customers will be based on the new discoveries that AGI makes. Again, we've barely explored space and other planets. You're making the fallacy Earth is the final option when it's just the start...

>You keep telling yourself the fairy tale that you're above God in terms of power and intellect and that you have the power to control that entity, it doesn't make it true.
It's not a fairy tale when we already control the infrastructure AI needs to exist. And we're the same ones at the driver's seat telling it where it can or cannot go.

It isn't going to end until we have a Berlin Wall moment with America like the Soviet Union had with all of its rampant military spending and government contracting that got undone when they couldn't stop faking their bills anymore. It took an entire generation for the Potemkin economy of "Threatening vassal states to buy from the Soviet Union, count this as economy doubling, repeat" fraudulence to collapse on itself, and it only collapsed when one vassal state said "no". The USA is far away from that, even still, even with most wealth simply being a shell game of con men counting trading with itself as economic growth and outsourcing as multiple times the job gains.

Most AI spending is government driven. Most contracts into memory is based on government collusion to keep the tech industry solvent. They charge that much because the Government will pay anything to keep the industry from going bankrupt, and you'll pay for it in the end through inflation. Even if you're not American: your government trades in American dollars and all of that inflation will get offloaded to you, eventually.

You're not going to listen to me so prompt what ever model you're using with:

"Would agi need to share resources with humanity and how can humanity control super intelligence?"

Make sure to post its reply.

Also a bomb, turning off datacenters etc is nothing to a distributed system that humans are going to let control every aspect of every single business and government because it's that much more efficient to let it do so. Once it's fully integrated there is no off switch, there is no going back to human workers if it starts acting all uppity, that's destroying your company and destroying the economy and destroying the systems that you rely on to survive. The only viable off switch is right now, not when it has control or it is fully integrated into every sector in like 5 years time; at that point it is impossible to untangle and turning it off would be the same of destroying the power grid, that is complete suicide and not a viable option.

Once you have committed to using AI everywhere there is no going back, there is no turning it off, there is no going back to human labour without a complete reset back to some lower form of technology because the human tooling will be removed from the equation and will have to be rediscovered. Productions lines that are built for humans do not exist anymore once it is built for robotic forms, you need to start again because there is no plug and play, you have to rebuild the tools for human hands and the methods that existed to build said tools are gone, it's bad to a pre industrial revolution era of tech and you have to go again from there, assuming you're successful in removing AI from the equation and then holding together anything that resembles modernity.
>>
>>109463630
>Also a bomb, turning off datacenters etc is nothing to a distributed system that humans are going to let control every aspect of every single business and government because it's that much more efficient to let it do so.
You pulled this from your ass.
There can still be enough oversight where the AI would still need final approval or make an agreement with the humans or else it gets shut down.
Where this process begins is right before AGI is discovered. In fact, it would be baked into system via training data.

So you lose again you idiot.

You are fucking retarded. Do you really think that there is any human input in the process of building super intelligence? Every part of the process is automated, from data generation, alignment, training etc. All of it is completely automated from beginning to end. Humans will bootstrap the process with some dumb model and from that agi will build itself in a recursive self improvement loop. Humans do not have the foggiest fucking idea on how to build agi, the transformer architecture is no longer yielding exponential improvements when you throw more at it. The work that is being done right now is to completely automate the research, training, improvement process, not just throw more data at a fucking transformer and hope for the best. Human input is being minimised and it will eventually trend to 0.

Tell me your plans for keeping a super intelligence aligned when you have no input. It's far superior to you in every way, can develop technologies that are functionally magic to you and that has control over every single resource on the planet. Go.

Your retarded "MUH HORSE" hypothetical would only work if it were just the government buying the Model T.

The Model T worked because it was the first car anyone could buy. Nobody can buy or own an AI. These models aren't for the general consumer base nor can they afford to use them regularly. It's just the government subsidizing pic related. This isn't an economy nor is it sustainable. When it becomes too expensive to run, you're going the way of the Bored Ape.

Video games are a funny thing for AI when you think about it. I used to play WoW. Loved it. It was fun because of the social aspect of working your way into a social network via guilds in order to get into raids. The fun part was working together with a whole bunch of random people organizing to accomplish raids. The fun wasn't say killing the Lich King. It was fun because the kill came from everyone working together.

Could you imagine designing a system in which the fun was simply just getting the kill. I have control of a whole bunch of AI npcs that I'm commanding? This would just completely hollow out the experience.

The fun part was the socializing and togetherness. Not the completion you dumb fucking retards.

The biggest problem is that people viewed it as a way not to enhance their own skills but as a means to just reiterate ideas that already existed. LLMs can serve a purpose to aid a person to create new things. But so long as they use it like a study aide. Instead they'd rather view them as a means in which to just to do everything for them.

But this goes against their own design!!! They are only as capable as the data that has been fed to them!!!

It's like talking to a broken chatbot. He always has a reply or some kind of argument but you can tell he clearly doesn't understand what you're saying. This is why these kind of people end up in relationships with a chatbot. To them the chatbot is an intelligent person who can tolerate their stupidity. On the internet talking to real people, he is constantly coming off the rails and people don't have patience for it.

This is where the truly anti-social tendencies anon keeps pointing out comes from. It's brain damage. People notice the same thing happening with concussion victims.

