The turing test used to be our measure for AGI and LLMs blew past it
Old scifi novels had their god-level AI as a dumber version of ChatGPT
We will have AI leading to 40% unemployment before we have the truest Reddit definition of "AGI". It doesn't matter if Claude Code is technically AGI if it has the building blocks to automate all thinking work.

steins gate is peak, replaying the vn rn, some things still dont make sense to me tho

the point is that until it's AGI it cannot automate all thinking work.
it can get pretty close though, prolly at least 80%.

the turing test only made sense if you wrongly believed the ability to construct plausible text entailed every aspect of human intelligence
old sci-fi novels were written when people were excited about expert systems, and so they imagined god-level ai as an expert system

the problem with artificial general intelligence is the word 'general'
humans do not have 'general' intelligence;
our brains have many specialised regions bootstrapped by evolution
yet we happen to be just past the threshold required for some races to achieve civilisation
the development of civilisation just 30,000 years after the end of the cognitive revolution strongly implies this is not an arbitrary benchmark
that's why artificial general intelligence is defined as whatever humans can do

Bumping thread for the queen of /sci/
But your understanding of what constitutes AGI is blatantly wrong

I'm not entirely sure that Kurisu would say this, but maybe she would.

>all thinking work.
the fact you have to specify "thinking work" shows that it's not "general intelligence", retard.
general intelligence would be ably to clean my toilet and make me a coffee.
also it's not enough to just provide the building blocks to automate all thinking work.
AGI would just automate all thinking work.

Kurisu is for missionary position at least once per hour for the purposes of procreation
