I've been to more expensive conferences than this and really its great for networking, talking to vendors and seeing if they have a job available, collecting socks/t-shirts, sneaking into vendor customer appreciation drinking events, or adultery (if that's your thing). I went to maybe a dozen infosec conferences across the US a year or so ago and there were maybe 4 sessions total where I was like "yeah I should implement that" or "I hadn't considered this ADCS escape mitigation".