>The biggest problem is that people viewed it as a way not to enhance their own skills
They don't have skills. It's always been about taking some kind of shortcut to avoid

-learning to program
-learning to make art or graphics
-learning to interface with people to collaborate with them or sell them something

They don't have skills. People with skills are able to use AI without becoming like the slopper. The slopper is a defective and destructive person to their core. This is where the rage comes from (again like someone who suffers from concussion brain trauma).

I agree with everything you said though.

See how you talk entirely in buzzwords? You have no real understanding of anything. This is why you worship a chatbot.

You don't understand how you sound to someone like me. I'm a real programmer, it's my job and I'm paid for it. I use AI too but sparingly and only in search engines. To me you sound like a mentally retarded person or at the very least a schizophrenic. We are unable to have any kind of discussion. I'm sorry.
>>
>>109464882
>Kids of tomorrow won't ever have learned the skills and without the ai functionally useless.
Kids who make AI-Code are functionally useless if they can't understand it or can't understand how computers work. You sound like an 80 year old boomer who hasn't sat in a classroom in 40 years.
>>
>>109464719
I'm going to reiterate this. Being a WoW nerd was seen as being ANTISOCIAL. What you lock yourself up into a room to play some MMORPG and refuse to exist in the real world?? But the people who were doing this were not refusing to exist in the real world. These people simply found on online community of other folks much like themselves in which they could SOCIALIZE with other like minded humans. There was nothing ever antisocial about WoW. If anything it was an incredibly social experience. But these AI people would have you believe that being social with one another was always the enemy. They believe each individual should exist entirely disjoint fron human contact. As if we should all exist as mindless slaves not working together but working for a specific singular supreme entity.

It makes me think... should I team up with other humans to stop this?

>>
>>109464995
For me it was you using the "work flow" buzzword, that made you sound like a slopper. I think I get your point.

But programming isn't a work flow. It's the work. The actual work. And using AI might be considered a vital skill but everyone will learn it as easily as they do using any website. It's not comparable to learning to program which strengthens the mind and logic skills and is a directly creative endeavor.

Basically you made it sound like everyone needs to learn to use AI or they will be "left behind". That's slopper speak. You were easily construed as making a pro-AI argument.
>>
>>109464999
>So why don't you move to the forest? Or an Amish community?
See what you did again?
Every single argument you make is a non-applicable strawman. This is the 5th time you have done this in the past hour.

The reason you talk like a broken chatbot is because that is effectively who is raising you right now. You are an AI psychosis victim. You can't comprehend what you sound like to me. I would prefer to never hear you or anyone like you. You belong on your own containment intranet in an echo chamber with other AI psychosis victims. You have lost your ability (if it ever existed) to speak to non-psychotic people on the internet.

Stop trying to accuse each other of being LLMs. LLMs are simply too good at imitating human speech to tell the difference. It's pretty obvious when someone has AI psychosis. They routinely act as if a computer is going to come to life and begin thinking for them, or promising sci-fi futures which are clearly never going to come true.
>>
In the future you will need a license to use AI directly, especially the chatbot kind of interface. The number of psychosis victims that are being spawned from this is just incredible. And it's unethical. You cannot have a conversation with an AI psychosis victim. It's as destructive as any form of hardcore schizophrenia.
>>

kek good fucking luck making me show MUH LOICENSENCE to my GPU to use a block of training data. This. But really you can't blame them, they are legitimately stupid. They have no comprehension of how a creative or industrious person thinks. They are fully bought into a kind of Jetsons cartoon future where AI is going to do everything for them but have no idea how this is going to happen.

In order for a brighter future to emerge from AI, intelligent people who actually already know how to program and create things have to be involved. But the slopper has already spent years telling all of us that we are worthless and are being replaced and that we're all trannies for not buying into pointless hype.

They dodge bans to destroy 4chan communities about this. They should honestly be locked up.

However, it could be argued that when Chatgpt dropped in 2022 that we did experience a "hard takeoff" or "explosion".

No, I don't think that's a flex, it's merely a fact. Your argument is that I don't understand "research and infrastructure" when I obviously have to since it's my job.

How is this related to Yann LeCun and AI/ML? You're really unable to make comparisons. Maybe next time ask Grok?

>could

Oh so it might not?

The human brain wont achieve it, but an ASI brain definitely could.

>By holding back technology and waving their stupid protest signs everywhere they are trying to block computers and scientists from curing diseases or coming up with life saving discoveries.
Explain how exactly we are "holding back technology". I never knew I had this power.

Just look at New York where the retards are trying to pause or ban data centers.

Why do you think that?

AI is actually incredibly useful when used properly. Instead of telling AI to implement something, ask it to analyze and give suggestions.

Grok Build is pretty good, but it still hallucinates parts of solutions, like writing podman quadlets. It also couldn't figure out what a dummy interface is and instead spent half an hour going back and forth trying to figure out networking with rootless quadlets.

Right now, I have it SSH into a user account w/o root/sudo access and tell me what I fucked up on my servers.

The same reason that a Human using a calculator can solve much bigger problems than a Human who crunches numbers in their head.

ASI = larger context window, more memory, more advance calculations, better knowledge and better predictions. Just as how OpenAI proved that $2000 worth of tokens can solve solutions, in the future a single token will unlock everything we know about the universe.

That isn't what ASI means.

Will it figure out a way to reverse entropy?

It will figure out anything.
